Funky
winning cures all, and we beat a weaker team by 20 points. hard to argue with the results, that's a great way to start the season! this is what i observed without the benefit of replay.

positives ...
- newton looked REALLY good.
- we saw what we're capable of when healthy
- megatron is simply amazing, but he hasnt won the crown yet, a healthy AJ is still the best WR in football. he's lost a step, but it doesnt seem to matter - tons of separation and noone finishes better
- coverage gets better every game
- our offensive line did their jobs and did it well
- good routes by our secondary wr's
- daniels can still find any hole in a zone
- myers was dynamic
- d-bo is probably the best LT in football
- WATT!!!
- cush is the most complete linebacker in football

negatives ...
- do we have OLB's? non factor would be an upgrade, our guys were non existant.
- cohesion - we looked like we needed another preseason game. sloppy everywhere.
- penetration - kind of important in wade's system. we're in a lot of trouble if that's the extent of what our front 7 can do.
- wade smith had a great first season, and at best has been a 4 letter word since.
- scheme, did i see it wrong or did we ignore the zone scheme? i saw an excess of lead, pull, and "power". i dont remember a single stretch and only a handful of plays that would qualify as part of the zone blocking scheme. not surprising since this was an expected win and we know how kubiak wants to buck the trend whenever possible.
- lacked intensity on defense. we looked average ... not the amped up attacking squad that i expected to see, very passive
- we were out of sorts on offense. i cant recall ever seeing schaub that frustrated. he could throw 10 interceptions without losing his cool, but procedure issues will light him up - and he was hot the entire game. leading back to needing more preseason work, we had way too many mental errors.

i had more but the bourbon is catching up with me. what did yall first see?

Foster looked good today, the O-line didnt give him much opportunities...

AJ looked solid and healthy...

Daniels looked good....

Jean looked good when he was out there...

Holliday looked like a pre season star...

Run D looked suspect...

Cushing and Watt looked awesome...

also connor barwin. where was he today? yeah he had a great year, but like half his sacks came in against gabbert in one game.

also dissapeared in our win over the bengals in the playoffs.

Basically what I remember of the game :) Gotta watch the tape again while sober to see what I missed.

Thought KJ had a pretty good game. I wouldn't say pass rush was non existent but neutralized by a good OL. Give credit where credit is due, they made Reggie Bush and Ryan Tannehill look decent. I think DT may finally get another pick in the 1st round next year lol...

The defense made alot of big plays just before halftime.

The offense has a long way to go, before it becomes adequate.

The Texans took care of business and beat a terrible football team, against a rookie QB making his 1st start. As it should be.

Hopefully the offense improves. There's alot of room for improvement. Go Texans

I missed first quarter but seemed to me our Oline pretty bad. Smith completely missed a block that got Matt sacked. With KJ looking good (so far) I revamped my 2013 mock back to OT in first round,NT in second and OG in third. I wish I could draft the Alabama Oline.

An amazing way to end a half.

I thought the offense looked inconsistent and the passing game looked better than the running game. BUT in the first half, Arian was averaging 4 yards a carry; in the second half, he got shut down. We need him to be able to run when the opponent is trying to shut him down.

I thought the defense looked good. They bent a lot but didn't break and didn't give up a TD. The score would have been a little different if they'd gone for field goals when they had the opportunity.

The special teams have to improve. I expected better play from them. BUT... I see now why Ball is on the team. He had a great ST day.

I expected more from K-Mart and Jean but Jean, at least, showed some flashes. Wish he could have hung on to that ball for the TD.

I thought our O-Line looked good for the most part but there were some complete and total breakdowns (Wade Smith.)
