Can BR be a serviceable MLB

With all the moves going on would Brooks Reed be a good LB if they decide to move him there, maybe upon retaining Mario Williams.

I dont see why he wouldnt be a servicable MLB .... if it came to that.

Demeco is still on the roster so no need to move Reed even if they do resign MW (which its looking like they wont).

/End thread.

I don't think there's a need to move Reed to ILB right now but I think if it did happen I think he could handle the position quite well. He's quick and attacks the LOS well.

It seems that the Texans were cutting players to get under the cap. This almost certainly means that Mario Williams will become the highest paid defensive player in NFL history. The Bills owner sent his jet to pick up Williams and there are several teams with a ridiculous amount of cap space. For these reasons coupled with the personnel on our current roster Brooks Reed will surely be starting at OLB next year given some sort of miracle does not transpire. We won't be signing Manning and I'm starting to doubt if we will resign Myers. Just had to get that out of my system. Could Brooks Reed play ILB, maybe. He is certainly big and fast enough.

Why not Braman?

Way to go bro!! Way to interject lucid, well thought out reasoning to ruin a perfectly ridiculous thread...

 Corrosion!!

No, Brooks Reed would not make a good MLB IMO.

Atleast not based on what I saw last year. I don't think he's that type of athlete and when O-linemen get their hands on him he tends to get stuck for a while. That's not a good trait for a MLB.

JMO.

Huh, Brooks Reed will be starting at OLB. On passing downs he might play end but never MLB. This thread is not realistic. It would be like saying Can Arian Foster be a serviceable FB. Just not going to happen. We got Cushing and Ryans at MLB in our base defense and Ryans comes out during passing downs. Even if Ryans is gone, which does not look to happen in the near future, Brooks Reed will not play ILB. This is not realistic.

Well, to be fair, I think the OP was saying if Mario was back (or basically if there was another top tier pass rushing threat that needed to get on the field)...

I think in limited circumstances he could probably play in the middle...blitz up the middle...Simple zone or something...

But I do not think he can be a MLB....I don't think he could play extensive action at that position...

I think we should have started Neil "Bring The Pain" Rackers and Brett "Hitman" Hartmann at MLBs. Screw the other 2 bums we had in there. Hitman and Bring The Pain were knocking fools out last year on ST. Would have been ProBowl MLBs.

Well yeah, but some of us get enjoyment and entertainment value out of the ridiculous.

I get enjoyment and entertainment out of (o)(o)'s and :shots: .... Speaking of which , my wife & kids will be in Galveston this weekend .... Good week to make a trip to "the (o)(o) joint of your choice"

Stupid just annoys me .... :boogereater:

ahhh I knew there was a reason to come back for a visit...

laughter is the best medicine and I surely need some

What do you mean when you write when did our lovable forum become so main stream??? Please elaborate...

What he means is that with the massive influx of new members the quality of posters, posts and thread starters has gone significantly downhill.

Certainly true that there is a positive correlation between new posters such as myself and unrealistic or low quality threads and posts. As for me personally I started following this thread several years ago because I´m a Texans fan and I´m a childhood friend of Old Miss Texan. I did not join until recently because around 2007 I started taking care of my dad during the day and working on my masters at night. After I finished with my studies I came to Costa Rica to start a business. Until recently have I had time to join and start posting. What I´m trying to say is that you are right about the positive correlation between new members and forum quality, but just because you have a ton of posts and or time on a forum does not automatically make you more knowledgeable than a newbie. I am not saying that I should be a GM or know much about football, you probably are much more knowledgeable than myself when it comes to football. I am just speaking in general terms.

I like Brooks Reed. I like Connor Barwin, & you know I like Mario Williams.

But, it would be nice to have some real LBs playing LB. Cushing is ok against the pass... Demeco is a hair under...... if we get another ILB, he needs to be a true LB.
