Pinc Gator will be on 610 this evening on the J&R show at 5:15 to talk about his new hit "Respect The Bull" Produced by Beanz n Kornbread ....and he also was interviewed on channel 11 it will air Friday 7-8pm on the Texans Playoff special

Are all these rappers gonna continue to play this stuff if the Texans get beaten badly in the first round? I don't think I like a bunch of wannabe entertainers trying to get famous off of the "right now" success of a local sports team. Where were all these proud rapper fans when we were 2-14?

Thought so.

Uhhh, who would want to rap about a 2-14 team?

"ahhhh yayuh Mittens got sackd a'gin
A hush jus went ova da bullpen
We sux an urbody know it
Tune it at noon and da texans dey show it"

Again.

My song has got to be considered. This is put together so that it can last for generations. Written in 2006 during the hard times unlike now with all the bandwagon Texan fan rappers, No speak of current players so that it can be played in 2072 even, to the point and short enough to be played without driving you crazy...heck even after a TD:

I don't like the lyrics. It sounds almost like a song that could be played for any team and not specific for the Texans. I do like the video though where it showed a lot of the fans. It had a quick shot of Joe Texan while he was wasted if anyone saw it. Lol!

Can someone tell me why it is that we're practically being forced to accept some rap song as our fight song?? Since when have there ever been any rap songs that were top tier fight songs for other teams?? Most of the great ones I've heard are usually hokey songs of strange genres that grow on people. I've never heard some long lasting fight song by some rapper. I'd really hope that these rap songs that people keep trying to push off on HOuston fans dies off at some point and one surfaces that's a great rock song or even a country song of some sort. I'm not a country fan, but it would go better with the whole "Texans" theme and the atmosphere at Reliant. Hell, I'd be perfectly happy with a hokey little song like the "Houston Texans #1!!" We got the offense, we got the defense................. Old fans know the rest. :chickendance:

I have to say Tex, growing up in Houston it was mainly local rap that I listened to back in High School especially, Swishahouse was huge back in around 1997-2000 ish and probably before. I think the rap culture in Houston over the last few decades is easily just as big as the country or rock culture that comes from here. Thats why I sorta liked this song, it had some rock and country in the music with rap lyrics.

I always liked that song that comes on the Brake Check commercials. It's country and to me it says alot about Texans:

" I was raised a Texan. I'm tried and true.
I'm lone star son of a gun, baby, red white and blue.
I was raised a Texan. Til the day I die.
Gimme outlaw country, Willie and Waylon and it's a darn good life!"

I have to agree with some of these guys, how it is dumb that all of a sudden Houston rappers are making this some sort of competition to see who can make the best "fight song"...

but I do however like this song... it doesnt have a typical "rap" sound to it..
Also it doesnt name out a specific player so it can even be used in the future..

GO TEXANS!

You forget the Deion Falcons and "Too Legit to Quit"
:bubbles:

Swishahouse was nothing but a copy cat version of the Screwed Up Click though. Paul Waul, Slim Thug, and all the rest of those guys will always be garbage to me, because all they have ever done is take the lyrics of guys like Fat Pat, Keke, and Hawk and the original SUC guys and switched their words around. Those guys aren't even capable of writing a verse that doesn't talk about their slab, their grill, or the rims on their car. None of those guys that blew up on the Houston rap scene in this last decade were original. Not one guy out of all of those, and all of the stuff they're still putting out right now is the same garbage I was hearing on screw tapes back in 1994 and 1995. It wasn't garbage then, because it was original and fresh back then. These Houston rappers that blew up at the right time (Paul Wall, Slim Thug, Mike Jones) now days are more of an embarrassment more than anything. South Park Mexican was another complete abomination of popularity when he blew up out here. God, he was awful. They'll never touch the old days of when we had originality of groups like the Geto Boys (Old school Scarface, Bushwick, Willie D) and some of the others from the late 80's and early 90's were around and when the screwed up click first got started. Now all I hear out of this city is the same ole tired lines from 15 to 17 years ago (Candy paint, swangers, bleed the block, mug on mean, blah blah blah). No originality or artistic lyricism out of the Houston rap scene what so ever.

Yeah Yeah I am just saying, I realize Swishahouse didn't invent Houston rap or anything. I am just meaning that the rap culture in Houston is just as big as any of the other genres if not bigger so it makes sense that its in our teams "theme songs" to some degree. Of course it sounds like you already knew that so.

GO TEXANS!

Not dumb at all, it's simple supply and demand... During tough years for a team that's never had success, you won't have a lot of people wanting to hear songs about how awesome the team is, so the chances of those songs being put out there is very low...

But in a time where the team is doing well, people would like a soundtrack for it, and someone will put it out there...

The Red White and Blue song (Dreledon sp?) actually came out before the streak, along with another two songs... I remember hearing the Dreledon song played during warmups before the Browns game... At that point the Texans were 4-3, and had lost three of four games (beating Tenn the week before)... I think the song had come out around the time of the Oakland game, so before the "real" success (3-1 means nothing with this franchise, it can go South quick)......

Had the team continued to fizzle after the three game losing streak of course there wouldn't have been as many songs coming out...no one would want to hear them...

If there would have to be a rap song made for the Texans, for me it would only be proper to have Scarface do it. He is an old school Houstonian out of South Acres and repped the Oilers back in the day. He put Houston on the map as far as their rap scene goes and is the most respected rapper that will ever be mentioned from Houston and one of the best of all time.

I do remember a certain rap song for the Oilers back in the day though. I think it was some random dude that made it, but I remember it being on the radio for a while and hearing some guy say something like "Get hit by Lamar Lathan!!!!." Lol! I liked that part, and whomever did it wasn't to bad. It was so long ago, but I'm going to see if I can find it on Youtube. I doubt it, but it would be cool to hear that one again. You're probably a little to young to remember, but I wonder if anyone else remembers that song.

I am pretty sure I am too young to remember, I mean most of my memories from the Oilers are from Super Tecmo Bowl, my knowledge of older Houston rap is from my brothers who are both 8-10 years older than I am.

I wish it had been two weeks since I had heard it, they keep saying it like once every game during the broadcast.

Well I know for a fact he was in college at Sam Houston State more worried about midterms and finals than making a Texans song. Are we really measuring FanHood now ? lol
I work with the guy and he's very cool. He is a Raiders fan though!
He had been a Fan of The Radiers before the Texans existed but he even said out of his own mouth if they both played He's Texans all day its not even close
This is bar far my favorite song. LOVE #RespectTheBull
Mine too lol I actually made a Texans Songs playlist on my Ipod to workout to

Meh, nothing about the song stands out at all. I'm with Texecutioner, get scarface to do one.
Truthfully Gator would love to do a song with Scarface but the last I heard Brad was still in jail .....I love scarface's music

Personally, this is one of my favorites. And not just because he's a SHSU alum. The song has a different feel than the other rap songs out there.

I actually saw Pinc Gator at the SHSU playoff games this year. He wrote a song about Sam and they play it at different times througout the games. That bronze helmet he wears is hard to miss, lol.

Hey what year did you go to Sam ? I graduated in 06 , are you going to the Championship game ?

We could get George Jones to sing it. He probably wouldn't show up on time if you payed him. "Respect the Bull" ftw.
