Shake It Off, We Can Still Finish Strong

0-5 is bad, obviously. However, we dug oursleves in this hole, and will can dig ourselves out of it.

Attitude wise, this team is superve. They contiously short a fighter's mentalility, going into every game expecting to win.

Another thing we have going for us, is Dom Capers. He started 0-6 in his first year with Carolina, and finished 7-9. Dom Capers doensnt panic, he contious his steady approach in terms of what we must do. Thats a positive.

David Carr is a positive quaterback, he keeps his cool, smiles alot, and has faith. You must repsct that. He doesnt quit. Anybody who think's Carr's the problem, doesnt deserve to be a fan. He makes throws, when givin time.

I truly belive, that with a few defensive adjustment, and a more consistent O-Line, we can become a much better team, and finish this season nicely.

He also freaks out and starts running around when given time. I dont think Carr is "THE" problem. But I think he is part of the problem right now. I dont think he is playing up to his potential.

I just want a new coaching crew, who will use our #1, and #3 overall draft picks to their potential. I also want a crew who will give Carr the portection he needs.

Um...what? Have you not seen the "Fire Capers Club"? How could you consider that to be a positive attribute of this team? This was supposed to be a breakout year...

Dom Capers in my mind, yeah, is making some mistakes, but he knows how to correct them.

He's been in this situation before, and has the patience as well as experience to reverse this slump.

Every just has to step up slighltly, and we'll be okay, i promise. Be patient, we can turn this around, i belive atleast

Anything is possible. But you have to weigh it with probability. Right now, the team that we've been watching the first five games couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag with hole in it.

:um:

ummmm....now I'm confused. Maybe we've been watching different games.

This team has played flat. No fire. No attitude.

Sure, individual players have shown spark, but as a whole, the team - taken as a whole for 60 minutes of game time - looks and smells like a losing team.

 <-----this smilie was made for statements like this (heh-heh)

Seriously, Coach Capers - nice guy, good father and husband, decent DC - needs to go.

Regardless of how you look at it - good players/no inspiration or bad talent/no inspiration - it all starts with the HC.

He's lost this team's focus and attention. They play like individuals, not a team. From sloppiness, to an inability to execute, to bad game management...his time has come and gone. We wish him well with his future endeavors when this season is over and he's moved on.

To your point, this team is not the Panthers team of yesterday. We didn't get to the playoffs and a conference championship in our second year...not even close.

I like your attitude :thumbup regardless of how idealistic and void of realistic evaluations it might be.

yeah, DC does have a nice smile. :ok:

You have to show signs of life and this team is showing no signs of life. My goal this year was the playoffs and another loss or two will eliminate that goal. I do not see a team on the schedule that would be a safe bet. This could have been a great year for football and the texans have just ruined it for me. The only football game i'm looking forward to is the Big 12 Championship. The Texans are done this year and if you truly believe this team can turn it around your in for a huge letdown. I've never missed a game and spend alot of time and money trying to support this team, but the poor performances this year have just sucked the excitement out of me. It's hard to justify spending the time and money it takes to travel to a game that means nothing. With the playoffs out of the question, these remaining games are meaningless.

Its possible considering we play the Browns, the Cards, the 49ers, the Ravens and the Titans. Also maybe an upset in Jville. Thats 6 wins

I dont want us to recover.. this losing streak has revealed the incompetence of our coaching staff. if they recover they may not get fired.. id rather we just kept on sucking.. got us a high draft pick and a new coaching staff for next season.

I don't know about you guys, we did lose Wong for the season and nobody even cares. Now I feel bad for the guy, that tells you how bad he plays. I wonder if he thought about the last four games where he let everyone down, including himself. If you could only have been SHARPER

Quality post there. I mean rarely does someone work in zero analysis with slamming a player when he just got injured. Give yourself a hand.

I realize our coaching staff has turned our team to garbage, but just once I would like to see a little emotion out of Dom. Starting yelling at people or at least sigh, throw your hands up, and give a ***** eating grin after a horrible play. Give me something to at least act like you care.

When you find you've dug yourself into a hole in life, stop digging.

Anything is possible. I'm sure most of us on here have watched enough football to know that. I think even if the team isn't responding to the coaches at least respond for themselves and not go out like some punks. Play hard. Time to get it together.

GO TEXANS!!! :texans: :texflag:

hes gotten in player's faces in every game.

We just have no quality depth... Vince Lombardi couldnt improve this team. We under achieve because we have veterans on this team looking to pick up a check and thats it. We have no young O lineman pushing our starting lineman to play well. They are not afraid to lose their job they are just afraid to get hurt. On defense we have the same thing i think Buchanon should be cut. He doesnt want to hit people, he wants to trip them up,or bump them out of bounds. Wiegart and McKinney are the root of our line problem. WE just need to keep drafting players. it takes a good 6 years to get us to respectable no matter who we have coaching.

Its called building a franchise, I am disappointed but this year isnt a waste its a learning experience. get rid of the old standbys. not the coaches..

get rid of - Wiegart, McKinney, Wong, Buchanon, Walker, DeLoach... this team will get better. just keep drafting.

You kids have got to be kidding me.........

Nice to stay positive about "your" team, (i.e. the 'stros will still find a way to make it to the Series even after the Twilight Zone finish tonight), but what I have witnessed from this team this year is enough to make one wish they hadn't bought the PSL's.

Have faith, fine........but do it with some reality check in mind please.

When you watch McKinney just watch a d lineman pull a spin move on you and you just kinda look and say nothing except the f word... that teells me you need to go... where is arm out? where is the call out to say incoming? where is the look to your fellow lineman?

nothing. They are just lining up to collect a paycheck. no holding calls are even called on them for trying to save their QB from getting hit.

That tells me its realistic. Get rid of the players just cashing out... get some coachable players in the system the system works. then when we start winning these young guys will be older guys that make an impression on young guys coming in.

What team are you watching because "he" surely can't be Dom Capers. I personally don't find yelling necessary from a coach for the most part, but to try and say Capers' on anything but the rarest of occasions gets in players' faces is a farce.

We under achieve because we have veterans on this team looking to pick up a check and thats it. We have no young O lineman pushing our starting lineman to play well.

We underachieve because what, we don't have 5 rookie OL guys "pushing?" Check this out--Pitts would still be playing on 1st contract but just extended--young player. Wand--still on rookie contract. Weary--still on rookie contract. Brown--still on rookie contract. Hodgden--still on rookie contract. Wade--on 2nd contract of his career--still young player. The only guys who are older vets are Wiegert and McKinney both of whom have young players to compete with them at their positions. Next theory?
