What outcome would you rather? (For end of season)

What season outcome do you hope the Texans 'achieve'

  • I hope the Texans lose enough games to get the 1st pick in the draft. It will sell high!

I think if we win, then we don't need the first pick in the draft. If we get some good playing out of the last 11 games, we could get a medium draft pick, make some key FA acquisitions, and be contenders.

I would rather the Texans win all their remaining games and head to the playoffs. Since that's unrealistic, I'd rather see them compete in each game. I'm ready for a change in the Texans staff. Capers and his staff for sure. Casserly is "Riding the Pine". If the Texans winning 6-8 games will retain them for 2006, I'd rather that not happen.

Couldn't care less about what pick we have in the draft. I just want to see us have 1 SOLID draft from rounds 1-6.

time to shelf the 5 year plan and its architect's. this team was built to be competitive early using competent jouneyman NFL players ie Sharper, Walker, Glenn, Payne, Coleman etc......but it did'nt take long for Casserly to start monkey'ing around with the 1st day picks opting for once again established jouneyman players instead of building the team with talented, bpa.

right now my best solution would be to pry Pete Carrol away from USC (I believe USC is due a significant fall after this year) to replace Casserly. I think he knows talent, has been exposed to the best talent and would be an excellent choice to re-build the Texans, not to mention which one to take with the 1st pick. then hire the best NFL assistant coach who deserves a shot & who understands how to play and win in the NFL. a nice complement to Carrols offensive mind would be a defensive coach with Texas roots as added bonus, maybe some of you have already guessed who? yeah thats right its got to be Jerry Gray, defensive coach of the Buffalo Bills.

A native of Lubbock, TX, Gray holds a bachelor of science degree in speech communications from the University of Texas…he was a two-time consensus All-America and two-time Southwest Conference Defensive Player-of-the-Year as a safety at Texas in 1983 and ’84…was a 1st round pick in 1985 (21st overall) of the Los Angeles Rams…a member of the University of Texas’ All-Time Team and All-Decade Team for the 1980’s…lettered in football, basketball and track at Estacado High in Lubbock…was inducted into the Texas High School Hall of Fame in 1995 and was recently named to the All-Time Texas High School team…he and his wife, Sherry, have one son (Jeremy).

I want to win every game. I mean what the hell is wrong with you people that want to lose. Capers and Casserly are likely gone regardless people. Understand that the team is stagnant right now and unless we win 10 games they are out of here. Casserly might be able to hold on, but Capers is likely gone.

There should be an option for winning and not keeping Capers/Casserly

i agree with you Capers is not a winner he has made bad decision and no moves to make this franchise better i still wonder how good our o line would be like if we would have pic willy roaf instead of no arms tony besile. The rockets and the Astros didnt start winning until they replaced there coaches and both been in the playoff every year since they changed coaches

I played football for 10 years and have been on some really great teams.. and some really horrible ones. The one thing that remained constant througout the years is that we went into every game trying to win. Football isnt worth playing if you're not going out there doing whatever it takes to come away from the game with a "W" :texflag:

Good poll with the proper options. If we were to win out, it would be reasonable to assume we would keep Capers/Casserly. It would not be reasonable to win out the rest of the games and then fire every body, especially when you consider an 11 - 5 team would probably make the playoffs.

I would not be suprised to see everybody come back if we went 8 - 3 over the final 11 games (making us 8 - 8 overall). Of course 3 - 8 is a more realistic outcome for the rest of the season and everybody will be fired in the end.

I cant say I want to see us lose all of our games but I would like to see us get first round draft pick next season. I guess I could go either way with it but because of the situation were in now and the hope that I have of use being a good franchise in the next few years I am going to go with the first rd draft pick.

Carroll was a defensive coach before arriving at USC. The offense you see the Trojans running is the work of Norm Chow (current Titans' OC...legendary offensive mind). Same reason I don't want Gary Kubiak in Houston. He has the title of OC in Denver but it's Shanahan's offense and it's Shanahan that's calling the plays during the game. I'd rather see how Kubiak can handle a head coaching position on any level first (he turned down the HC position at the University of Colorado before Barnett got there).

And I'm not sure why Gray would want to make a lateral move (from one DC position to another) when his name would be on the head coaching short list of several teams at the end of this year.

Keep Carroll in California. I'd rather not have him in Houston. I'd be all for Gray taking over the reins though.

Well I will say it...

Lose every stinking game left and get the number 1 pick of the draft. 1st and 2nd rounds are as good as all of last years picks. Fire Capers at the end of the season. But who do we get? Bush or Lienart?
