Jaguars defenders accuse Texans of playing dirty

They never complained when we were the doormat of the AFC South, now we're a bunch of cheap shot artists?

LINK

I saw this earlier...... They're a bunch of crying babies. Talked a lot of trash and got beat. Take it like a man and move on. For years we were soft to other teams, now we're dirty? Go figure! I'd rather be known as a dirty winning team than a soft losing team.

The butthurt is strong in these two. Just focus on the next game. The Texans should have beaten you worse.

Thats right the Texans are a product of thier fanbase

That fat azz needs to shut his pie hole. Talking sheet and then getting your azz beat and what do you do? Keep talking. They're a bunch of sissies, grow a pair and sthu.

What's really funny is that the Jags d line is probably the best unit on their team. Maybe instead of crying about our completely legal blocking methods they should be bitching at their teammates for not stepping up.

one thing I've noticed is that the 'dirty' teams earn/ require respect. If that's what they wanna say, then my retort is keep it up! I love how he says that 'some guy' stepped on his head... so where's your helmet moron? Furthermore, if his helmet is ON, how's he know it wasn't one of his own knuckleheads?
They can try again in a few weeks against our refreshed squad.

Seriously!!! Because their front 7 is big, fast and physical. We were a bunch of arrogant softies earlier in the week according to that Big Slop in the middle so I don't know what to think of us now....... Maybe Kubiak should tell our guys to be nicer to the opponent on the field right? And when we make a good play don't even high five each other because we're showing them up........ Give me a break!

Come on kitties, don't be such Puccees!

What a laugh. +1 to all of the posts above.

I sure would like to get Mootini's take on this. He's a Jag fan but a great poster here. I wonder what his take is on what, if anything on the subject, is being said in J-town.

Knowing moontini, I'd say he agrees with us!

The hit on Gabbert by Cushing was indeed a cheap shot and should have been flagged, but that was the only thing I saw in that game.

He might. I sure didn't see anything that jumped out at me. I watched the Philly-Dallas game tonight and as expected they played like they don't like each other, but you could see play after play where you wondered if somebody didn't just draw a personal foul in that game. The Houston game I saw nothing of the sort, legal blocks and all.

After what Mincey said this pic jumped out at me. Maybe his head got squashed by his teammates trying to get Foster....who just got past him. :spit:

Nice pix!

I don't see any complain over on the Jaguars board (yet)!

Hell yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did anyone see Cushing get into it with one of the jagUars early in the game?

He tackled a jag player & while he was down, the guy jabs at Cush. Cush stops, because the play is over & the Jag jabs at him after the whistle. Cush gets up & almost started something but the referee saw it & jumped in.

That was dirty.

"I still don't like them, and I have no respect for them at all," he said. "It was just the dirty stuff they were doing. I don't want to get into specifics; I just don't like them."

Then....don't go into generalities either. Either come with it or don't bring it up.

"They're some nasty guys," Mincey said. "I was on the ground, and some guy stepped on my head. They're very dirty."

Why were you on the ground? Seems like the wrong place to lay down, in the middle of 14 big dudes in essentially a pushing match.

absolutely loved it, Cush basically forearmed his ass into the ground & dude got mad...Cush is a certified animal.

Agree...we all know stuff happens in the trenches. The Jags D needs to slap that very "Offensive" offense unit!

Agree...that was a cheap shot and was very surprised there was no flags! Gabby was sliding for a 1st down and took a shot to the ribs and then hit to the head from Cushing....you guys know, if this was Tom Brady sliding for the 1st down, the flags would have been flying! That's my issue w/NFL, the calls are not consistant, per players and teams. Anyway, great game and good victory for the Texans.

Nasty and dirty are two different things...

When I think of being dirty I think of sand in your eyes, pressing your forearm into a a person's throat when he's on the ground, grabbing genitals...you know...intent to injure...

Playing through the whistle...giving a little extra shove...finishing your opponent....Protecting your guys at all cost...

That's just how you are supposed to play as an O-lineman.

