Its probably unfair to directly connect defensive coordinator Wade Phillips absence the last two weeks to Houstons two-game losing streak.
That doesnt mean the Texans werent thrilled to see their defensive leader back at work on Monday.
Texans coach Gary Kubiak confirmed Phillips was back in the building for the first time since having surgery on his kidney and gallbladder.
The goal would be that he would be [coaching] in the press box on Sunday, but well see how he feels, Kubiak said via the teams website. Its good for everybody just to know that hes doing better and back to full health. Its good for him to be back around the players a little bit.
Kubiak says the team will approach their finale against Tennessee like another game because the team wants momentum heading into the playoffs.
Houston is locked into the No. 3 seed. Its possible that if the Titans beat the Texans on Sunday, then Tennessee could be returning to Houston in the playoffs.
