RB -- Jonathan Grimes, Texans -- The Texans are deep at running back, but this kid flashed some in the preseason.

S -- Troy Nolan, Texans -- He is only 25 and he has started six games in two seasons. He will have a lot of interest.

If we hadn't drafted Ben Jones, Koppen would be an interesting guy.

Maybe Essex could displace one of the Ts on the squad.

I hope we can get Grimes onto the PS.

FB -- Jacob Hester, Chargers -- He has been a contributor as a fullback and running back. He can also help on special teams.

WR -- Clyde Gates, Dolphins -- Why is here? Speed. He hasn't played to it, but it's awful enticing.

TE -- Colin Cochart, Bengals -- He lost out to veteran Donald Lee for the third tight end spot. He is a capable blocker for a team looking for that kind of

Didn't know Hester got cut. Will be a nice pick up for someone. Cochart got scooped up by Dallas and Gates to the Jets.

I like Brian Hoyer at QB3 instead of Beck.

I'll grant you Hoyer likely has more upside than Beck (okay MUCH more)
BUT....
How much of a learning curve would there be for Hoyer to pick up our offense instead of the N.E. spread he's been in for the past couple of years..?

And the most important question is: Which guy is more salary cap friendly?

This isn't brain surgery.

Beck is much cheaper. Hoyer got got a 2nd rd tender this offseason. His salary was supposed to be 1.9 mil this yr.

His salary will still be 1.9 mil this year as it became guaranteed the second he signed that second round tender. Having cleared waivers, I believe any contract he may sign going forward will be above and beyond what the Pats are still on the hook for.

I still can't understand how Nolan was cut...
That's certainly a fair question because I can't see how they can rate Keo as being the safety that Nolan is which leaves us to conclude that the Texans must consider him to be that valuable as a ST player.
