Assuming Carr is back next year

With the liklihood of a coaching change I hope that a quality QB coach comes in here next year that has worked with an athetic QB in the past. Roman worked with Carolina and had a statue of a QB in Collins.

Carr is what I would classify as a north south runner. His lateral quickness and strength is lacking and these attributes would help him to evade more would be sacks when in or outside of the pocket.

At the very least it would behoove him to work with the DB's in their off season footwork drills.

This may have been done in the past, but I have not seen or read this. Thoughts?

Huh? You blind? 90% of the time he's heading for the sidelines--"Get me outta here!"
No I am not. He is one of the leagues best rushing QB's due to him not having any fear. I believe that he would not have as many sacks and put himslef in position to run towards the sideline if his footwork in the pocket were better.

He is definitely a north/south runner. He is very good when running north/south. He does run into problems when it comes to lateral moves. I would prefer he just run north (forward) as far as possible, then slide. :) Of course, it would be nice to improve on the "side-stepping" of the rush.
Carr should learn to slide. Some of the hits he takes are scary.

Maybe we should move Carr to running back and cut DD and draft a QB then... His running reminds me of Franco Harris, a sideliner for sure...
