Hey, I'm watching a LSU-Miss St. game to check out some guys and I noticed the C from Miss. St. who was shifted to RG during the game (due to an injury to the RG). They said that he had started at 4 different positions (everywhere except LT.) He had started every game for the Bulldogs after his Rs season.
NFLdraftscout projected him to go in the 4-5 round.

He checked in at the combine as followed:
Quentin Saulsberry 6'2, 304 lbs, arm-length 33-3/4

This is the first time I've watched him play (focusing on him).
He looks really trim and fit, with good base/lower body.
I think he can put on some weigh if need to.

I've only finished the first half against LSU (which is as good an opponent as any to go against.) He was in one-on-one for the most part and held his own really well.

I won't have much time during the days.
Can you guys keep an eye on him, thanks.

Top 10: Best bets to put on combine freak show

The NFL combine kicks off this week, meaning it's time for the league's annual freak show. This week's Top 10: The former college players with the best shot of lighting up Indy with their testing numbers. (Note: A few guys I had considered for this list, such as Stanford TE Coby Fleener, I didn't include because it has been reported that he is not working out in Indy. In Fleener's case that is due to an ankle injury.)

1-Robert Griffin III, Baylor, QB: The 2011 Heisman Trophy winner proved over the past year he's a lot more than just a guy who happens to have world class speed as a hurdler. RG3's exploits as a college QB are now well-documented. Griffin not only blossomed as a quarterback, often doing his damage as a pocket passer but he also has filled out quite a bit since coming to Waco and is a solid 6-2, 220. However, he still has wheels like few others at any position. QBs, especially ones with arms like Griffin has, almost never run sub-4.6s in Indy, RG3 should blow that away. Earlier this week RG3 told Dan Patrick there's a possibility he will go sub-4.4. Given his track credentials, it'll be surprising if he doesn't.

2-Zach Brown, UNC, OLB: There will be many bigger linebackers in Indy but none faster than the Tar Heel. Brown is amazing athlete. Before arriving in Chapel Hill he had a 29-0 record as a prep wrestler with 17 pins. He also ran for over 1,500 yards as a high school senior. In his first time running the 40 as a Tar Heel, he started coaches by clocking a 4.28.

Brown has spent the past six weeks in South Florida working out with trainer Tony Villiani, who says the Tar Heel "will be bigger than people think he is. He's not going to be that small weakside linebacker. The goal is for him to be low 4.4s or under. People know about his speed but normally guys who are that fast hey may not be as agile too. People who watched him at the Senior Bowl know he's both."

3-Trent Richardson, Alabama, RB: The former 'Bama star has it all: size, power, moves and sprinter's speed. Pound-for-pound Richardson, who has benched almost 500 pounds and cleaned almost 400, might just be the strongest player in Indy. Don't be too surprised if he also proves to be one of the fastest and most explosive too.

4-Tommy Streeter, Miami, WR: After a few years of teasing 'Canes staff with his potential, the 6-5, 216-pound junior had a breakout season in 2011. Streeter opted to leave early after his one big year, and with his size and exceptional speed, he has the chance to shoot up draft board this week. Scouts don't expect to see a guy his height so fast, but remember he's been one of the fastest men in a very fast program from the day he arrived in Coral Gables. (Two other UM speeders, Lamar Miller and Travis Benjamin also could've made this list.) Those close to the UM program are expecting some big things this week from Streeter, who has a chance to shock scouts with just how fast he actually is. Last year's fastest man in Indy, DeMarcus VanDyke, a former Cane CB who got drafted by the Raiders after he blazed the fastest 40-time at the Combine, told me a few weeks back that Streeter could duplicate his showing this year.

