Peyton is a little girly dude...........

Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis(notes) has rushed for fewer yards this season (211) than Cowboys rookie DeMarco Murray(notes) had a single game (253), and he's missed more games (three) than he's been in the end zone (two). Since winning a fan vote to be put on the cover of "Madden 12," Hillis has engaged in public squabbles about his contract, missed a game because of strep throat, was accused of milking that illness for contract purposes and got married one day before saying he hopes he's not becoming a distraction. The last thing he needs is more bad publicity, but that's what he's getting this week in Cleveland after he allegedly blew off a Halloween party for 50 kids that he agreed to attend.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports Hillis' brother and agent confirmed that the running back would attend the event hosted by the Cleveland Boys and Girls Club. His presence was promoted and 50 children attended, some of whom were bussed from other locations to meet Hillis. Then the Browns star never showed.

He will probably miss the game with a hang nail......

BEREA, Ohio -- Browns starting running back Peyton Hillis made it through his first practice in a week without any trouble and intends to play Sunday at Houston.

Hillis has missed Cleveland's past two games with a strained left hamstring he injured against Oakland on Oct. 16. On Thursday, Hillis practiced for the first time since Oct. 26 and was able to run and cut without any difficulty.

"I'm on pace to be healthy and play Sunday," he said afterward. "That's what I'm looking forward to and that's what I'm hoping to do."

Hillis practiced one day last week, but suffered a setback and was kept out of Sunday's 20-10 loss at San Francisco. Hillis said he didn't have any problems and was able to do everything he wanted during Thursday's entire two-hour session.

"It was OK," he said. "I was a little hesitant, but I got three days and I was just trying to come back easy and slowly progress and get ready for Sunday. I'm obviously better. I went through practice and was smarter about it. I felt more confident and comfortable by going out there and doing what I usually do."

Browns coach Pat Shurmur had anticipated Hillis practicing Wednesday, but Hillis was kept out to get treatment.

Set back last week after only one practice. Sounds pretty hesitant today and evidently has not gone full boar. Would not be surprised he he plays, he experiences another "setback" during the game, especially if they overuse him......which they are likely to do since they have no other real weapons.

Sounds like some one else was pushed back too soon, and setback "at least a couple of weeks."

A bad season for Peyton Hillis just keeps getting worse.

Hillis re-injured his hamstring during Browns practice on Friday and early reports are that it will be a while before he gets back onto the field. Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer reports that an MRI of Hillis’ hamstring showed “significant aggravation” and he is expected to miss “at least a couple of weeks” as a result. Hillis has missed the last two games and was expected to start Sunday against Houston before today’s practice.

he sounds like a jewel. I wonder if he talks in 3rd person.
“I’ve never seen anything like it,” says one Browns veteran. “Last year, Peyton was such a positive, inspirational force on our team – but now he’s like a different guy. It’s like he’s in a funk that he can’t get out of, and it’s killing us, because we really need him. And we’ve told him that. But we’re at the point where we just don’t know what to do.”

During an interview session with reporters in the locker room of the Browns’ training facility Thursday, Hillis conceded that his dissatisfaction with his contract and the accompanying controversies – including his decision to miss a late-September game against the Miami Dolphins while suffering from strep throat – have made it difficult to get his “mind right.”
