Anyone looking forward to seeing the unveil of the Nike NFL Uniforms?

the only thing that's changing is the reebok to nike logo (it will be oversized), and i think theyre gonna make the jerseys a different material. that's about it.

This is the first I have heard about them. :P

I assume no major changes besides material and a check mark. I guess we will see in 2 weeks.

I had seen the last link already, but not the others. Not sure I trust the NFL saying "nothing's going to change", they have a vested interest in people continuing to buy Rebook gear for as long as possible. But thanks for the info, now I'll temper my expectations

Just a quick note, that last article points out that the Nike logo isn't going to be oversized, it's going to be the same size as the Reebok logo

The 3rd link has a picture. Lets hope the Nike Check isnt that big for real. Its not the Nike Dolphins for crying out loud.

No, and the NFL has to sign-off on logo changes (as well as color changes, I think) too. So even if a team says "OK" to a change, doesn't mean it'll happen.

I hate Nike and don't really know at what point or why that generated. Maybe it's all the horribly obnoxious crap they put out and pass as trendy. Shoes look like ass and for the love of all that's holy, the Pro Combat stuff they put out for college teams was mediocre at best (Oregon, Maryland, though I admit to liking TCU's).

If they can keep it simple, great, but they won't and the gigantic swoosh is just an example of that. The NFL has their money so they aren't going to care.

Meh - I'd rather the Reebok jerseys, but if I can pickup some of the surplus Reebok jerseys super cheap, I'll definitely support the move!

My one gripe with the Texans' unis is that I really want to see the logo on the sleeves like other teams have. I think that looks smart and means your showing off your team more than just the little name they have on the chest atm.

Im really excited! I want the Uni's to stay the same, But I would not mind if we go to a white helmet for our 10 year anniversary.

Reportedly there will be no changes to the Raiders' uniform other than the Nike logo; however, these are some cool concept helmets for the Raiders if they ever decided to tweak their uni's.

Did you read the article?

They wouldn't be having an unveil if that's all that was changing.

Doesn't sound like the uniforms will be unrecognizable, but a spokesman did say "we are going to have some fun with it, but respect the teams traditions".

I expect a few notable changes.

I'm looking forward to see what they come up with. I heard its mostly is gonna be different cloth, piping, etc. As Long as they dont look like :clown: unforms I'm fine with them. Those New Ear Draft Day hats are futt bucking ugly IMO. They look like the bootleg caps they sell at the Arab stores, lol.

Speaking of bad jersey/logo ideas

Check this guys idea out for revamped NFL logos. Some, no wait ALL of them are just... :hankpalm: :ok:

Here's what Nick Scurfield said when somebody asked him about the new uniforms for the Texans during a chat in February:

I've seen the new uni's, and they don't look drastically different, but there will be some changes as far as the fit of the uniforms and the way the neck & arms are cut, etc. I imagine they'll be unveiled before too long

The Texans one looks more like Satan than a bull IMO. I do like the Bucs one though. It's a throwback however looks meaner with the current pewter.

im looking forward to the change, reebok seems very dated with their designs. The Texans uniforms are one of the best imo so i hope they saty exactly the same with the nike materials, technology, and cuts to create a much meaner look, like someone posted earlier...

I wouldn't have posted the links if I hadn't read them. I saw what the spokesman said, but I personally believe it's in regards to later changes being made at the team's request after the unveiling.

Interesting, that some players are already talking about changing their numbers with this change of jerseys.
Yep, its an advantageous time to do it as they are contracted to buy out any excess stock from the manufacturer if they choose to do so. Nike won't have any excess stock so they get to do it for free.

One thing I've never understood about NFL teams is why they keep their kit the same for so long.

In soccer they make serious bucks by changing their strip every year, meaning fans have to buy the new kit every season to show their support. Between that and the lack of putting sponsorship on the kit (another massive source of potential income) the NFL is seriously missing out. Not that its a bad thing, just find it surprising.

That is interesting. Like who and why? Is there a link or is this just something you heard?

Peterson outraged over price of number switch

A million bucks just to change a jersey number? Adrian Peterson says Reebok must be out of its mind.

For those of you who don't follow the Vikings' star running back on Twitter, that about covers his message upon finding out that he would have to fork out a mill if he switched from No. 28 to 23, as he desired.

You see, the thought -- or hope, at least -- among players was that they wouldn't have to purchase the existing inventory of jerseys with the number they want to abandon since Nike is taking over the NFL's license from Reebok in April. Peterson was informed Wednesday this policy is still in place, and he posted a detailed 14-post Twitter tirade venting his frustration.

