What would you consider a success this season?

I don't want to know what you think McNair thinks, or what McNair would do.

What would you consider a successful season?

I was holding Kubiak to the AFC Championship game.

I don't think that's fair (just me, you may be different), but I don't know where I should set the bar.

At this point I'd be thrilled if they can hold it together and win the Division. I really don't think it's too much of a stretch. My thinking is that if, with all the crap this season, they can still win the division we'll be set for next year when people are back to being healthy. Plus we'll know who will step up and who will not.

Honestly just making the playoffs and putting up a good fight in the wild card. Idc if we go one and done at this point I just want a division title and a playoff berth. Been waiting too long for this and i dont care if we lose. I would rather it be us than the tacks!

You guys realize though that once the injuries are better....our team will be awesome next year??

At this point I say winning the division and being competitive in the playoffs. If we lose a close game in the first round then so be it. But the Falcons have been failures in the playoffs with all of the hype they've had. I don't want to go out like that.

I guess one reason why I'd be disappointed with a first round loss is because I'm tired of the "Texans are the only team that has never made the playoffs," and I'd rather not merely replace that with "Texans are the team that has never won a playoff game."

I can understand that...... But if we go into the playoffs with Yates then I can't ask a 5th round rookie with 5 starts under his belt to win in the playoffs. If we were to happen to pick up a vet who has playoff experience then I'd expect us to still win and do big things.

10 wins. It's always been 10 wins. Beat the Colts and the Titans and you got it.

I'm actually tempted to let him get by with 9, believe it or not; but, when I look at what Phillips has done and how much of the winning is because of him, I still expect Kubiak to come up with 10. You can't just have a top 5 or better D all year and not FINALLY come up with 10 wins. Just find a way to do it. FIND A WAY, Kubiak. Win 2 out of the next 5 and I'll forget that crap-fest for a November 2010.

I am happy with the job the coaching has done this year.

I know some will laugh at that and it might be because compared to what i have gotten accustomed to over 10 years.

however.. no way a previous Texan team would chug along (well it grinded today) with the am't of injuries we have had this year. and I know every team has injuries, but with foster and tate injured earlier, then AJ, then Mario, Manning.. Schaub ..etc etc

no previous years, would the team keep going.

with that said..I hope Yates can learn fast or season is done.

This next man up thing can only go for so long. I think they will win the division but that is it unless .. Yates...

Next man up, I'm not conceding anything. Every time someone goes down I want to know what they intend to do about it and the goal should continue to be "Super Bowl". Right now we're playing defense like nobody could have possibly imagined we'd be capable of playing defense. Even today being on the field as long as we were we still kept holding.

We need a veteran QB. Even a Garcia/Favre type "credible threat" with a few passes beyond the line of scrimmage would be enough to open things up again for Foster & Tate. Today the Texans just went strait to ultra-conservative because Yates wasn't even remotely ready. He won't be next week either. It's time to sign a veteran starter and keep pushing for the playoffs.

My expectations haven't changed. I hope theirs haven't.

My expectations are the same, as far as a successful season, at least one playoff win.

Might not be fair, but to bad, life isn't fair and I am tired of excuses.

Of course if they do make it deep or to a SB imagine how great it would be WITH all the adversity, talk about respect headed your way.

Well said Herv. Wish I had repped you on this one instead. Bingo

Good point. That should be the goal... always.

Don't know how we're going to do it, but that is not the point.

Unless Yates goes down and we have to start with another QB from scratch, I still say we will win the division this year.

before the football gods decided to pull it out and piss on us, it would of been AFC Championship, now i think its just the play offs.
