If the Astros did it why not the Texans.

Now I'm not saying go to the super bowl, but I think this team can turn it around and end the year at 8-8 like I said at the start of the Season. I'm tired of moaning about how the Texans sucks.:texflag: :fans:

Well, the Astros had dominant pitching, so that could carry an average offense. The Texans, unfortunately, have below average Offense and Defense.

I guess if the Texans played a hundred sixty games or whatever it is they might come out as winners....but sad to say they are so far behind the eight ball now as far as playoffs and contending I think most fans are just content for weekly improvement and looking at college players for the draft next spring.

The Astros went to the postseason in 2004 and won their first series in team history. And they won something like 35 out of their last 45 games to make it to the playoffs.

This year they built upon that by never giving up on themselves, but it also helped that they had a decent team with solid pitching.

The Texans, on the other hand, have NEVER had a winning season. Granted, it's only our fourth year, but that doesn't change the fact that they've never experience any seasonal success as a franchise.

Plus, comparing Garner to Capers is like comparing a bulldog to a poodle, IMO.

It's simple. The coaching is not there. I see the potential in our talent. All we need to do is give our o-line steroids and then were good to go!

Basically, the Astros were a baseball version of the Dilfer lead Ravens. Totally dominate in one area of the game. The Texans are at the bottom of the league on both offense and defense.

I would LOVE to see the Texans go 8-8 this year, but it's not gonna happen, not with our current coaching staff. Yeah we just got our first win of the season, let us not forget which team we BARELY beat though. Our problem remains, lets not forget that, even IF we happen to squeak out another win or two.

I would love to see the Texans go 8-8 for the rest of the season. Just point out the teams we are going to beat in the remaining schedule to get 7 more wins. Is it @Jax or @Indy? Could it be the Sundaynight game against KC at home? I'll be honest. The Schedule is formidable for this team. They have serious teams contending for a playoff spot to deal with. I think the only game the Texans have a shot at winning the rest of the season if things stay the same would be on 12/18 against Ari. in Houston.

The Texans travelling way out west to face SF on their turf at the end of the season the Texans never wished happened. Don't count the SF game as a win already.

Pitching got the Astros there.

The defense would have to step up GREATLY for that to happen

I'm w/ you on this one. I never imagined the Oilers going on a win streak like they did back in '93, but they went 10 games. Hopefully the same can happen here. . Go Texans!!!

Texans going making a run for it a going 8-8 would be the worst thing that could happen to a team. It would save Capers job - hello a few more years of mediocrity.

11 in a row, what an awsome year!!!! The 8th win in that run, against Cleveland, was my first Oilers game to attend. Awsome to say the least.:yahoo:

come on. this is the NFL and average to below average teams do not go on runs to win 8-10 in a row. We have to play the Colts people. Do you honestly think we can beat the Colts right now.

COME ON>>>

What is sad is that I posted the schedule and asked people "where do you see the wins" nobody responds. Is it because the reality is too much to swallow at the moment? I think I am realistic whe I say the Texans do not have the talent on the OL or the scheme defensively or offensively to go on a long win streak. Reality check: they barely beat Cleveland.

Here is how i see it. Jacksonville is a tough opponent to read. If Leftwich has an off day, we have a chance. If DD can take advantage of the Jags run D, we have a chance. If AJ can be AJ, we have chance. Otherwise we lose both games to them. Indy is a loss. KC: loss. We cannot hang with the rams passing game. Baltimore has a great D, but an iffy Offense. If we can hang close, we have a chance, but then agian, I am not confident. I honestly believe we can beat Tennessee once this season. I also think we can beat Arizona. SF is a question mark becuase I dont know who starts. if it is ALex Smith we can win. If it is DOrsey, perhaps not. So I think we get back to a 4 win season this year and end up picking 3rd or 4th overall.

That is a fairly reasonable estimate. there are obvious blowouts, unless there are unforseen injuries that happen to the opposition. I thought our best chance for a win was Arizona coming to Houston. The next best chance probably be Baltimore. Following that is Jax @Hou game on Chistmas Eve. :excited: I Think the texans could finish with a 4-12 record. It is more likely to be a 2-14 though. Either way I think we can all geuss what is next. Dom de Dom Dom.
