Some thoughts:

- there was an absolute collapse after Robaire Smith missed that intereception in the 3rd quarter (10-9). Not saying we lost because of Robaire, but the wind literally blew out of our sails. Brown ran for 10+yards on the next play. Bennett had that long reception where Faggins was turned around and they scored on the two plays later with Payton. On the next drive Carr got sacked and recovered the fumble - 3 and out.

- 100 yards rushing in the 1st half, man did our running game look terrific. I am not on the Wade bandwagon, but he was exploding and pushing guys around.

- Carr looked much better, but still not the level of play where the team's highest paid player should be playing on, but I will take this performance from him anyday when compared to most outings.

- WR's looked much better except for Bradford's goofy mishap in the end zone. It is not often you have a ball that well thrown at that distance on this team. Need to catch those.

- We got intermittent pressure from the D Line. Travis Johnson just kepps getting stood up with 1x1 blocking. I do not know who was handling him.

- Special teams looked good.

- We were better than that team. And it seems just like in other games that we are so close on many plays. Let's face it we have not jumped out of our seats in jubilee at all this year, but there have been opportunities for our guys. Capers' call for execution is not far off.

- Brown looked good again expcept for the TD that he got fooled on.

- D Rob comes to work on Sunday, I applaud him.

Thanks for the post Kaiser, good observations. I agree about Wade, He is does well against the run but is inconsistent in his pass blocking.

Coaching. Players are quitting, dropping heads down, feeling like there's no hope.

NFL films needs to mic him up every Sunday like they did last weekend. His play was definitley superb to the rest of the team.

And you know I was listening to 610 this morning, they were playing snippets from a DRob interview and he said something along the lines of it's not just on the defense, not just on the offense, it's on all of us, the players, we're not getting it done and I was sitting there thinking to myself, coaching, coaching, playcalling, coaching, schemes, coaching, Capers, coaching...

I did not have a chance to hear what he was saying, anything fun? :)

"We were better than that team. " the is a very ignorant comment...........McNair is far better than Carr and our OL while not the best in the league is not at the bottom of the league as the Texans are and have been for 4 yrs. Your team is not deviod of talent...............but your alot worse than the 2005 Titans...............we had our nadir last yr because of injuries............we now have a ton of new guys and young players with the great assistance of the Houston Texans FO.............realize this...............as Parcells says you are what you are.............and right now you are bad. We have lived what your now going through last yr...........we took it and we have rebuilt through the draft.........we look to continue to get better the same way..................But your problems start and end in the FO............a change has to come there...........until then your living in denial to say the Texans are better than us.............they were last yr because of circumstance and i readily admit it.........and you proved it on the field.............I think you need to look in the mirror.

anyone catch the refs mic pick up dunta telling TJ in the cincy game to keep his hands off him.

i thought that was pretty funny. but we have direct tv at work so i will TRY to catch some of it tomorrow evening.

Easy Braaahhh! I will take Carr over McNair at this moment. We have played four games and have plenty of opportunity to have more wins than the Titans lastt year and this year. Watch the game again and you will see how close it was.

I do look in the mirror and I see a guy about to go up to Seattle, with fellow Texan and wife, and cheer my team onto victory.

......................you are potentially the only person in the US who would take Carr over McNair..................that is preposterous. and there is no way your getting more wins than us this yr..............with that OL and AJ's torn calf..............you have no one. I bet SF beats you.

Carr over Mcnair? Are you insane? I know your supporting your team but come on....
McNair is a winner, Carr as of right now, isn't. Bottom line, end of story.

If the 49ers hadn't opted for the Alex Smith experiment, they'd probably beat the Texans, but find me a more lost and confused looking qb than Alex Smith did Sunday. Heath Shuler maybe?

Wrongo, Bongo....McNair is past his prime and though Carr may never put up his numbers, I would still take Carr now than McNair now.

I just saw one of your posts on another thread about Harrington, of all QB's, being better than Carr! As I said over on that thread, "Dude that is whack!"
Come with ANY justification of that statement!

He's not alone. Give me McNair and you can have Carr. Reality trumps potential here....since potential has nearly 50 games under his belt.

anyone who would take Carr's potential future over McNair's proven past is either the biggest Texans HOMER I have ever seen, or doesn't have any idea of either QB's history/ playing ability.

Get over it. I would take McNair in his current condition today over Carr's best game he ever played. It isn't even a difficult choice. McNair is now and has always been a better QB than Carr. That is a fact.

Until Carr does something to prove he is better, which he hasn't done to date, McNair wins, every time.

Glad to see there is some sanity here..............as for my point about Harrington...............go look at both their stats and come talk to me..............Carr is as bad..........and this yr he is getting what harrington has gotten for the last two yrs.

I am not trying to take anything McNair has done away. Yes, if you are trying to turn around an 0-4 season and win some games this year, put a McNair in and sit Carr. (Although I really think McNair would not be able to take that kind of beating at his age)

But, going forward, I would want Carr over the long haul.

Oh, please. This is the kind of rah rah drivel that makes these boards useless sometimes. I much prefer the current climate in which people are trying to come to grips with the reality of this team and these coaches.

You can have the 2005 McNair and the 2005 Texans O-line.

Now how many games until McNair is retired?

donno...never quite figured out how to use hindsight to forecast something before it happened. McNair has another 3 years in him If I had to figure a guess. I'll still take the proven guy playing well now over the guy who just projects well.

I think his point is well intentioned. I am not sure Carr projects out well, but I am pretty certain that McNair behind this line would be just as ineffective as Carr has been. It's all a "what if?" at this point, but if you're assuming an adequate OL, then yeah, McNair's proven, and a no-brainer pick.

Who cares?

Anyway im more intrested in the bullock play....

Who ever the lineman was let Bullock go and opted to take the second man thru, id like to say it was McKinney, Who did Pitts pick up on that play that prevented him from getting a block on bullock?

Was it supposedly a design screen that Carr didnt get enough air under? i mean its not like carr to try and get the ball out of there in that situation.

Cmon Kaiser break down that play on film for me I am intrigued... it just seems to wierd to be a busted play/turnover... My gut tells me we were goin with a screen to DD again similar to the TD play that was called back.
