Bears Acquire WR Brandon Marshall

Marshall with Cutler was huuuuge, before.

Two 3rds for a potential top 10 WR.

Now see if Bears land Mario -- all of a sudden Pack has some competition.

If Mario leaves, please go to the Bears or the Bucs. He needs to get out of the AFC and I can really see him signing with the Patriots as the rich always get richer.

Two thoughts:

LOVE Marshall and Cutler together. That's bad ass.

And what if this paves the way for Manning and Wayne to go to Miami? Maybe they're clearing space and money for those two.

That is a great move for da Bears. They are really trying to keep pace in that division and adding Marshall is going to help.

Great move for the Bears. Gives them flexibility with their 1st round pick too. Don't know how they got Miami to part with him for nothing higher than a 3rd.

Bad move by Miami. They needed to hold onto him, but if you're going to give him up at least get a 2nd and a 3rd.

I heard the Bears may be interested in Winston as well.

He could go from being the worst guy on the best line in football to the best guy on the worst line.

I bet Jay Cutler would be extatic to have a run blocking tackle who gets caught out in the passing game given the lack of pass pro Chicago scheme.

what the hell is extatic??

j/k

I'm not a Winston fan, I've said this repeatedly. However, as far as his pass blocking goes.... as long as he isn't having to deal with fast outside rushers like CM III or Cliff Avril, he'll be ok. He can handle the big power guys pretty well.

CM III & Cliff Avril would only play against him 4 times a year, so it isn't that bad.

The poor protection was not all on the players. You have to look at Mad Martz's play calling as well. Too many 7 step drops and no audibles at the line of scrimmage. The play that goes in is the play thats run.

Hey manc long time no see! Hows it going?

Anyway, yeh they've moved on from Martz and trying to get Winston is obviously an attempt to improve the personnel as well. Still, Eric will be right back in the same situation as when he started in Houston being a piece of a poor line trying to improve. Took a few years to get things going in Houston so it'll be interesting to see how da Bears handle things.

hi mate - I'm good. Just been really, really busy at work.
Bears need a decent RT, and I thought Winston was ok. They'll also get the guy they drafted last year -LT Gabe Camiri back as he only played 2 games because of injury and I think they lost someone else to injury.

Tice has said they will be a power running team....
