Texans working out Jordan Shipley and Stephen McGee?

Stephen McGee ‏@StephenMcGee07
Good visit/ workout w the Texans.. Got to throw w my old high school buddy @Jordan_Shipley !! Little Burnet Bulldog flashback hah

not sure about mcgee, but we could use a returner, i don't think shipley is 100% healthy yet tho.

Shipley to me is another version of Walter, might be good to bring him in, but which WR would we drop ??? Na never mind i like Jean to much and i think he would be the odd man out.

They work out guys every week.

Jordan Shipley is interesting, though. What happened to him? He had a good rookie season and then fell off the map.

really liked shipley, though injuries are a concern. reminds a lot of wes welker - smallish slot receiver, deceptively fast, quick, soft hands, smart route runner. he had 600 yards and 3 touchdowns as a rookie.

Doesn't anyone remember the Bucs/Cowboys game where he screwed the pooch on fumbling a punt deep in Bucs territory. The Boys went on to get a FG and take the lead, and ultimately won the game. Some teams aren't as patient and forgiving with muffed returns as we have been.

I heard from someone that the Texans were interested in drafting Jordan Shipley when he came out.

I'm guessing they are tire kicking. Updating their list of FA vets for just in case. They tire kicked Ruud before the Cushing injury. So they know who to call.

Tore his ACL. I don't think he was back up to speed when the season started. Which is why, I think, he's been released from a couple teams.

I believe he's blown out his knee(s) a total of like 3 or 4 times. Its amazing he can even trot these days...but I do like him. He has great hands and runs great routes. Not sure how effective he is as a blocker seeing as he is so small but it peaks the interest nonetheless...

Don't care for either Johnathan Grimes was just released. Do ya think we would bring him back to stash on the practice sqaud hell maybe even activate him with Tate looking like he might miss a couple games.

I'd like that. I thought Grimes had some potential.

In preseason, he was fairly impressive and definitely next in line to Forsett before he was stolen from the PS. Marciano on the other hand called Meggett a "sleeper" for kick return duties this season (beaten out by Holliday). My preference would remain Grimes.

Shipley would be a special teams upgrade. I'm sure that is the primary consideration.

How is Shipley anything like Walter? The similarities begin and end with skin color.

Mine too, and if Marciano says to do one thing I'd do the exact opposite. He's been awful at evaluating talent for his own unit.
