Two deep shots to the endzone, two incomplete passes. The second of them with :01 left gave me heart failure as it was catchable to the receiver.

Same here....venting in tailgate section.

I streamed 610 through iTunes real quick.

Basically 2 dropped passes by ATL to end it.

Matt Ryan throws to Roddy White corner of the end zone, it is to high, JoJo had pretty descent coverage.

1 second left he throws a deep ball to Julio Joes we are playing prevent defense and the ball hit julio jones right in his hands, but he drops it, Kjac was covering.

0 seconds left and we win the game

First attempt, Ryan went deep to the far right corner of the endzone, it was slightly overthrown and may have been catchable for White had it been throw with a little less umph because he was in between Joseph and the ball. Regardless, good coverage by JJ.

Second and final attempt was to the opposite corner, this time to Jones. It hit Julio right in the chest and was very catchable, Kareem was the corner who messed up on that one.

Yeah... two straight Hail Marys. The first one was a bit over thrown (with the way the refs were "seeing" today, I was surprised PI wasn't called).

The last one, with 1 sec left, hit Julio Jones in the hands but he couldn't hang on. (WHEW!!!)

game over.

Matt Ryan throws a pass to the back corner of the end zone. A Falcons WR posts up and leaps for it...but it's behind him. Jonathan Joseph on the coverage. Joseph was behind the WR, and was blocked out by the WR. Had Ryan got the ball down a bit, or had the WR gone further into the corner of the end zone and posted up THEN...I think it's a TD for the Falcons.

Clock stops at :01. One last play.

Ryan throws it to the completely other side of the field, again to the corner of the end zone, and this time it's Julio Jones. Kareem Jackson had turned around, but hell he was practically WATCHING the ball come down like the rest of the stadium was (except THEY are in the crowd and cans only watch, not play like KJ is). The ball hits Julio Jones right in both of his hands and it bounces off as he starts coming back down to the ground. KJ flails away but my goodness it would have been too late.

Game over.

IMO, and I don't want any of you guys out there hating on me for this...the Falcons had two back-to-back chances to win the game if White and Ryan had connected on the next to last play. And Julio Jones dropped a TD on the last play. He just dropped it, plain and simple.

A nail biter that I thought was going to be over after Ryan/White failed to hook up on the next to last play.

Ah, Football!
We were really lucky this game. Obviously not on the injury front, but falcons WRs were dropping balls left and right.

That said, I'm happy with the team and their effort. My blood pressure is sky high, but I'll take it

LOL, I don't even live there but I threw in some good jabs on that thread:

Live a little, myFOXaustin....for one time, just stand up for YOUR viewers and go against the grain for a change. 8 seconds means two plays, and NO timeouts. You guys think you would have lost your affiliate had you stayed the extra 2 minutes it took to show the end of the game? Rules, rules, rules, huh? Screw the working man who wanted to see the end of the game. No, be VERY afraid of some geek up at Fox Headquarters.

Did you see mine? LOL, it's fun to just to throw a Molotov Cocktail like that...chuck and duck, then run off. LOL.
Good stuff!

I like this one too:

So, a team that is 3 1/2 hours away instead of a winning team that is 2 1/2 hours away is considered the home team market?? That is the whole problem with Austin! Fox TV Austin will not be my channel to watch from now along with many Texan fans! BOYCOTT FOX-TV AUSTIN!! In two weeks I will be watching the Texans game at Third Base - Southpark Meadows for any Texans fans interested in joining me rooting for the Winning Team in Texas, the Texans!!! NO MORE FOX AUSTIN..........BOYCOTT THE PATHETIC COWGIRLS LOVERS!!!

yeah the ball was already coming out right there. its like julio swatted his own ball down. Good pic shows poor coverage on a slow developing play by Kjac.
Actually he had control there, then KJ pulled his arm down by his bicep

I dunno about that, man. It's on there, but I don't think I recall anything other than the ball glancing off the dude's two hands. Like a ricochet bullet.

I don't think KJ impacted the play.

I am not a kj defender but i watch the play over and over and it seems like kj made a play there he place his hand in between arms affected the catch attempt without getting a flag. What more do you want right there.

Honestly, KJ should have tracked the ball better than that. He was watchign the ball whole time and was initially in a better position to make a play on the ball.