We've cobbled the posts into one giant rant for you. Try to keep up.

"So here is the deal with the number change!," Peterson tweeted. "So I received a call and I was informed that I would've to buy all jerseys that's been produced Thus far! N the total amount that I would have to pay blew my mind!!!!! Why? Ok so I see maybe ten thousand dollars of my total jersey sales! That's it!!! In I know I've mostly likely been in the top ten When it comes to top sales ! Why in the hell do I have to pay a Million dollars to change my number! I don't even get paid a million Dollars by my sponsors a year! Wow!!! N I'm talking about my nike deal!"

He continues ...

"So people may not understand some of the things I say from MY POINT OF VEIW! But this situation says a lot! #1 I'm in the top jersey sales! # 2 I see maybe 10,000 from those sales#3 I get paid under 1million a year#4 but I oder to change MY number I have to pay a Million Bucks! Somebody's winning in that situation & ITs not me! So clearly with that said I won't be changing my number This years! Pay a mill to change number or keep the mill n continue to wear 28?! That's a easy one... Hell 28 it is!!! Lol Someone just hit me saying stop crying! Lol I'm sharing my thoughts! I thought that's what twitter was all about. Anyway I won't be changing My number for the reason you have in front of you! So someone said! You got it just pay it! You must be smoking something to thing I'll Waste that type of money just to change a number on my work uniform!"

In case you didn't get all that, Peterson is still going to wear No. 28 next season, although NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told the Associated Press that the number-switch policy hasn't yet been finalized for 2012.

This is the rant that Peterson tweeted during the above:

If buying NFL jerseys before April, buyer beware
Posted by Mike Florio on January 24, 2012, 7:23 AM EDT

We write this item not to create problems for our friends at the NFL. But our loyalty lies primarily to the millions (and, amazingly, there really are millions) who rely on us for information about the sport they love.

If you love the NFL enough to plunk down some jack for a jersey, replica or official, you probably should wait three months.

In April 2012, Nike takes over the apparel contract from Reebok. And on the day that the switch was announced in October 2010, Nike executive Charlie Denson told Darren Rovell of CNBC that significant adjustments are coming.

“We plan on changing the NFL jersey dramatically just like we’ve done with the college programs, using new thinking and the greatest technology available,” Denson said. “The NFL program hasn’t had the same type of advancement in recent years.

The looming change possibly explains why players like Vikings running back Adrian Peterson are contemplating a number change. Recently on his Twitter page, Peterson mused about shifting to No. 21 or No. 23. (Maybe Peterson knows something that cornerback Asher Allen, who currently wears No. 21, doesn’t.)

In past years, a player-initiated number change would have been met with a requirement that the player refund Reebok for the existing inventory of jerseys with the number he wants to abandon. With the new Nike jerseys coming soon, there’s a chance that it will be open season for the shifting of numbers.

Regardless of whether we’ll see players changing numbers, the jerseys apparently will be changing. And it would make sense to refrain from breaking out your change purse until the new designs are unveiled.

Those look like the fake Chinese knockoffs you see online. Something about the numbers, I guess. Can't wait to see what other changes are made around the league. I may be in the minority here, but I absolutely love the way Nike did most of the college football jerseys. Especially some of Oregon's and the OK State jerseys.

That helmet is actually pretty bad ass looking. I new the Panthers had updated their logo, didn't know about the helmet.

Those Bears uni's look a lot like the leaked pics of soccer shirts you see posted ahead of launch, the ones that turn out to be legit.

You tend to find that such leaks are of early prototypes, which is why the numbers etc look a little off, a lot like the sponsorship and badges would be off on the soccer leaks, but the overall design turns out to be correct.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if these turn out to be legit.

that brandon marshall jersey looks like a retail design, doubt thats what the game uniforms look like..

get ready, theyre coming...

alot of players are tweeting about how badass they look this morning.

Gonna have a round 5 order with the Nikes? If so, I'll jump in.

Probably, but going to wait until after the draft. The online shops won't have these type of jerseys available for a while anyways, so it may not be an option until the end of summer.

Glad to see at least one team changed it up. Is that a "carbon fiber" center to the helmet? Also any word on if Carolina changed the look of their helmets (rumor going around)

Also anyone find any discounts of the old reeboks? Since our design didn't change much would love to find an authentic reebok for cheap.