One thing that I've noticed is that we are getting more penalties called on us offensively. However, I'm starting to be okay with that because I see us being tougher now. In years past we would let the guy go past us. Now we seem to have a bit more fight in us. However it does kill us.

That was MJD.

Depending on who's doing it, I would also consider it nasty ;)

I'd say Cushing came in on Gabbert with intent to injure. You know if that had happened to Schaub all these posters would be screaming about how dirty it was.

I don't think so. It appeared to me that Cushing pulled up at the last second. He hardly grazed Gabbert and ended up doing a head first slide as a result. Now, if Cushing hadn't pulled up it would've been a serious collision with the intent to injure.

Considering he pulled up, he was not intentionally trying to hurt anybody.

I could be wrong, but that's how I saw it at the time.

Yea, I think it was Deji Kareem and I don't think he liked how as Cushing was tackling him he had his right forearm under his chin strap as he was driving him down.

Cush was already going to hit when the slide started...there's no way he could have done anything to prevent it. It was close enough to borderline that it could have been called or not.

I'm glad Cushing's returning to form, personally.

The slide was odd. It looked like he jumped in the slide position, instead of actually sliding. The spot was very kind, so its whatever.

I agree with this.

If Gabbert had always intended to slide, then do it. He waited way too long, and defenders were already in motion. You can't stop forward momentum, regardless of what the suit & ties at the NFL head offices try to legislate.

Warren Moon used to do that, as well. He'd wait until the very last minuted to slide, then whine when he' got hit. But that was the NFL as a man's game, before they started with the skirt trend that we see today protecting QBs like they are not football players.

I'll take that Cushing hit every time, even if it gets a flag. You know Gabbert felt it for the rest of the game, and anything that makes the QB think about your no. 1 LB is a positive thing in this sport called football.

As far as this story, the Jags are a losing team and acting like little bitches about it. Chumps. Del Rio needs a new team, one with less vaginal discomfort issues.

The fact that Cushing hit him was not cheap. Cushing did not pull up as much as he appeared to deliberately lead with his elbow. He was trying to put his elbow into Gabbert's ribs. I've watched it a few times. Gabbert didn't slide correctly, so that part is on him, but the elbow to the ribs appeared intentional to me, having intentionally put my elbow into people's ribs a few times myself.

I agree with that completely. I just think if the same hit had happened to Schaub, the whining would be coming from the posters on this board. If I actually felt like putting forth a little effort, I'm sure I could go dig up posts doing exactly that in similar scenarios.

I thought that was the biggest reason they didn't throw the flag. Looked like he started to slide, then changed his mind, then changed his mind again...... only so much the defensive guys can do.

I remember Haynesworth landing on Schaub and taking him out a couple of years ago. Schaub should have gotten rid of the ball. Some of this stuff is on the QB, as well. They often put themselves in these situations.

You can research the board, but don't get your posters mixed up. I've never complained (or whined) about a hit on Schaub. It's football.

And you're probably right, though, that some might take exception. But this is our guy laying the wood on their guy, so finally that hit goes our way.

As far as your elbow comment, I won't disagree. I've seen Ray Lewis use that exact same technique for 15 years, and the NFL uses his play as an example of how to play the game. Cushing is just taking notes from the best.

It was a fair hit, in my opinion once a QB crosses the LoS hes a running back and the same rules should apply. Also way too many of the elite QB's can gain like 5-7 extra yards on the end of any given run by doing the "im about to slide so don't hit me" motion. Its a win-win for them because if they get hit during any of that it generally gets called anyways.

As for the Texans playing dirty.. its honestly about f'in time. When our division rivals come out saying that we are really good people and even though we lost we still won a moral victory we aren't doing it right. Glad to hear some complaining about us finally.

As someone said earlier, imagine that was Matt Schaub & Poz... we would be calling that dirty & the ref's had it in for us etc, etc, etc...

Good point. Would you rather have the owner of the Baltimore Ravens telling you how good your club is doing after they spank you in your house?

Or would you rather have them say we are dirty after putting 24 points on their top 10 defense?

:koolaid:
