Tom Clements

9th YEAR IN NFL/2nd WITH BILLS

COACHING EXPERIENCE: Enters his second season as the Bills offensive coordinator after leading a Bills offense which saw immense improvement in 2004, as the team increased its point output by 152, and its rushing yardage by 210…Clements also put the offense in favorable positions, as the team reduced the its number of sacks allowed by 13, allowing 38 sacks in 2004 compared to 51 in 2003…the 38 sacks allowed were the least by a Bills team since 1999…Clements game to the Bills after serving as the quarterbacks coach for Pittsburgh the last three seasons (2001-03)…while at Pittsburgh, Clements orchestrated the successful return of Tommy Maddux, who helped the Steelers finish seventh in passing in 2002, their highest rank since 1980…was also instrumental in the development of former Steelers quarterback Kordell Stewart, who had his best season as a pro in 2001, earning a spot in the Pro Bowl…before joining the Steelers, Clements coached quarterbacks for the Kansas City Chiefs (2000), where Elvis Grbac had the best year of his career and earned Pro Bowl honors, and the New Orleans Saints (1997-99)...prior to entering the professional coaching ranks, Clements began his career as a quarterbacks coach for his alma mater Notre Dame under Lou Holtz (1992-95).

Of course you realize I am an Irish fan through and through.

The Texan in me will not allow for a Notre Dame person to come in here and roam our sidelines. I am all about the big tent, but I do not have room in it for the Indiana Irish.
