Hello friends of Texans Talk!

We've got a great new tailgate hitting the Yellow Lot this year, Real Steel Tailgaters. We come equipped with a former police SWAT truck (17,000 lbs, 19 feet long and 16 feet tall), 2 55 inch TVs, 2 kegs of beer, jello shots, wine sangria, and fantastic food!

If you are looking for a place to party on a regular basis and to become part of a team, then take a look at this link. We have a few limited spots open for season ticket holders and wanted to let you all know about it because we know where to find the true Texans fans!

Here is the blurb and link from our website. You can also find us on Facebook under Real Steel Tailgaters. We'd love for you to find us, pound the like button and follow all our updates we send out.

Attention Texans Ticket Holders!

If you would like to join RST at our tailgate events, membership is now open and is limited to the first 20 people.

If you do not have tickets to the games, RST party passes will be available on a game by game basis when the season starts. Stay tuned!

We have so many good friends over there, but between running a tailgate and face painting we rarely have time to make it over there any more.

That is one sweet rig.

Your website says you're selling party passed for $120.

I hate to break it to you, but if your pregame party requires an invitation or a ticket or a wrist band or a donation or anything else for entry, then you are not actually tailgating. You're just throwing a private pregame party.

Tailgating is a neighborhood without fences.

Believe me, we are aware of that! Right now we're just trying to recoup the price of the vehicle and start up cost. We are also providing the beer, food, cable package, etc. $12.00 a game for all of that isn't half bad ;)

Our goal is to get to where the tailgate is free. That is the main reason we started this one up. We are for fun, not profit :D

Thanks bpe3, it's been fun to build!

While I understand your point and agree wholeheartedly, Kimmy is right. This tailgate is brand new, hasn't even poured it first beverage yet and there's a lot of money that people of shelled out to get it started. As stated, our goal is to soon be a completely free tailgate, but the banks don't run fence-less, they want their money back, lol.

Now sure, if you want to stop by, have a beer, check out the scores and chat for a bit, by all means, PLEASE come say hi, stay and make friends, there's no charge for anything like that. However, if you want to join and be a member and become part of the team, well, then yes, there are fees to keep it running. There's just no way around that part. All the food, beverage, satellite for The Sunday Ticket, etc. has to be paid for and most of us are teachers with small children of our own.

In the end, this is all for the Texans and their fans, a way for everyone to come together because everyone is welcome....We are losing money, not making money. We are just trying to recoup enough to keep the party going. Hopefully soon, no one will have to dip into their own pocket.

If you're ever out in Yellow we'd love for you to stop by, have a beer, hang out a bit.....No fences, but we are a community with shaded windows on our tents to block out the sun :)

I might try to get put there but the last time I was in yellow I was mesmerized by the preacher man and shotgun 30. But I will try to come see the rig, thanks for the invite and good luck with your memberships.

Sounds like you're on the right track there. Good luck with your fund raising. I'm always on the Yellow Lot grass on game day. I'm sure I'll see you out there.

I'm well aware of the cost involved in organizing a decent tailgate party. It's not cheap. I (with the help of many friends) have personally acquired, delivered, iced down and passed out approximately 100,000 Miller Lites in the Yellow Lot since 2002. Plus ice, plus food, plus everything else. It adds up quick. Luckily we've had a lot of generous folks pitch in to offset the cost.

There's nothing wrong with asking folks to pitch in. It just sucks when folks take it too far and turn their event into a private party with a door man, guest list, wrist bands, etc. Stuff like this has over run numerous parking lots at Longhorn football games in Austin. That's not what the Yellow Lot is all about.
