Just as I was posting this I thought "This would make a good t-shirt for Liberty White-out or whatever it is they call the all-white-uniforms day. Imagine a bunch of people in the stands with this t-shirt on seeming to say "I'm the next man up" Cheesy but kind of cool at the same time. Sort of in the "I'm a Texan!" vein.

I got my Photoshop on tonight!

I'd buy one.
...or two

You know that there are websites that will make these shirts for you...right?

So here's an idea. Why don't we buy a bunch of white, navy blue, and red t-shirts. The ones that are thick enough that aren't see through to show people's man boobs. I just happen to be in target and they sell the team colors in the "jerzee's" brand for 4.99. What does printing cost? 2.50 a shirt? So if we sell them for say 15 bucks - that's maybe a 2.50 to 4.00 profit and donate it to the board./charity? Once people start showing up wearing them, the media and others will catch on. Sort of like seeing your local highschool sports team in walgreens. Now all we need is someone on here with a printing press, we go out buy our shirts, and have the guy make them. Shoot, that guy could some them in the parking lot tailgating and could split the costs with us if we ante the price up to 25. Basically, we all pitch in 50 bucks worth of shirts, he makes them, and if we sell 4 a piece we could probably make our costs and some profits for the board/charity too. That would really have it catch on Hmmmmmmm...

And is it hookem who manages the board? Could he make a new page to sell them on-line?(After thinking about this we may not be able to do that because of copyright rules...but we could still sell the shirts in the parking lot, just if we don't get caught. But if guys that tail gate could probably sell it out of their vans/trucks/cars.)

Seattle is known as the 12th man, if this caught on we could be home of the "next man up/paid dues"...that would be pretty cool.

Because I came up with this idea all I ask is for some one to keep me in mind if they have two playoff tickets if they want to sell them to me at reasonable price...

What do yall think?

Shops will not be able to print official NFL logos without permission.

However, they could print it up in Texans colors with just the text. The more colors you print the more expensive it will be.

If anyone wants to make individual shirts you can look for shops that do DTG (direct to garment) printing, sublimation, or vinyl heat pressing. The shop I did graphic work for would do individual 1 color vinyl shirts for about $20ish.

beat me to it^

isn't there a legal issue with using the NFL/Texan's logo for profit?

What you need is an alternate logo that's unmistakable but at the same time not owned by the Texans or the NFL. Something like this

I don't know how it is outside of Reliant, but outside the Ravens and Orioles stadium you can get a tshirt w either or/both logos for dirt cheap. Yes I'm aware of the legality and I'm sure they are too. Just like most of those "authentic" jerseys...hahaha

I used zazzle.com for those previews. Cafeexpress.com is another one that would work. With Zazzle you can let others buy whatever they want with that emblem. Shirts, bibs, etc...

Only thing is, need a higher def pic to make them look right on the chest.
If someone, hint hint, were to provide it i would gladly be the geunia pig and buy the first one.

Yea - I thought there would be legal ramifications

Interesting...the drerams still lives...if we could someone who makes shirts this would be closer to being executed.

See, I think there would be a way to do it...does anyone have any experience selling counterfit products? Wasn't there some one on this board doing that?:kitten:

No, he would just take your order and money and not deliver.

:wadepalm:

This is slightly different.

I designed a shirt last season with my "Battle Red Koolaid Man" on it. I was not able to get a release from Kraft to use the Koolaidman's likeness.

The same guy in my signature. :)

I saw a guy wearing a Schaub/Carr jersey in the blue lot today that said Next Man Up in red letters on the back.

That's all I got.

i found a good way for someone to have one made with the texans logo. You wont be able to sell them but w/e. As soon as the Texans clinch a playoff spot, im going to order one of the NFL shops custom shirts. Just select Texans logo on the left chest (pocket area). Then take the shirt to a screenprinting place or w/e and have them put Dues Paid next to the logo.

Where did you try to get the shirt made?

Herv, can you make a "DUES PAID" shirt with the Texans font?

My wife uses some kind of cpu print iron-on to make shirts for my son all the time. They look good, too. I think we just run with it. Print out from a master and make 'em yourself. Screw the corporate profit.

And DB, I'll take some of that! Get the amounts together and I'll take 7 or so. :bravo:

I tried this and haven't finished. Frankly I didn't think it looked as good in the Texans font. Here's where I stopped and if you like it I can still finish it. I think I just ran out of gas that day.

Here's what it looked like

I thought the letters didn't mash together as well in this font so I tried something else and that's where my avatar came from. I just wanted to see if I could write anything in the Texans font, mash it together, and have it look the way I wanted it to. Then I put the stadium behind it. I added texture to the letters just to try something different.

When I can, I'm going to rep you Herv. That House of Pain logo is just fantastic. I'd love a T shirt with that on it.

What kind of resolution do you need?

Could you double it? The problem is that if you want it a good size on the shirt and the resolution isn't high enough, it comes out pixelated and blocky. Better too much than not enough.

You can use vectormagic.com to turn it into a vector image which can be resized into anything you want. Unless he has it as vector art.

I would prefer that the artist work his magic and if I can indeed get a few made, I would gladly give him one.

After the debacle w a previous member selling Texans gear, no way I'm taking orders. I'd gladly post all resources and let everyone order their own.
