5 year plan is ..........

5 year plan is over. I have been one of the biggest Texans fans for the last 4 years and it is over. This team WILL and SHOULD start over next year!!!

It begins with a NEW GM and HEAD COACH!!!!!

Dom deserves another year to turn it around. He has shown improvement every year until now. He deserves another shot. I don't think it's wise to go all the way back to square one.

You dont think we are there already? We look worse than we did our first year so starting over seems like the only logical choice to me. Atleast this time we have some pretty good talent to rebuild with.

I asked one of the barbers where I get my hair cut what he thought needs to be done about the Texans. His response, "the team will go 0-16. That'a a great way to get you fired."

Change your avatar!! Capers has had his chance. It is not working! Cass should go also!

Capers only, Casserly has merely gone out and filled Capers request talent wise. He has delegated the evaluation process to Capers. Capers and company compile a list of what they want and who's next in line when someone falls off the list. Casserly is simply the negoiator.

I think they could scrap the entire coaching staff except maybe special teams. That is one are we tend to do fairly well.

This remindes me of Caroll Dawson with the Rockets. A lot of fans thought he was crap during the last few years of Rudy-T's reign. Van Gundy comes in, the Rockets start winning, and suddenly CD is a genius. CD was never a bad GM. The coach was the problem.

Here is an excerpt from yesterday's Chronicle which highlights the affect a coach can have on personnel:
The coaches don't want to make the same mistake they made with veteran outside linebacker Steve Foley. Signed off the street in 2003 after his career at Cincinnati came to a halt, Foley wanted to stay, but the coaches didn't think much of him, so he signed with San Diego and made the Pro Bowl.

The coaches, not Casserly, were responsible for botching the Foley call. Casserly did his job in working with the coaches. But when the coaches don't even know how to work with or identify the talent they have, it makes it hard for the GM to do his job.

I agree. Time for a new 5 year plan. At least we have a small core of good players to start over with this time. Powda... I LOVE YOUR AVATAR! :tv:

Capers was hired because he had started a expansion team(Carolina) in the past & knew somewhat what to do. He is a very organized person.

Does anyone actually think he was hired bacause of his "coaching" skills???
He has served his purpose!

Turn it around????

We look worse now than we did our first year. This is why he was fired from Carolina. He has served his purpose, now it's time to move on....

I still question the offseason decisions made - letting Sharper and Glenn go and then Swinton and Sloan. I honestly think these were pieces that would have made a difference. Maybe Pendry should have been in charge of the offense from the beginning of training camp.

Since Casserly is not on the sidelines or in the box calling plays I might let him slide. But I would imagine that by watching the games that he can see the strengths and weaknesses and be better at fixing those weal spots.

I've given up on Capers as a head coach. There's not enough intensity - it any - in him.
