Tebow on the Trading Block

According to multiple sources, the Broncos will look to trade Tim Tebow after agreeing to terms with Peyton Manning.

@VicLombardi: The Broncos have already been in contact with several teams regarding Tebow. They've taken the temperature in case this were to happen.

@AdamSchefter: More filed to ESPN: And now that Peyton Manning has directed his agent to get deal done with Denver, Broncos will try to trade Tim Tebow.

Send him to Florida.

Hell, bring him to Texas. Im sure we could find something for him to do.

Can anyone explain to me how trading Tebow is a good idea? He seems like the perfect backup to me (if he's behind someone like Manning). Good attitude. Good teamate. Great to use in trick plays. Cheap (relatively), and no trade value.

This is literally Elways 1 shot to get rid of Tebow. If he leaves him on the roster the fans might go ape **** and attack him.

Tebowmania. I can't see the kid's fanbase accepting him as a back up.

At least Tim can cry himself to sleep in Katy Perry

What are are all the tebowsexuals in Denver gonna do with their #15 jerseys they just bought in October?

The Jags can't fill their stadium. With hometown hero Tebow in a Jag uniform, the Jag fans will return.

If I'm the Jags why would I trade for him when I know they are going to cut him anyway?

Because they won't cut him. They have no reason to do so at this point, and the idea is to get something out of Tebow to help the team win now with Peyton. They have about 3 years to cash in on Peyton's talent, so even a 3rd round pick for Tebow helps the team more than keeping him on the roster.

Khan stated that if he had owned the Jags previously he would've drafted Tebow. Of course we know he said that for the benefit of the Jags fanbase. It'll be interesting to see Kahn's position now.

I see this two ways.

On one hand, I think he'd be a good backup QB to have for all the reasons you just mentioned. Great attitude, great teamate, give him more time to develop, and can come in to the game if needed and still be competitive. Personally, I see him kind of like VY. They both have the God-given talent to come in as a backup and use their natural abilities to compete or win some games.

On the other hand, if Elway & Co. don't think he is the solution for a franchise QB in +/- 3 years when Manning is done, they need to get rid of Tebow and find the QB that they want to be developing during that timeframe. Maybe draft a rookie to groom... but they need to be developing their next franchise QB and now is the PERFECT opportunity. Cut your losses with Tebow if you don't think he's the guy.

The Tebow Nation in Denver will not be happy with Tebow on the bench. Elway either has to cut him or trade him. If I'm the Jags, I'm going to wait it out.

Tebow can still be in a super guaudy uniform if he goes to the Jags....I think they are switching to this uniform for 2012

Tebow will probably end up in Miami, who needs a QB. Those above Jags pics are not the offical uni's for next season. All NFL uni's change to Nike 2012. Those pics are just a fan's idea. I say wait on the fence for Tebow. I would bring him in, if it wouldn't cost too much. Maybe trade Henne to Broncos w/a deal to pick up Tebow and his current contract? Or have Gabby/Henne/Tebow fight it out in pre-season, top 2 stay, loser takes the walk.

Gene Smith has the call, who doesn't want Tebow. We'll see? I see Miami getting him. Remember, last season, the Dolphins home gave vs Broncos, was Tim Tebow day...more Bronco fans/jerseys than Dolphins fans and was a sell out.

So I guess Denver can re-install an NFL offense now?

...See...this...this is why the Texan Bill Appreciation Society exist. Muff-hugga posted what I was thinking before I could. Before anyone says it NO we don't need Teblow's lucky ass. Luck runs out, Yates will be the QB that people think Tebow is now.

Sherman runs a pro-style offense and needs a true QB.

The Jags need butts in the seats more than anything and Tebow would provide an instant boost.

Holy SNAP. I thought I clicked on the "Peyton to Denver" thread. I was going to be pissed if that was Peyton's contract and he didn't sign here for that. HAHA!

Dangit OMT :kubepalm:

It's amazing reading all these tweets that Elway's getting. Some people just amaze me with their stupidity. Sad really

He'll go to Miami or Jacksonville, simply because they'll outbid the Patriots. Which is a shame really, because Tebow could do some damage in Foxboro.

Things must be crazy in Jacksonville. They'll want to get Tebow and I think the Broncos will ask a lot.

I'll trade my half eaten chicharon that has an uncanny resemlance to Pontius Pilate.

Im not making fun of religion, Im making fun of his stooges.

I was thinking fullback myself.
we could bring back that Chris Brown option play
:hides:

Just ducked a neg rep for that one :pissed: kidding.

Spot on assessment OMT.

I think going after Manning and getting him signed confirmed what I thought Elway had to say about Tebow all along was just lip service to the fans.

I think if the Broncos are interested in trading Tebow, do it now while he still has name value and the way he played against Pitt MIGHT suggest he has a solid future as an NFL QB. Though I think most teams already know he doesn't. I don't think he has much more value that maybe a 3rd for a team that is really strapped at QB and hoping to get onto Tebowmanina.

Though I do agree Miami and Jax are likely destinations.

I would like Tebow here as a position player not a QB. The problem is that as soon as Schaub has a bad game Tebowmania would go in full effect.

If Tebow gets cut, he gets 6 million dollars or so. I wouldn't be surprised if he just retired at that point and became a minister or something. The guy doesn't strike me as the sort that needs millions of dollars more than he already has.

I don't think there a many GMs who want Tebow. I think what may end up happening is an owner who's desperate to sell tickets may order his GM to trade for him no matter what the cost. Sort of like what Bud Adams did recently with Peyton Manning. Wherever Tebow goes his psychopathic fans will force the team to start him as QB even if it might not be the best thing for the team.

I thought that was the exact reason that everyone started looking at the Jags and the Fins? Two of the more desperate teams to get attendance numbers (and season ticket holders) up.

I am depressed over the Demeco trade. I think I will go cheer myself up by hanging out at the Jags board.

I have been doing this and it is marvelous. The schadenfreude is thick and hearty, like a home made maple syrup on a Sunday morning. The reasoning is obvious why the Jaguars shouldn't trade actual draft picks for Tebow, but still, watching a poster make multiple arguments based around intangibles, heart, and "just wins games" is fantastic.
