Fellow Texan fans....as I posted in the thread about Dom's 4-0 vs 0-4 quote, TAKE A DEEP BREATH! The end of the world is not here...yet. I know we are all frustrated, disappointed, and every other adjetive you could possibly use to describe our feeling as this stage in the season. I do not feel it is as bad as it looks. Yes, the only thing worse than 0-4 is 0-5 and so on and so on. The hope on salvaging this season lies in one big play. Look at last years start. It was horrible until the interception by Coleman in the KC game to turn our confidence around. The team gained some confidence in that single play and gave them a new breath of life. Those are the types of things we are lacking at this point that can make our season come alive. Those plays are based on luck and being at the right place at the right time. They just need to happen and then continue to come on a timely basis to keep our hopes up and keep breathing new life into our team. You can argue about coaching and what not, but how many hailmary passes and last second INT's have won games? Too many for me to count. Those plays are strictly based on luck, which we are definately lacking at this point. The good thing is, odds are in our favor that we will get that "lucky" play and get on the right track again. As someone who also shares in your frustration, I am trying to keep an open mind that one or two plays like that can give our team that spark we are lacking. So try and settle down and see what happens. At this point, there is nothing else you can do anyways. :texans:

"Fans, Countrymen, Texans! Lend me your ears! I come not to praise Dom Capers but to bury him!"

I've heard this somewhere before. It sounds eerily familiar.

HUH? This doesn't seem to fit at all with the thread.

Luck is nice and all, but it would be nicer if we didn't have to depend on luck or flukes to win a game. If the 4-5 year plan was built based on waiting for luck, then we've been shafted...

Nice idea - however - Cooler heads havent made better decisions in the past - Why would that change now?

Honestly as a friend mentioned a long time ago "I would rather be lucky than good" however lady luck doesnt always like to dance with you. Being in the right place at the right time also can have to do with determination to put yourself in the position to succeed.

IMO Unfortunately this staff has proven to be incapabale of doing this. They arent motivating the players, teaching them up to nfl playing caliber or coaching the veterans on the team into being good enough to show the way when the game is on the line and they need that impact play to change things. The play has been sloppy and uninspired. And thus like in a math problem when you keep getting the wrong answer - you have to chagne something in the equation if you want a different result.

Thus IMO a regime and some player changes are necessary and I think it will start at mid season. I think we may be 1-6 by then and Dom will be fired, The O & D coordinators will just run practice until the end of the year with the same playbooks when a new HC and possible GM will be hired and decide on staff and what to do in the draft and then start evaluating talent on the team before mini-sessions start.

Great post, I agree 110%.

That would be very hasty and a very, very bad decision. It also wouldn't make any sense since it would mean that Capers would have gone 1-2 in the next three weeks which isn't bad at all when looking at the competition.

So you are going to forget the three years that all of the above was true for Capers and throw it all out the window because the Texans lost three games they were expected to lose and dropped just one they were supposed to win? Tsk, tsk.

Capers Capers

He's our man

If he can't do it, no one can

(rolling my eyes)

This is not some sort of CBS made-for-TV inspirational movie here. There is no happy ending with Grandpa Capers getting off his death bed and leading our boys to glory on the grid iron.

Unfortunately, and unless he's faking it and is playing poker, our owner is not going to fire anybody else of significance during this season.

Time will tell. But it is just getting more dismal by the day.
