Suggestion for Mr McNair

Why not employ someone from the outside with proven football knowledge. Give them a title, quality control V.P of operations (whatever). idonno:
Jimmy Johnson comes to mind, or some other person with proven football knowledge. He can come in and oversee this disaster we call a football team. Let this person watch tape of previous games and sit in on game planning sessions to determine if the present set of coaches have a clue.
Let this person make suggestions as to what the real problems are with this team. The present chain of command isn't working. We gotta do something different, the status quo is not the answer.

There are some old salts out there who could do a better job than JJ. I think its an excellent suggestion and I would think McNair would be wise to get independent council. I think he would be shocked by an honest accessment.

Coaching Change

Okay Bob McNair, what do you do? You know something is amiss right now.

#1-------Do you try to make it through this year hoping for the best? A
complete turn-a-round!
#2-------Do you fire Casserly the GM?
#3-------Do you fire Capers?
#4-------Do you fire both Casserly and Capers?
#5-------Do you wait till mid-season before making a change?

I say #3 you fire Capers now! Why wait to the end of the season or even mid season. It's quite obvious, you have no defense, you have no offensive line that can block. I say hire Gary Kubiak NOW. He can start his program right now(not a totally revamped offense) but something. Okay, you wait until the end of the year, hire Gary Kubiak, you have wasted this year, now you are going into the next 2006 season for some rebuilding. Why waste any more time? Four years is down the drain, get Gary now!!!! Let him start NOW trying to put the wheels back on this team.

Not a bad idea. However, there is a big problem with it. He is the Bronco's OC and I doubt VERY much they let him go mid season. If I am not mistaken, they even have to give permission for us to talk to him in the off season unless he is at the end of his contract. So, it isn't as easy as "Do this or that" there has to be a means of doing it. Most teams are not going to be very willing to give up a good coach if they can help it. The only high profile guy that I see that might actually be available if Jimmy Johnson and he is probably under some sort of contract with Fox. Anyone else is someone that no one else wanted and hence, I doubt we should either.

I seriously doubt any changes occur this season in the remaining staff. However, I'd like to see McNair hire a "consultant" this year, or a QB coach, that might just turn into the HC or OC next season.

Don't rag on McNair if he doesn't fire anyone before the season is over. Who is he going to replace them with? Someone who doesn't have a job this season? How good could they be?

A consultant, there you go....

If you want to see alot of finger pointing and a lot of assistants and coaches really losing their authority over a player hire a consultant.

If you want to ruin your teams chemistry hire a consultant.

You want to lower your confidence even more? Hire a consultant.

Who would you trust more the coach or the consultant?

who would the players follow? Would the consultant tell the truth or just what he wants Mcnair to hear?

Consultants are bad.... What i would like to hear is what Pendry thinks about palmers playbook and what he would change.

Right now, I'd like to see him replace Capers with whatever unemployed high school or jr. high coach he can find. We might as well guarantee ourselves a good spot in the draft. He can find a real coach in the off-season.

They could whack Capers mid-season but then you're going to be stuck with a guy like Pendry as an interim with Kippy Brown as OC for the last six games or so. Then after the season they could flush Pendry and Fang, keep Hoke as DC and hire Kubiak and allow him to bring in his own OC. And hopefully CC gets his notice as well, otherwise we will still be fighting some of the same personnel problems in the future.

Damn AJ I like your thinking. If the ship gets righted then Capers will be back, but if not I would love this. You have Kubiak, A prominent College coach or unit specialist like a line coach take over at OC, the blitz all the time Hoke at DC, and CC out the f-in door is quality to me.

Exactly. Dumb Capers needs to leave. The O-line sux the big one and the team looks worse than year one.