5-Janzen Jackson, McNeese State, DB: The former five-star recruit had some great moments as a Vol, but also was plagued by off-field issues at Tennessee. No one ever doubt his athleticism though. He finished his college career back in Louisiana at McNeese and will be looking to get back in scouts good graces with a big showing in Indy. Jackson's pre-combine workouts in Louisiana have impressed his trainer, former NFL player Wyatt Harris:
"I have trained some great athletes here at Sonic Boom. People like Marques Colston, Robert Meachem, Tracy Porter, Jacoby Jones and Devery Henderson, and I have never had an athlete like him here," Harris told Houma Today. "He is the best athlete that's ever trained at Sonic Boom. His athleticism is freakish and his speed, quickness and ease of movement are at the very top of the athletic ladder. He applies all that athletic ability to the football field. He is just not a great athlete, but he can play a high level of football also. He is going to knock the socks off of these other safeties he tests against at the combine."

6-Mike Martin, Michigan, DT: The former standout high school wrestler and shot putter has talked recently about besting Stephen Paea's 49 reps of 225 in the bench in Indy. Given Martin's rep in the weight room, it wouldn't be a shock if he did. Going into last season, he'd already put up impressive marks of benching 505, squatting over 700, power cleaning 430, hang cleaning 475 and run the 40 in the 4.9s.

7-David Wilson, Va. Tech, RB: Everyone around Blacksburg has been raving about this guy's explosiveness for years. Some of that burst as well as his determination was evident in the 205-pounder breaking some 150 would-be tackles en route to rolling up almost 1000 yards after contact in regular season play in 2011. In training at Tech he's been clocked in the 40 at 4.29 and vertical jumped 40.5-inches, according to the school. Those kinds of jaw-dropping numbers often draw skepticism, but keep in mind this is also a guy who earned All-American honors in the triple jump. It's rare to see a guy broad jump over 11-feet in Indy, you'd have to think Wilson is primed to go long here.

8-Dontari Poe, Memphis, DT: Another serious contender to put on a show when he gets on the bench press. Poe is a mammoth inside presence with surprisingly good agility, the 6-5, 350-pounder is a powerhouse in the weight room, having power cleaned over 400 pounds, benched 500 and squatted over 700 pounds.

9-(tie) Jarius Wright, Arkansas, WR: The fastest Hog was also one of the most underrated receivers in the country. He has a good chance to create some more buzz if he can come close to the 4.27 40 time the Arkansas coaches say he clocked last spring. His times in the shuttles also could be head-turning.

9-(tie) Bruce Irvin, WVU, OLB-DE: A pass-rushing specialist Irvin plays super fast. According to some of his teammates, he also times that way too. They swear he can run a sub-4.4 at 235 pounds. The question is how much heavier will he been in Indy and has he retained that speed?

80" wingspan and 10" hands is pretty man-ish...
It appears all that pre combine talk about him(Jeffery) ballooning up was a bunch of hooey. Showing up underweight for a quicker 40 is evidence of self discipline -- moves up the board on that.

Totally disagree as Jeffery did balloon. He has gone on crash diet after all the negative comments. Radio guy Charlie Pallilo (best on air imo) said this week teams will be wondering what he will do with NFL contract paying him millions. To me not remaining on top of his weight his pre-draft season is almost as irresponsible as Floyd's issues with alcohol. I sort of expect linemen to have weight issues not WRs.

the bolded is ridiculous...Micheal Crabtree's wingspan coming out was supposedly the best of any wideout pre 2004; measured at 34.5 or something like that. If this dude's wingspan is 80 i wonder what that projects out to arm length wise

........:thumbup. Now all i need for him to do is run a high 4.5 40 & that'll all but ensure him falling to us imo.

6'3" 216 is good sized. Especially with his ability to get the ball. And his hands are huge.

Now, I am actually worried about him being taken ahead of us.

WR Notes from Nick Scurfield:

Kendall Wright, WR, Baylor (5-10, 188)
Wright was asked about competing against taller receivers for a draft spot. “I have attributes besides height that make up for it,” he said. “I can jump really high, I can run really fast, I can accelerate. I can do a lot of things.” Wright said he sees himself as similar to DeSean Jackson and Steve Smith, smaller receivers who “play fearless and explosive at all times.”

Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame (6-2, 220)
Floyd listed Andre Johnson along with Larry Fitzgerald and Calvin Johnson as big receivers that he really likes. He was asked about his off-field incidents, which include a DUI in March and two prior alcohol-related offenses in college. “Just immaturity,” Floyd said. “You know, people all the time have mistakes like this. Unfortunately, it happened to me on a big stage going across the nation. It’s about moving forward. It’s about making sure you don’t make the same mistake again and just keeping a positive head and staying on the positive side of things.” Floyd said he went to alcohol classes at Notre Dame and started going out less after his incidents.

Stephen Hill, WR, Georgia Tech (6-4, 215)
The big-bodied receiver anticipates running a blistering 40 time. “I’ve been clocked in the low 4s, 4.4s,” he said. “I’m thinking about running a 4.3 but, you know, whatever happens on Sunday happens.” Hill said he had a 40-inch vertical as recently as two weeks ago.

Alshon Jeffery, WR, South Carolina (6-3, 216)
Jeffery weighed in much lighter than the 230 pounds he played at in his final college esason. He said he lost the weight by “just working hard, just eating right. I just feel like I’m in shape and feel better, like a lot lighter.” Jeffery said he hopes to run a 4.4 or 4.5 40 and that he thinks he has the best hands in the draft.

Now Jeffery hedging on whether he'll run or not...

Jeffery is perplexing. He's shed 15-30 pounds since January, depending who you ask, but he's not running? Cut lbs just to step on a scale?

that ladies & gents is a red flag :mcnugget:

It seems TE are getting shorter. Not seeing many over 6' 4" .. I prefer the bigger TE like Gronk. If they can block and catch across the middle.

QBs are killing this 50 yard drill

Streeter bad miss

Sanu body control but bounced off his hands

Wright looks good ... Julio Jones good

All Alshon Jeffery did at Combine was weigh in & interview. Per Tony Pauline, scouts said Jeffery interviewed poorly:

Not good.

Alshon Jeffrey seems like nuclear waste at this point. I'd be very hesitant to draft him in the first round even if I was the Giants or the Pats.

Anybody ever heard of this Steven "4.3 flat !" Hill before ? And he's like 6'4"
& 220, out of GA Tech. He also looked good in the pass catching/pas route skills for the WOs.

Blackmon seems to play bigger than he is, but he measured just 6 feet and seven-eighths of an inch, and 207 pounds.

Disappointing, but doubt that it's enough to drop him as the top WR, assuming his 40 time is not that bad (he didn't run the 40 today - hammy they said).

He's not running the 40 at the combine, I'm sure he'll run it at his pro-day though.

Have to watch it through again to pick up Hill -- NFLN doesn't do a good job of ID'ing who's up during drills or they talk through too many reps.

I don't like Blackmon as much as others do.

Looks like a lot of hit or miss WRs -- poor body control -- balls popping loud off hands. Speed w/out skills.

How much can be coached into them versus what just isn't there?
-------

Interesting that Luck's athleticism numbers equaled Cam Newton's from last year.

RGIII -- love the kid, amazing athlete, what a great attitude.

C'mon, no one "in years" but this kid thinks about things like this...?

Some Ga Tech fan on the MB said he's got bad hands.

Has the skills and athleticism to be a great receiver... Tech's leading receiver as a sophomore in 2010... has shown flashes of brilliance in his first two seasons... was one of seven true freshmen to see action in 2009... has great size and uses it well to seal smaller defenders, and has exceptional hands... shows outstanding speed for a player his size.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
That's the Tech bio page on him. He is a very impressive athlete who has Andre Johnson like combo of size/speed.
Re his hands, he caught everything thrown his way in the pass-receiving drills and made it look easy at todays Indy combine. Plus with this guys impressive size, surely he could block downfield for Kubiak, something he expects from his WRs.

Wright's 40 time definitely didn't help his stock today... Maybe he'll make it to our pick after all!
