All this "draft Bush and trade DD is funny"

DD is so friggin good its not even funny! Do you reallly think Bush would come in and have the seasons that DD has had with this team. If you do, you are either a bad judge of talent or severly brain damaged...
But if you guys choose to trade DD... PALEASE trade him to the Packers...
:-]

DD is CRAZY SCARY GOOD! Are you guys not watching how HARD he works and Runs?

I think DD is a good solid player and a terrific 4th round pick, the best draft choice made by Casserly for the Texans. Having said that, I don't think he's nearly as good as you do. He broke a long run against the Titans but was caught from behind. He runs hard, but isn't fast. His blitz pickup could be better also.

At any rate, I want to trade our first pick down for a collection of picks and/or players, including another high #1 so we can get a stud OLT.

DD would be more than adequate for our needs behind a good OL. Same with D. Carr.

A solid and consistent OL can make even average players into winners. Add in a good defense, and even players like Trent Dilfer can win a Superbowl ring.

I think people in the Bush camp do not think of him as a running back but more as a steve smith type number 2 or number 1 receiver.

NO. I would expect alot more being the #1 overall draft choice. DD has been a great 4th rd pick who has exceeded all expectations, but not 1st rd talent.

I definitely agree that DD is good, just not quite fast enough. With all the good OLs coming out in the draft this year and seeing all the needs of the Texans, I would definitely trade down to look at getting a couple good linemen and another speedy wideout to compliment Johnson to get some of the pressure off him.

I think he implied mathis on the fact he said "another speedy wideout" . I doubt he was talking about bradford. Bush would be that wideout. I am not in the Bush camp or any camp for that matter until after workouts. I got caught up in the draft hoopla last year and was very dissapointed by the Texans I will not let it happen again. So expect my my Mock right before and after individual workouts.

uhhh Mathis?
I have yet to see Mathis play other than special teams so I can't really count him until Dummy Capers actually utilizes all his players. Bradford and Gaffney neither will help get the pressure off Johnson so until the Texans address this issue, passing the ball will be a problem.

According to the coaching staff Mathis doesn't know the offense as yet. Ah, how long have we been playing football? To me Mathis was AJ's savior, but that certainly has not materialized nor has it had an opportunity to materialize. Some of it seems to be because of injury, but it certainly looks like there is some other factor involved. As always if you do not cross your t's and dot the i's in the view of this coaching staff, you do not belong on the field. Armstrong and Mathis can both catch the ball well - they have good hands - so you have to play someone like Bradford who has no hands to give the other team a chance. This coaching staff is so bad I don't know how you can judge players or Casserly. No, I don't know Casserly, I just think this coaching staff is that bad.

They also got rid of Swinton, Starling, Kasper and the receiver from Texas. We keep Hollings as a result. I liked Kasper, because he played at NE, had excellent hands and had made some spectacular catches particularly in the red zone. I have yet to figure out the logic of this staff, particularly in light of the fact we were trying to find a #2 receiver to take the pressure off of a AJ. Now what is even worse is we have no go to receiver since AJ is injured. Once again, no matter where you look, you will see a total lack of development and improvement in any player. I must admit DROB must be an absolute miracle.

Ibar I am with you on the coaching staff, but Kasper, Starling, Swinton, and Sloan Thomas(receiver from Texas) are guys that should not be on this team. Sloan Thomas and Swinton produced, but with Morency and Mathis I understand him being cut. Sloan Thomas just went out and made plays, but he did not know the offense and was considered worst than Mathis and Armstrong. Starling and Kasper are just not overly good and they are primarily practice squad players that is why they are not playing now.

Judging by the impromptu press interview that McNair had, I would say that Capers is gone in a matter of days. We'll have to see come this Sunday.

Casserly needs to go. His drafting has been horrible, his trades have been horrible, and his free agent signings of high priced offensive linemen who can't block have been horrible.

Glad that is only your opinion. I agree that we disagree on this for sure. Either Bush or Leinart. We have to get one or the other....

We definitely don't need Leinart. Carr is a capable QB with a strong arm, he just needs a O line that can block for him and give him more than 2 seconds to throw the ball.

for everyone that thinks we need to draft bush, and think that dd is not quit good enough, why would we spend a pick on bush when rb's like edge james and jamal lewis are going to be freeagents. i would rather sign some one like edge than draft bush and spend that draft pick on the oline.

All you folks out there who want to draft Leinart or Bush, WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!! If Bush had more ability than Barry Sanders he wouldn't get many yards behind our line. Michael Vick would hold the record for being sacked the most if he were protected by our line. All these years of minimal effort to fix that Oline have come back to bite us in the a**. I have said it before and I obviously have to say it again: THE 1ST 3 ROUNDS OF THE DRAFT SHOULD BE SPENT ON O-LINEMEN!! Not a QB we don't need, a wideout we don't need as much, trying to upgrade our rRB corps (NE just won 2 Superbowls with out big time RB's) If we keep the same line as go about business as usualwith our O-Line, Leinert and any good RB could possibly pull an Eli Manning (Do NOT DRAFT ME, I WILL NOT EVEN NEGOTIATE A CONTRACT) As much as Leinert whined about being hit by an ASU lineman late for an entire week after the fact, I don't think this guy likes getting hit and with our current line, that would happen early and often. He might even break CARR's sack records. FIX THE LINE FIRST AND FOREMOST! That is unless you want to be worse than the AZ CArdinals at something.

