Janoris Jenkins

Whomever said that he had a multi-million dollar talent and ten cent intelligent has over valued his intelligence.

if we target i CB early (i.e. first 2 rounds) ill be hoping for Josh Robinson, Central florida.
but i think we could get CB in rounds 4-6

I don't think we'll be picking a CB in this draft. As for Jenkins this guy is just plain stupid. He's one of the guys we'll be reading about that's broke because all his money goes to lots of women for child support and the little he has left over will go for weed. He's a suspension looking for a place to happen.

He had zero shot of being a Texan before this. Our draft picks are fresh and so clean, clean for the most part.

I put him with a team like the Titans or Rams. Low class teams. I only put the Rams there now with their new HC.

The Texans have taken at least one CB in every draft since Smith became GM. Considering the loss of Jason Allen, I don't think that trend stops. I doubt it is in the first 2 days of the draft. And it sure won't be Jenkins, who was likely never on their draft board.

Best cover CB in the draft.

This isn't the mormon tabernicle chior we're talking about here.

Give me JJ over KJ in the event Jenkins is availabe at 26. They wouldn't keep score if it wasn't about winning. Jenkins can help a team win in a short time frame. Talented players are what it takes to win. Jenkins is the best CB in this draft. IMHO.

Can't make a difference if he is suspended for smoking.

That's true, but think about this for a second.

How many NFL players do you think smoke marijuana?

Too many to have a clear picture right?

How many of those guys miss significant time due to smoking?

Indeed, best cb in the draft and someone will gamble on him. I can't see him falling out of the second round even with the character issues. Cowboys, Bengals, someone will gamble on him and win.

Yes, because they've gambled on character so successfully in the past.

Heres a guy who probably failed his combine whiz test and will enter the league already in the drug program. One toke from a suspension. And we have fans that think drafting Jenkins is a "win". Hilarious.

I'd wager my signature for 2013 on it. You game?

Regardless, Mr. McNair's guidelines don't allow for that much questionable character. I tend to agree.

Jenkins is likely to be great. And he's also likely to get suspended in the midst of your team's push for the playoffs leaving you without a replacement option. Losing your starting CB is a killer.

Jenkins is more a nickle cb to me. he lacks size & long speed. great in short area very quick & sticky but doesn't possess the measureables to be a Texan first round CB. Plus we already have Brice McCain & Brandon Harris.

Agreed mostly, but I didn't say Texans would draft him or even look at him. He'll be just fine in a Dallas or Cincy situation, hell maybe even NYG where Coughlin could **** all over him until he straightens up.

As for nickel cb, tell me what Julio Jones or AJ Green did against him in college. He's a beast, to dismiss him as a nickel back is a discredit. Granted he's not close to being the cleanest sock in the drawer, he has skills for days.

Agreed. Dude is a beast.

But I'm all in favor of passing up guys like Dez Bryant for Kareem Jackson type players.

So you don't want to gamble on a Jenkins drug test?

Did I ever imply that he wouldn't be questionable, or that he would start all 16 games? I stated that he is a talented corner and won't be a "bust". Your definition varies from mine apparently. In your eyes then, Cushing and Duane Brown are equally deplorable, both failed drug tests.

In my eyes? That's a crock. Even if (and I said if) Cushing and Brown were cheating, they were trying to get better. Jenkins problems stem strictly from being a screwup. Time and time again. Let the Cowgirls have him. They deserve each other.

Anyway, you answered my question.

The NFL drug test for marijuana and other recreational drugs is a joke. Basically if you stop smoking July 1st then you're good. They only test you once to begin then season and then never test you again. The problem comes into play when guys fail their first drug test. Then you're entered into the program and you're subject to random testing at any time. Stop smoking for a month or so a year then you'll have a no problems with the NFL.

Jenkins hasn't shown the best decision making in the past so it wouldn't surprise me to see him get in trouble for this again. Kid has a lot of talent, and I honestly think he'd improve this team "talent-wise". But he's a very big risk and I don't know if the risk if worth the reward.

Okay gotcha, applaud the guys who knowingly took PED's to cheat and try and get ahead, but **** all over a guy who smoked a little grass recreationally. I don't think he'll piss hot, I'll wager he doesn't get suspended for weed.

So you would rather have a Jenkins than a Cushing or a Brown? Wow. And Jenkins was busted multiple times for weed (as well as assault). Jenkins will be an afterthought in this league quicker than you can say "Pacman Jones".

...a guy who smoked a little grass recreationally...
Holy understatement, Batman!

Throughout this entire thread I've yet to once say I wanted Janoris Jenkins. I stated he won't be a bust as some have proclaimed. I don't know how this is so hard to understand, you seem to be one of the smarter people on this board, re-read my posts if you must because you're harping on something that I'm not talking about.
