Steelers-Broncos AFC Wildcard

Wolf

100% Texan
That will Never happen again.

Steelers kicked off, the ball hits the goal post and bounces back and stops on the 20.

No No, tebow mania must die! I feel dirty rooting for the steelers, but I just can't stand tebow.

I'm rooting for the Steelers to. I would love to see another Texans - Steelers game here in Houston for the AFC Championship game.

I don't mind Denver winning, I just think Pittsburgh has a better chance of beating the Pats in New England. Of course, not if they keep playing like this. They look intimidated by the Tebow mania.

Warren Sapp was the only person who said the Broncos have to use Tebow and his style to their own advantage.

Sapp said (paraphrasing) "You don't put in Brady Quinn. You dance with the one who brung ya' this far. Tebow is perfect for this game. You slug it out, you drag the Steelers into YOUR world by making the game ugly, low-scoring, and a back and forth battle on the ground. You don't get into a passing war with Big Ben."

Sapp is smarter than most of the guys he works with. Seriously.

How a professional athlete can throw as bad as Tebow does and still get a completion is beyond me. It's also beyond me how Denver is kicking Pittsburgh's ass. This is crazy.

Steelers are so injured right now they make the Texans look like the picture of health.

Steelers entire starting defensive line is out with injuries. They are also missing their pro bowl C and Ben is playing on one leg. They are in deep doo doo.

It's almost as if people are put off that Tebow is not the run-of-the-mill NFL QB, the stereotypical QB we're accustomed to seeing.

Today's NFL QB has to be this laser-armed guy who has pretty mechanics and can call any of 25 audibles at the line (correctly, btw) and just generally "looks like a QB."

Enter Tebow. Mechanics are nothing flashy. Isn't really touted as being worthy of being on an NFL roster at all. Actively rooted against by most NFL commentators and fans who think he's going to be out of the league at the end of 2011.

There's something to be said for a guy just being a lunch pail type of QB.

Reminds me of a clean-cut version of Jim McMahon of the 1985 Bears. Except Tebow can RUN with the ball, and that is used as an advantage for him.

I don't think they stand a chance vs. the Patriots.

But think about this: If we beat Baltimore, and the Broncos find a way to beat Patriots, we're playing the Broncos IN HOUSTON for the AFC Championship.

Everybody needs to root for this scenario to play out. Chiefs, Bills, and even the Patriots have found ways to shut down Tebow. We can, too.

At halftime, Shannon Sharpe says "Look, we don't need to make any excuses for the Steelers, and I mean that in no offense to them (Reaches over to acknowledge Cowher), but we need to give Tim Tebow credit. He had to throw the ball well today ad he's doing just that."

Shannon Sharpe is a classy guy, IMO. He doesn't play by the Good Old Boys rules of covering the tracks of his fellow commentators.

Example: Boomer Esiason pulls the same stunt that Barkley pulled at halftime of our game yesterday, saying that he thinks the Steelers will pose big problems for the Broncos in the second half....I mean, the Steelers are losing heart (like the Bengals did) they've had momentum against them going into the half (like the Bengals did) and the Steelers are on the road (like the Bengals were). Shannon Sharpe doesn't let that slide, and makes the comment I just posted (above). He doesn't choose to poo-poo the moment, and he makes sure that viewers know that not everybody is going to root against Tebow.

Esiason and Simms are the two former NFL QBs that I disliked when they played, and dislike them NOW for how they operate in their analysis. They are snide, petty, smarmy talking snot faces IMO. By contrast, I really like Marino, Sharpe, Cowher.

Denver changed their mind

That is weird
Because the official blew the whistle too soon -- the challenge couldn't have resulted in a recovered fumble -- only turn a no gain into a one yard loss.

Denver got screwed by the quick whistle.

Yep

I hate the quick whistles.

I think Redman has done a spin move on ever play that he has carried the ball
