I feel bad for the Ravens fans

that one hurt. i had a sizeable amount on the ravens as SB winners @ 7/1. wouldve hedged and made a few week wages if lee evans could catch!

I posted this is another thread but the Ravens loss was just like the way the Texans would lose circa 2009-2010. All that work to get into FG range and he shanks it! Stupid Kris Brown!

The big question now is how much does Ray Lewis have left in the tank? You can't defy age forever. This was a great chance for him to reach another Super Bowl. I don't think Baltimore will make it back to the Conference Championship game next year.

I feel worse for myself being subjected to a Pats Superbowl appearance. Brady love in the media is a little sickening. Imagine if it turns into an all East Coast Bowl???? BSPN will have a field day.:gun:

The Niners are going to have to win this game. The Superbowl rematch, Brady taking on the younger Manning in the House his big brother built. I wont be able to stomach it.

To me this Pats/Giants Super Bowl isn't going to be hard to stomach so much as it will be uninteresting.

There is no real compelling storyline, the only things anyone will say about the Giants is "Well the Jets predicted a New York team in the Super Bowl...", or "Is Eli Elite? We will ask this question for the 46681681684654 time right after this!"

Whereas the Pats are looking at "Tom Brady is so awesome. How awesome is he? We'll tell you after this commercial break!", or "Will the Pats defense let them down?"

The last matchup was a great one because it was the underdog vs. the powerhouse. This time I guess you could make a slight case of intrigue for the "rematch" but honestly I don't see how the Giants lose this game unless they're too beaten down from the 49ers game.

At least the current Baltimore team playing in the old Baltimore teams' stadium had some interest level there. Frankly, the Giants and the Patsies mean nothing to me. Even as small as it may have been, at least with either the 49s or the the Ravens I would have had something to be interested in.

I doubt I'll watch the super bowl this year. The best of the commercials will be avaliable on the internet, so no need wasting my time watching them live.

It's not as if Baltimore would have won the game if he hit that FG.. I don't feel bad at all. Sure, it sucks for the team and fan base, but NE did just enough to put themselves in the position to win the game..It's never automatic !

Actually, I feel more bad for the Cleveland fans. This is like us having to watch the Titans make it to the playoffs over and over again, while your "expansion" team still sucks.

I don't care much for Baltimore for the same reasons I don't like the Titans.

Yeah, that's a weird situation and I feel the same way. However the difference is Baltimore had their team stolen too.

At least Houston and Clevelend got their new teams in an honorable way.

As far as the Super Bowl goes ... yeah I think I will be watching it. :)

Yeah, just feel bad that Cleveland had to start all over while Baltimore was given a playoff contender.

I know it's not Baltimore's fault, but Cleveland hasn't been the same since that particular team left.

Plus I don't like Flacco.:heh:

If I am a Ravens fan I am disappointed in Falcco's progression as an NFL QB. He just doesnt make big time plays. And has bad pocket awareness IMO.

And he needs to shave that thing off his face. He looks ridiculous.

He did everything right to win that game. Not his fault Lee Evans couldn't make a basic end zone catch and hold on when he knows damn well someone's gonna try and smack it out of his hands. He looked like a green rookie there and cost his team the win. Flacco played better than Brady all game and was not fazed at all on the road.

Other than that, good is what I say. The Ravens caused others enough pain that a little torture their way works just fine.

why? Did he kick your dog or something?

I was thinking the same thing.

I would have loved to see Ricky Williams & Ed Reed get a ring.... & for Ray-Ray to get another one.... Flacco was just along for the ride...

Next year, they'll have to get past us & I'll be rooting the other way.

I felt bad for them because I know exactly how they feel. The Oilers used to lose playoff games like this. A dropped ball here, a missed field goal there, there was always something that would ruin the entire season because of a stupid mistake one of the Oilers would make when it mattered the most.

I don't know how they feel. I say this because the Ravens have a Super Bowl championship in their history.

The Oilers never even made it, much less brought a Lombardi home.

So while the outcome of the game can be similar, in the end, they get to re-watch their 2000 Ravens glory every year on NFLN and NFL Films.

And you know what Houston fans get to re-watch every freakin' year???

yeah, you know what I'm talkin' about...

Each year, the fans from only one team out of 32 get the ultimate glory. Everyone else is disappointed and is waiting for next year. Houston has been waiting for "next year" for far to long.

The difference is the Ravens have won a Super Bowl before. The Oilers never won jack so it was much worse as an Oilers fan.

Did Ravens fans honestly think they were going to win the game?

:spit:

MSR! Somebody get him for me.

I like the Ravens, I don't like the pats. Too bad Lee Evans couldn't have hung on to that pass. I have been critical of Flacco, but he put that ball on the money with the game on the line.

Evans made the catch, but immediately had the ball batted out of his hand as he was pulling it in. Great play by the DB as it was only a second away from being a completed TD.

I don't disagree, that what I meant when he couldn't "hang on", I didn't mean to say he dropped the pass, great play by the DB and very close to being a TD. I thought it was at first, but on the slow mo replay the ball was being knocked loose before the second foot touched IIRC. And the whole act of completing the catch verbiage came into play.

Lee Evans? Buffalo's Lee Evans? I kinda felt warm all over knowing it was he who got beat for a change.

Cunditt tried to hang himself last night but he missed kicking the chair out from under him.

The Curse of Cundiff strikes again.

When my Cowboys cut a kicker, you know he must suck.

Of course it all generates from the Curse of Boniol (or however you spell it) for the Cowboys.

Bud's team come up 3 porn stars (36 inches) short?

'eh, that game is some sort of guilty pleasure in a really messed up sort of way. Bittersweet.

No, I'm afraid that the event I was referring to was 35-3. No more needs to be said, as I know I will come across it at some point in the next two weeks.
