Rebuild through the draft in three Years.

Bubbajwp

All Flopper
Im was just waiting for the Astros game when I thought about this.

Dont pickup Carr's option for cap room
Try to trade pbuch and j babin for draft picks. Ill say we get one second rounder for them.

Round 1 top three pick trade for two first round picks one this year and one next year like the manning deal.
This gives us
1 first rounder
3 Second rounders
2 third rounders
1 of the rest
The 2006 draft
Boldis the players I think would still be on the board when we pick.
Round 1a Tackle ( D Ferguson, Marcus McNeil, Eric Winston, Jon Scott)in that order
Trade one second and one third round pick to get back into the first round.
Round 1b LB (AJ Hawk, Chad Greenway, Ahmad Brooks, Abdul Hodges)
Round 2a G Davin Joseph, G Max Jean Gilles, T Andrew Whitworth, Jeremy Trueblood, Winston Justice. Whoever is left
Round 2bTE (leonard pope, Tim Day)
Round 3 C (Greg Eslinger,Donovan Raiola)
Round 4 Dline
Round 5 Safty
Round 6 Most athletic player
Round 7 Fastest player
Sign a vetran QB to start for one year and to teach our young QB's
2007 Draft
Round 1a QB (Marcus Vick, Chris Leak)
Round 1b CB - S - WR (Devin Hester CB, Darnell Bing S, Santonio Holmes WR, Steve Smith WR, Courtney Taylor WR, Ashton Youboty CB) In that order.
Round 2 Dline
Round 3 CB - S - WR depending on round one
Round 4 CB - S - WR depending on rounds one and three.
Round 5 most athletic
Round 6 most athletic
Round 7 fastest player left

2008 draft
Round 1 Adrian Peterson trade up do whatever you have to do to get him.
This would give us Marcus Vick at QB, Adrain Peterson at RB, AJ, Jmathis, J Gaffney. Also Our oline would looke like this M McNeal, Max J Gilles, Greg Eslinger, Chester Pitts, Todd Wade.

Dline - Peek, TJ, R Smith, ? I guess we could sign a free agent or a later round draft pick
Linebackers - K Wong, A Brooks, M Greenwood
Secondary - Drob, Marcus Coleman, CC Brown, D Hester.
It obviously would be nearly impossible for all or even most of this to happen. But I was bored and love brainstorming all the possibilities that could make our Houston Texans a better team. :texflag:

A lot of stuff there and looked good upon a glaze over. However, this may be for another board (and I like Adrian Peterson's game), Jamaal Charles has some of the best feet I ever seen. He has LT's feet and Priest's patience.

I am a huge UT fan, but not a homer.

Tell me what you think
If you trade for two 1st round picks (one this year and one next year), where does your other 1st round pick for '06 come from (you have two)?

Unless Buchanon and Babin show something soon, they're trade value is going to be squat. You might get a 3rd rounder for Buchanon and possibly a 4th for Babin.

I guarantee you Adrian Peterson will come out after his junior season (eligible for the '07 draft).

Whatever team that drafts Marcus Vick is going to be really disappointed...just my opinion of course.

I said to trade a second round and third round to get back into the first round. Thats were we would take one of the LB.

I think the only possible way he will stay is if the sooners are a very competitive team. Which doesnt look like its going to happen.

I think Marcus Vick and Chris leak are eligable to come this year to so we would have to get very lucky.

I wouldnt trade those 2 guys for a second round pick. Babin can still be a great player, and Buchanon is cheap.

I would like to see us go 4-3, drop Walker, and make Peek a backup. Smith and Payne as the DT, Johnson at the DE with a vet in free agency taking the other side.

Wong in the middle, with babin and Greenwood on the outsides. The rest stays the same.

On offense, get my LT, a WR, and a backup guard, in the first 3 rounds.

Our free agency pickup on this side of the ball will be a TE. If this turns out to be the WR, then we will take our TE in the draft.

Leak isnt a highly rated prospect. He's undersized, slow and pretty unathletic in comparison to other guys out there. He's also a system QB(shotgun last 2 years, option/spread this year). I'm a big Gators and Leak fan, but he just doesnt project out well.

Neither babin or Pbuch have shown us any thing this season. When Pbuch's contract runs out he's going to want more money. Which he's not worth. Also I want to switch to a 4-3 at the end of the season but Travis Johnson is not a 4-3 defensive end. I would put Peek and babin at DE unless we trade him in which case I would sign a free agent DE. Starting DT would bee TJ passrushing and Robaire Smith Runnstopper. Seth payne and Gary walker have injury problems and are to old to start be on a rebuilding team.

