610 sports DD and Mathis out

Well, it benefitted Carr having DD out last game...hopefully it's more of the same.
I dont think I follow your logic on this one. How does it benefit a team to have their starting running back out?

sad but true, both are out according to 610.

No surprise really. I had pretty much counted them out after seeing Friday's practice report. I had my fingers crossed on Mathis being a gametime decision but it looks like he will be hampered by this all season. It first happened in training camp drills against the Raiders and it doesn't look like he will be able to shake it until he gets a couple months rest.

Carr will more than likely use his WR's instead of his crutch all the time. This is not a knock against DD, it's against Carr. Carr either handoffs to DD or a dumpoff to him. DD might not be as injury prone if he didn't get the ball soo much. When DD isn't in the game Carr actually looks for our WR's. Actually we would be better off if DD was in the game and bench Carr.

I had hopes they would both be in the game and with them I thought we had some chance to pull off the upset, but without Mathis "The Game Changer" (Kind of like that knickname) available and DD's helping to keep Manning off the field, it is very likely to be a LONG game. IMO, the key to our being successful today now resides with how well the backup RBs play. If the
"O" can stay on the field, then MAYBE we have a chance.

The key to winning this game is for us to score more points than we have scored in any game this year.

We need to score more points than we ever score in any game we ever played since we came into the NFL.

I don't think we ever scored 35 poins ever.

Mathis is the most exciting player on the Texans, but I hoped he would be smart and not play. If he was a game-time decision then it means his hamstring is almost okay. By sitting, he helped heal it for the rest of the season.

I have never understood the concept of don't play the good running back so that the quarterback has to use the wide receivers more. Wouldn't a good quarterback or coach know how to use their resources better? The only pesron I that would benefit with Davis out is the guy who got the poor draft pick in fantasy football and got Carr.
