If you think some of our threads go a little overboard

They're not all dumb..
This is worse than the NE loss IMO. That was on the road and we were already 0-5. We were expecting to be bad. And also if I recall, we had a TON of injuries going into that game in the secondary. I remember rookies Mouton & Mccourty starting and well, they looked like rookies playing in the snow.

This was a 3-2 football team playing at home off of the bye against a team who lost two in a row and is missing arguably there two best players on there roster (AJ & Williams - argue Foster, those 2 are at least of the best 3).

Seriously, these WR's are AWFUL. Worst group in the league. Avery not being able to stay in on that catch was laughable and so was Hawk's catch off the Locker throw where he lost his balance out of bounds instead of being able to stay in and pick up the first down. Not to mention all of the drops from Hawk/DWill. If we don't look at Owens or another WR this week, we send out a message that this is acceptable and that is downright unacceptable.

The OL is a joke. Yes CJ looks different but I still attribute this mainly to the OL not being able to get a push whatsoever. And sadly, I'm not sure much can be done here. Amano & Scott are awful and Harris is avg at best. The only backup who might be semi decent is Velasco and let's be realistic, he's not gonna' fix our OL issues.

The DL is also a joke. They get pushed around on every single play, 6-15+ yard runs no problem. I swear it doesn't look like we have two 300+ pound DT in there. Two runners over 100 yards? What a joke.

The secondary has some talent but they play too much soft zone. Ten yards off the player, easy dinky catches that just drive it down the field. Finny has talent obviously, I still like Verner & Mccourty as well. We have no SS and Griffin is insanely inconsistent.

If this keeps up, not sure how many more games will win this year. It could be as bad as 2-3 more wins all season.

Good insight if you ask me.

Two fat guys in the middle.... smh...

I like this one. This guy uses reasons, stats, & trend to predict the outcome of the game.

Put down the pint. The Texans arent scoring 34 on the road and the Titans wont be helo to 13. The Titans could lose, but come on... You sound like those delusional Texans fans that predicted the Texans would beat the Ravens 35-20 or 42-17 etc etc .... Just throwing out a score without any consideration to trends or stats or probablities. The Titans only give up 18 PPG. They arent doubling that against a wounded weak Texans team with a bad Head Coach.

If that score happens that means the Titans had alot of turnovers.

I hope you werent being serious.

You should check out the Titans board today.

They are ready to trade or release CJ and one thread starter is putting Mike Munchak on the hot seat.

Not such a bad idea, he's been horrible...terrible.... If he's such a elite player he'd never gotten to this point imo. The whole rust thing or playing into shape can't be a excuse this far into the season. If they could get a 1st day pick for CJ in the offseason that's probably a great deal for them.

Munchak on the hotseat is a bit much though lol.

speed kills but i think chris johnson is a one hit wonder, i doubt he'll see anything remotely like his early success.

At least the complete meltdown after the Baltimore loss has been halted, at least for now.

Of course, if the Texans lose to the Jags on Sunday, then the meltdown will resume, with the effects likely to be worse than Chernobyl, Three Mile Island and Fukushima combined.

I don't understand how you don't "understand" the outrage after that Baltimore game.

Didn't you think we had it? Didn't you think it was ours for the taking?

We were playing well on both sides of the ball up until mid-way through the third, that was our game in their house.... & we let it slip away.

I personally don't think they beat us as much as we beat ourselves.

But that may be the rum.. er :koolaid: talking

I thought the Texans played very well during the Baltimore game, even considering the final outcome. The Texans are not going to win all their games, regardless of how upsetting that is to some people around here. New Orleans and Baltimore are both shaping up to be legitimate Super Bowl contenders. The Texans are just not at that level yet. Perhaps everything will comes together by the end of the season. That is possible, but it seems to me they are a year away from that yet.

The Oakland game was the one they lost that they really should not have in my mind. I know that the Baltimore loss happened more recently, so that is the one that many people around here choose to dwell on, but truth be told, the Texans did well to be as competitive in the Ravens game as they were. The Ravens are currently just a better team than the Texans. And the game was played in Baltimore, after all.

There do not appear to be any more games on the schedule against opponents of the caliber of New Orleans and Baltimore the rest of the way. Atlanta may well be as good as Oakland though, so that is one to watch out for. And the away games against Tampa Bay and Cincinnati should certainly not be overlooked.

There are a number of people on this board who are sufficiently irrational that they will effectively expect the Texans to win out and go 13-3, or they are going to be hysterically pissed. However, rational fans, such as myself and I believe also you, know that the Texans will likely lose at least a couple more games just as a matter of course, regardless of who is on their schedule.

I will be pleased with a record of 10-6 this year and a division title, regardless of how that is accomplished. A record of 11-5 and I will be seriously pumped. And anyone who is still a naysayer in those circumstances will be going overboard and will be being ridiculously unreasonable in my view.

CJ is just doing what Hainsworth did. Get your big contract and then take it easy. It's just a part of drafting and signing self absorbed players. I hope they sign TO next.