Wreck'em Ŧech!
All these Capers wannabes talking about drafting Bush, or drafting Lienart. How about we draft a lineman? Because obviously, ignoring this huge need at O Line has us on pace to set the NFL record (AGAIN!!!). Obviously, this season is an indication that no matter how good of skill players you have, they cant do anything if theirs no blocking up front.

I think it's great that you're such big Domanick Davis fan and I think the world of him myself. I have to question the idea that he's "crazy scary good" because in two plus seasons of watching his every move (over and over again) I just haven't seen that. He's good and with great blocking he'd even be what I'd call very good. He's absolutely no threat to become great though.

No reason to draft Bush though. I very much hope the Texans are smarter than that and all the "Draft Bush" noise has me confused too. We don't need him. We need an offensive line.

After the "...." you should have added "killed" because that's what we're doing with Carr now and without an NFL quality line that's what will happen to Leinart. Bush will look no better than Davis behind the line we field today so in another couple of years you'll be saying "We need to draft either _______ or ________ because Leinart (or Bush) was a bust."

what would bush do if were hit BEHIND the line of scrimmage atleast 3/4 of his runs? dd's rushed for more than 1000 yards twice in two seasons with that scenario. can bush break 2 tackles BEFORE hitting the LOS and then put on his "he's the next barry sanders!!!" act? survey says?!?!?! sorry folks. bush isnt going to do much for this current team IMO. with this offense, he's tony hollings ... without the fumbles.

So you want another 1st pick QB to demolish? Draft a line and if Carr cant produce THEN get a new QB.

I disagree completely. We should draft a high profile QB now, sit him for a year while we repair the line. And who knows, with a new Head Coach and crew, this O-Line may get on the ball and learn some blocking schemes that work. I do not blame the O-Line entirely for this hectic season, I blame the coaches. I say it over and over and it falls on deaf ears, without coaching, players cannot perform. DD will never be the back most of these fans are making him out to be. Heck I am 50 and give me the ball 500 times a year and I will even break the 1,000 yd mark, if I don't get killed first...... DD is nothing more than a 4th rd pick, not some arch angel that everyone is making him out to be.

We have lot's of needs. Left Tackle, RB, QB, and a WR to compliment AJ. Let's not blow a draft deep in O-Linemen by trading down. That is plain ignorance.. IMHO of course..

Davis is the only person producing anything on the offense right now. Behind the crap line I would have to say he is damn good. I say draft some linemen that want to play. They can't even defend against 3 men up front. With a good line I think Davis would put up huge numbers. The fact he got 100 plus yards on any game this season is amazing. He may not be the fastest, but he works hard and makes yards. He averages 4.2 yards a carry and 7.2 yards a reception. I say they aren't using him enough! :texflag:

I think we should draft bush then trade him to another team who severely needs a runningback for a high profile player. For instance trade him to arizona for anquan boldin. As for DD hes a power runner. Look at Jamal Lewis back in the day. He wasnt that fast but he ran with tons of power and was concidered one of the best during his year.

Wooooooooo there buddy. I really dont understand football fans these days we say that the o-line could getr on the ball. It doesnt take and o-line 3 years to get on a freakin ball.

Oh adn what you dont see about DD is that he is the second best play maker on the offense behing AJ. He has great balance and breaks tackles behind the line and even puts up numbers behind an at best average run blocking team. Reggie Bush has been blessed to have had a great O-line and a great QB to take the pressure off of him and he WILL NOT PRODUCE in our current offense.

Example: ADRIEN PETERSON, oh dont all yall remember him. Remember when he was the best theing since sliced bread, oh hes still an amazing RB, but with no passing game and no good o-line he ends up hurt and on the bench averaging like .3 yards a carry.

Oh and so we draft a high pro-file QB(like we did in 2002) and fix the o-line later(like were trying to do now). So basically you want to bring in Matt Leinart to break David Carrs sack record that hes gunna set this year. I see.

The only thing he will be breaking is his bones. He would have to survive more than half the season to break any of Carr's records.

Reggie Bush and Domanick Davis seem like they have the same style of play.

Both of them are quick and can dance better than the Jackson 5, but they still have good leg strength and can force through the line if the have to.
They both are excellent receivers as well, which to me is impressive for a running back.

I think Reggie Bush is a better more fundamentally sound back, but maybe thats because he recieves more publicity than any other college player.

Domanick Davis, Vernand Morency, Jonathan Wells, and Tony Hollings provide an excellent set of running backs...if we use them the right way. They all have their different strengths. Davis can catch, Morency has great speed, Wells has alot of power, and Hollings keeps the bench warm for them when they are in the game.