I didnt realy know much about leak other than he was on an offense that made QB's look good.

I would like to add that QB Erik Ainge and WR Ginn Jr, Tedd (alot like Reggie Bush) are due to be in the 2008 draft.

No way we get a 2nd rounder for Buchanon and Babin. Ahmad Brooks is a top 16 pick while Eslinger is round 1-2. Max Jean-Giles is top 10 material, how are we going to get him in the 2nd round? If we stay put, we could have a good draft. If I was drafting it, this is how it would go.

1st round: D'Brickashaw Ferguson, OT, Virginia
Great pass blocker, runs a 4.8, and an elite player
2nd round: Orien Harris, DT, Florida
His stock has fallen, but he's a rock in the middle
3rd round: Tim Day, TE, Oregon
Big (6'5'' 270) and fast (4.7)
3rd round: Pierre Woods, OLB, Michigan
Here's a concept: drafting an OLB to play OLB! Woods is a pass
rushing machine and is big (6'5'' 250 lbs)
4th round: Will Allen, OG, UT
A home grown lineman who can actually block
5th round: Quincy Butler, DB, TCU
A big suprise this year, not many people know how well he's done
6th round: BPA
We allways draft small school prospects or weird projects
7th round: BPA
See 6th rounf

Houston's biggest challenge will to get active in Free Agency. Getting rid of two defensive leaders and signing a troubled CB and a decent MLB is not acceptable. We need to use the draft to pick positions that we haven't addressed in free agency. I wish the draft would happen like that Bubba, but you have us getting 4 good first rounders waaay too late.

After all the trades our picks would look like this.
Round 1a would be around 8-12
Round 1b 15-20
Round 2a top 3
Round 2b 15-20
All other rounds would be top 3

I know, but Ahmad Brooks is a top 10 pick who I dont see getting past San Fransisco and New Orleans, McNeill is the top OG who wont last past the top 16, and Greg Eslinger is the top Center in the draft. I really do wish we could ge tall 3 of these guys, but thats wishful thinking.

Marcus McNeil is a Tackle not a guard.

Ahmad Brooks wont get picked ahead of AJ Hawk or Chad Greenway. He isnt a top ten pick. Unless AJ Hawk or Chad Greenway slip for some reason.

Some people have Mike Degory C from Florida ranked as the number one Center in the draft. Not to mention C dont get drafted in the first round very often.

If you would have read the hole post then you would have saw this. I know it would be hard but its fun to think about.

My bad, I was thinking of Jean-Giles. Brooks isnt as talented as AJ or Greenway, but Brooks is a MLB while Hawk and Greenway are OLBs. I've heard some people have Degory ahead of Eslinger, but both will be taken early (Chris Spencer, David Baas last year). I know its fun to think about, but I'm too realistic when it comes to the draft because I pay too much attention to it.

I dont see marcus as a qb in the nfl. Probably more likely to play WR ala Matt Jones. Who? Matt jones. lol Sorry couldn't help it. The Mike jones song popped in my head.

He's a playmaker but his arm isn't as strong as Mike's and he's not as elusive.

To me Marcus is a little slower than mike and doesnt have as strong of a arm. But is more accurate. I also think Vince Young should be a WR in the NFL.

Yea its very probably that he will be as well. Of course he has as well as marcus both have another year or so to become better qb's but if either came out after this year forget about the qb positon.

vince's mechanics are HORRID.

Thats why I realy want Ma Vick to stay in school one more year. Get all of the problems out of his system and hopefully be a superstar QB for the Houston Texans someday. Unless Carr and the rest of our useless offense improves.

Marcus is very close to the exact same speed as Michael 4.28 to 4.25. the main difference is he stays in the pocket more, prefeers to pass first then run second, last time I checked this is what scouts/coaches want the QB to show so at this time I would say is well ahead of his older brother. on and off the field :heh:

If Vince can read the defenses he can throw the ball, so of course he could be a WR but I would rather have him direct an offense with his hands on the ball all the time, he is a special player & proven winner.

I agree, IMO Marcus is a better QB than his brother.
I think Vince has alot of potential. I also think he will be a great player in this league regardless of his potential. He is definetly a proven winner. I just hope he doesnt play for the Texans. I would rather have Marcus Vick.
