They're still on the team. Last I heard there were 55 men still on the roster, meaning two more cuts are coming.

Keo is the in the box safety/hybrid LB they want in dime packages. He's to slow to play deep zones but he should thrive as that defensive specialist. You know who would've been amazing in that role? Pollard. Keo has also been making tackles on teams. I'm not thrilled they let Grimes go though but I get why they kept Keo.

I don't. I haven't seen a Texan watch the rear end of ball carriers more since Matt Stevens. And Stevens had already had 10 knee surgeries before making it to Houston. I'm stunned Keo made the team over Pleasant.

whats wrong with you Chuckster...poor angles and no long speed...nice combination for a S.

Keo...He must have pics of someone doing something they shouldn't be doing. I just don't get it.

Just realized that Nolan was also cut. I hope Wade gets this right. I hope Quin and Manning never get nicked.

I would at least listen to some position/ST excuse for Keo over -----, but Keo over Nolan seems directly wrong.

Gotta admit, I haven't watched much preseason but guessing from posters respones, we're kinda screwed with Keo and Ball making the squad. I know I don't like Nolan being cut, he seems to always find a way to be around the ball.

If we cut Nolan that's a shame, but we were gona have to resign him so maybe we are clearing space for a Barwin or Schaub signing before next Sunday.or just clearing cap period and maybe they have there eyes on a S on the waiver wire

Let's review. Texans thin at D-line with Watt and Cody nicked. Cody was perfect compliment to forward push line. He went sideline to sideline slowing down opposing RB's. Texans got gashed during preseason. Nolan is a ballhawk but maybe the better descriptor would be buzzard. He did one thing well, fall back in coverage and poach balls. Keo is a run defense first SS and special teams head hunter. Holliday showed what havoc the special teams can wreak on weak tackling opposing special teams. Wade Phillips knows the score better than you and me.

Nolan looked just as bad as Keo yesterday.

Keo is garbage compared to Nolan. If he had a bad preseason game o well Nolan is proven and was a good backup, especially when he came in to let GQ move around on the field but like I said has to be a money saving cut.

Hold on! We seriously cut Nolan? So who are our safeties that made it?

Edit: nevermind just saw the final cuts. Wow, big time surprise there and I'm thinking there has to be something we don't know. But I wish Nolan well. He'll be snatched up quick.

Nolan took a pay cut to the minimum back in May. Just a case of Wade not wanting him. Lets not forget that Ball played some safety for Wade in Dallas. He's gotta be a better safety than corner.

You may be on to something there Lucky! He does look much better facing the QB as opposed to running with the receiver in Man.

They cut Nolan? And kept keo?

Man....I'm don't like it, but it's so opposite of what I expected that I'm going to trust their judgement here. Had to have a good reason for that move.

That's what I'm thinking. For them to make such a surprising cut there's something behind the scenes we don't know.

Ya he was making 1.8mil. When James Casey is making 1.9mil and GQ 2.2mil he shouldn't even be close to the number of those two so he was overpayed so a pay cut was needed IMO but o well maybe they have plans to bring some one off the waiver wire

I didn't see Nolan getting cut. I expected Ball to make the team (even though I didn't like it) and after the first couple of preseason games, I thought Keo might have made the team (although I thought he played his way off the team last night.) I wanted Pleasant to make the team.

Like I said in another thread, when I looked at who I thought was going to stick, I ended up with too many DBs. Somebody had to go.

Yep I had Ball as well since he is Wade's baby smh but that's part of the business

Wade made a few decisions I didn't like today. But until given a good reason during the season, I'll hold off judgement.

But keeping Keo, that just upsets me right now. Oh well. We are gonna find out here real quick. Miami isn't that far off now.

These might be Marciano ST-related decisions.

I thought he looked good in zone coverage.

/ducks

Obviously what ever they like about Shiloh has to do with his ST play,
and I didn't realize how important that was until today.

Finally someone has it right. Was beginning to worry there.

Who is almost always the first one down the field on punt coverage?

Keo.

Why is Nading still on the team & DJ Bryant out there in Limbo???
Nading was working at ILB, so his versatility gave him the edge in grabbing a roster spot. How much was Bryant going to be used behind Barwin, Reed, Mercilus, and Braman, anyway?

I think that ability that Nading showed by playing ILB was huge. That, and he's also very active on ST.

DJ might play ST but I never noticed him on the field. Granted, that could be my inattention, but I never did.

Exactly. As much as I dislike Keo as a S I like him on STs. Specifically covering kickoffs he was absolutely unblockable this preseason, made a lot of great tackles at or before the 15 yard line. I doubt it was Wade banging the table to keep it, more likely coach Joe. Now, if he sees time on the actual defense we are in deep trouble.

I personally don't think Nading is any more versatile than Braman, I'd love to see Braman move inside.

Nading is who he is..... twice cut, lucky to have a job. Braman & Bryant still have upside.

Bradie James, Brian Cushing, Tim Dobbins, Mr. Alexander..... how much playing time is Nading going to get at ILB??
