I am personally advocating Vince Young!!! Here are the Rules:

How VoteforHeisman.com works:

Nominees determined from various media outlets and user nominations. In no way is the listing of any candidate an endorsement by the Heisman Trophy Trust or VoteforHeisman.com.

Users can either vote for an existing candidate or nominate a new candidate by using the ballot page.

Users must provide a valid email address so they can then confirm their nomination through the link in the email which is sent to the user upon submission of a vote or nominee.

Users may vote once per week from September 25 through December 7, 2005. For the purpose of VoteforHeisman.com, the week will commence on Sunday at 12:00 Eastern time and conclude at 11:59 Saturday Eastern Time.

The candidate receiving the most votes by December 6, 2005 will recieve the vote of the people towards the awarding of the Heisman trophy as well cast the title of the VoteforHeisman.com Peoples Heisman

What a joke--30 or so nominees, all QB's and RB's except for one WR and one CB. Yeah, because the best college player every year has to be a QB or RB.

And the one CB is Devin Hester. A player more known for his returns than his cover abilities.

I submitted a write-in vote for Elvis Dumervil, DE, Louisville ( see this thread as to why).

I won't vote for Vince Young because if he wins, that might increase his chances of leaving school early. He can wait 'till next year. :)

Charles Woodson is the only defensive player (CB) I remember winning the Heisman. He was only able to accomplish it due to his special teams and INT returns. I think he had 7 TD's that year.

42 tackles, 1 sack, 8 INTs on defense
11 catches, 231 yards, 2 TDs, 3 carries, 15 yards, 1 TD
33 punt returns, 283 yards, 1 TD

There have been many a CB that finished with more than 8 INTs that never came close to being considered for the Heisman. Take away his contributions on offense and special teams and Woodson doesn't either.
