Cut and Dry
After yet another very odd first round where players like Brandon Weeden, A.J. Jenkins and Bruce Irvin managed to become first round picks, we sit here wondering who is left for day two of the NFL Draft.

Believe me, there are quite a few shockers who are on this list as potential second and third round picks as we begin to glance at who could be selected on the second day of the 2012 draft.

The Rams dominate the first ten picks, having three available courtesy of trading down twice in the first round (Redskins, Jaguars), and they are on track to improve big time.

Here are some of the notable players to look for early off of the board in the second and third rounds of the 2012 NFL Draft which begins at 7:00pm on 4/27/2012.

For my two cents the starred are favorites, personally I am hoping for any of the following receivers to fall the the 58 but if none of those are there or we don't go wr in the second then the below ol would be great also

Sanu
Randle
Hill
Fleener
Jeffrey

Konz
Massie
Martin
Silatolu

There's a wealth of talent still in the 2nd & 3rd rounds. I'd like to see the Texans gain an extra pick in one of those two rounds, preferably the 2nd. Move up to address another position, I think WR is deep enough in this draft that we'll be ok to take one where we currently sit.

Rick Smith needs to do whatever is necessary to get an extra 2nd round pick, you did it last year Rick. In the 2nd round I want 2 of the following players.

Jonathan Martin-OT or Bobby Massie-OT
Jerel Worthy-DT or Brandon Thompson-DT

Come on Rick you got us two 2nd round picks last year, do it again. One of the above listed OT's and one of the DT's would solidify our O-line and D-line and vastly improve our depth at OT, DT, and DE with the move of Mitchell to DE depth. Come on Rick get er' done.

do u reckon both 4s or a 4 and a 5th would get u a 2nd round pick.
it seems that apart from the first trades involving the top 12 or so picks not much was given up to trade up

If we stay put this might be our guy, JMO. Bobby Massie, OT, Ole Miss. I suspect that Glenn and Martin will be gone.

Here is a scouting report on him at walterfootball.com

Strengths:
Good run blocker
Powerful
Mean streak
Blocks through the whistle
Quick
Athletic
Too big and strong to bull rush
Very quick to the second level
Disguises holds well
Durable
Starter for 2-plus seasons
Very long arms
Recoverability

Weaknesses:
Technique for pass protection
Reaches at times
Can underestimate speed around the edge

Exactly my top 4. Add Fleener to that list for me. I say why not trade next years first for one of those players? We need quality replacements for lost players now. All these guys are worthy of what our first rounder should be next year.

I would really like to see an offensive lineman taken in the 2nd round if a good one is avaliable with our pick.

I dont think there are 26 more impact players. I think the Texans are looking to trade up for a Hill/Randle/Fleener/Sanu/Martin impact player.

I had hoped for Mercilus or Perry in the first and Jenkins, Sanu, or Jeffrey in the second.

But, I must say, if we manage to nab Wolfe or Silatolu in the second I will be doing backflips.

I'd definitely want to double-up on WR in the 3rd and 4th, though. Two of maybe Toon, Broyles, Quick, and Criner.