Thanks for taking the time to write. We are sorry with what happened regarding the Texans game today on Fox. Here is the scenario as best I understand and can explain it. Earlier in the week, as is the case every week during the NFL season, our programming department had to choose which one of the two games in our doubleheader would run with no interruptions. If we chose the 3:00 game, then coverage of that game would start at 3:10 no matter the circumstances and no matter where in the broadcast the 3:00 game would be. The option we're given is that cut and dry. That is why viewers were taken away from a final second situation for the Texans and taken to commercials before the Cowboy game. I have a feeling your response is that not everyone here is a Cowboy fan, and you're absolutely right. But several of the emails we've received today mentioned customer dissatisfaction and viewer's rights. Unfortunately for Texans fans and non-Cowboy fans, Cowboy fans far outnumber fans of other teams in this market. And so when aiming to please the majority of our customers (in this case our viewers), we have to consider what most of our viewers want. It's a decision every business, organization. etc. has to make and you know the old saying about never being able to please everyone. To put it another way...specifically, in this case, let's say we had chosen earlier in the week to tell Fox to air the Texans game in its entirety and join the Cowboys game in progress. What if the Texans game had gone long and into overtime, can you imagine the response we would've received from the loads and loads of Cowboy fans here had we joined that game late? The Houston game actually almost went into overtime and I'm speaking from hindsight, a luxury our programming dept does not have early in the week. Again, sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for writing.

In response to the bolded, those fans can still STFU....bottom line....you will not miss a game changing/game ending play by the time the ATL-HOU game ends and the Dallas game is joined in progress. BY the time the game is joined for Dallas, it would still be 1st Q most likely.

Also, I have seen plenty of early games go late and the moment they end if they are close, the viewer is taken to the late game in progess....meaning they did not HAVE to cut away at 3:10 for commercials. Load of fuqng bull shite!

If you had time since you already have a thread with them going via email, I would ask that...see what half cocked BS they come up with then.....I work in marketing and promotions so I can see their strategy here and it is full of holes....very weak.

FINALLY someone at one of these affiliates is starting to tell the real story instead of simply blaming the NFL. SA and Austin are *not* secondary markets so they have to opt IN to being allowed to cut away from the early game at 3:10.

Instead of simply saying that it's all the NFL's fault, they would have been better served by saying that the NFL doesn't give them the option to make a "last minute" decision as to whether to stay with a close game of local interest or to cut away from a blowout. You have to make a decision early on and stick with it, even if you cut away from a game like this or opt to stay with a 45-7 blowout. That part is where you can blame the NFL rules. But the NFL didn't force any affiliate outside the secondary markets to cut over at 3:10. That was a station decision -- not that of the NFL or Fox.

... and the Texans win.
& there are only a handful of plays we can "complain" about Kj

Watch the video again, Ryan's first read was not "whoever is on Kj's side"

Receivers catch balls. That's why they get paid. it's not like Matt Ryan had 200 yards throwing against Kj

Personally, I think this was not a good game for Jackson, I think he's played better in other games. I don't think he was the worse DB on the field, I think McCain also had better games. I think Nolan has had better games. I think the three of them (including Allen, even though that was a prime-time INT) were helped out tremendsously by the DL getting into Ryans' head early.

Allen had one of his better games, he used the sideline much better than he has before, eyeballing the QB before he turned & ran on that INT, that was awesome. He didn't "fail" when he came up & played on the line, his jams weren't clean but they were affective.

Jjo, Quin, & Manning were awesome.

Want this problem solved?

Air the continuation of the game on the non-HD channel. In Amarillo, we have FOX as channel 14 and 14-1 (with the 14-1 being the HD version). Find a way to air the continuation on the standard def channel.

But I'm sure there's some hitch with making that a solution.

We are sorry for the inconvenience with the games yesterday. We will be posting a statement in regards to what happened shortly. We know a lot of you are upset, and again, we apologize for all of the confusion.

----------------

I posted on their site the email that Wolf got from an affiliate that essentially exposes their BS about "it was on the NFL" so we'll see what they say. Feel free to keep barraging them even if you don't live here.....

For those that think me and other Austinites are obsessing on this, keep in mind for a solid year or 2 we barely got to see games ON CBS thanks to VY being with the Titans so Tenessee was essentially the home games so Horn jock swingers could keep reliving the glory days and Houston fans in Austin were forced to go to sports bars every weekend as if we lived in a whole different part of the country. So this is a sensitive issue where we feel we get screwed as Texans fans a lot here in Austin.

Keep in mind we are IN Austin, closer to Houston than Dallas and especially Tenessee, so this is complete bull ****.

Yeah. I've never understood about the need to leave a game where the outcome is in the air in the final seconds, so people won't miss an opening kickoff. That just doesn't make any sense.

And especially with the way they can switch back and forth between games, or even put the game just starting in a picture-in-picture type deal. The NFL has some pretty dumb rules.
