I went salary in august of last year, got to see every game for the first time ever. My salary job i make about 70K a year which is 25K less a year than when i was hourly, but get to see all the games. I had planned to go back hourly after football season. BUT i am so pumped about next season i cant picture missing a game so i'm staying salary. Now how sad is that ?

Gotta love our team guys, anyone ever think of how much you alter your lifes for the team you love ?

for the sake of you being able to continue being a fan, choose the option that keeps you employed! (which is most likely salary anyway)

DVR - $200.00

$25000.00
<200.00>
_________
$24,800.00 or "retirement" (since you are 27, multiply that x 30 years please) :fingergun:

yeah it sounds dumb i know, but its far more exciting watching it live than it is if i DVR it and already know the score.

Well, I DOUBT that his decision has ONLY to do with the Texans but is an overall quality of life decision as well. I know I could make more money that I do but choose to have my job the way it is so I can spend some time doing things I like, like watching football and spending time with my wife/kids.

LMAO! I was thinking the same thing and then I saw you had already posted it. I'd take the money. I'm sure your job provides you with vacation, and then you can actually use some of that extra money to buy season tickets to go to the games on your vacation time. The times you can't go, DVR it and tell anyone who tells you the outcome of the game that they will get tazed until they crap themselves.

Do I need to say it again....I would have taken the money. :fingergun:

Four years goes by in a flash. Both Schaub and Kubiak have been here longer than that.

So after another four years of watching football under the arrangement that you described, do you really think that it will have been worth $100,000? If so, I would say you made the right decision for yourself.

correct but the texans also helped me make my choice. Hourly i worked about 70-90 hours a week and was never home, salary i get to be home every night and see my kids A LOT MORE. BUT still i also considered the texans while making my choice.

Not bull ****. Dude is actually getting me a job with the company he works for. He's giving up some money for time off to spend with his family and to enjoy his interests (mainly football). Personally I wouldn't do it, but I completely understand where he's coming from

Edit: when did **** become censored?

Not to mention, anyone who works for a corporation, there are some perks when you move to salary. Also, what are you working 40-50 hours a week, adding years to the end of your life by not being as stressed? Someday, people will figure out it is not all about money. Then, they may be happier.

As someone pondered earlier, are the Texans worth $100,000? I think the added time with family and the additional years on the back end are worth quite a bit more. That's the screwed up perception of society these days. Money over everything, yet some of the richest men in the world are depressed and lonely. Hookers and drugs won't keep you going forever...

yeah i went from 70-90 hours a week of manual labor to 40 hours sitting behind a desk. Saving my body, keeping my sanity and seeing my kids grow up. It is def worth it. But another highlight is seeing every texans game, i loved getting to know i was gonna get to see the games, and it makes the week go by faster.
