Redskins cut TE Chris Cooley, should Texans be interested?

Ive always liked Cooley

The Texans have enough recieving threats at the TE spot , if anything they need a bruising blocker behind OD and Graham ...

I like Grahm and think he's going to be fine as a TE for us.

But besides that, Washington released him because he wanted to be a starter and he wasn't going to be...

I'm thinking he goes to some team where he can start or at least be a featured part of the offense.

Too many injuries, marginal blocker.

At first, I was like "whoa!" but then I was like "whoa."

Chris Cooley has had a great career and at one time, he was amazink. Him and Dallas Clark. Great H-Back types of TEs.

But like everyone else has said, this guy's heyday is past and he doesn't know it. He wants to go somewhere and be a starter, that's not here. He's never been that much of a blocker, and that's really what we need in our 3rd TE (actually 4th behind Casey.)

If anything, I'd like to find another guy like Casey (athletic FB/TE) who can lead a RB into a hole and make a block but can also get split out wide and stretch the defense as a receiver. Those guys don't grow on trees and I don't think Chris Cooley is that guy.

Old and unreasonable exceptions.

I doubt he plays again. He was a Skins fan growing up and played for them. He literally cried at the press conference.

One of the most underrated player in the league, but I don't know how much he has left in the tank.

Cooley has no place on this team. You guys must still think that Cooley is that guy that was a FF favorite like 5 years ago.

Too old and slow. TE's have evolved over the past couple of years. Everyone's bigger, faster, and stronger nowadays...
