That was the best i've ever seen Schaub play

Ryan

THIS YEAR
He started out really rough, going 0-4 and i was thinking "here we go again". But then he completes 18 of his last 19 passes for 296 and 2 TDS and NO TURNOVERS. Big time props to Schaub today, and outstanding job by the o-line in protecteion.

running game is a qb best's friend

I've got nothing against Schaub (today) but I've seen him play better. This game, I think every one stepped up the way they needed to, where Matt didn't have to "make plays"

He made some great throws, but that should be expected.

Yes, it is.

But, they won the game this way in spite of Kubiak, right?

We're 1-18 against team who end up having a winning record at the end of the season. Let's remember that at the end of this season.

Because it might turn out that Titans end up .500 or worse, which means we won this game today because they suck more than we do...not because this is some harbinger of great things to come for Gary and his kids.

I've seen this song and dance for going on 6 years now. It's routine until it stops being routine. ;)

So everyone was tripping balls about the Titans and how they're this and that, and now that we beat them handily, it's "oh, well, they could very well just turn out .500 or worse, so whatever, doesnt mean ****."

Sick of this goalpost-moving bull****ingshit.

This game saw a game plan that I think stepped away from Andre Johnson and found ways to get our guys involved in schemed plays for them. The Arian Foster pass play for a TD was that sort of play, IMO.

It's like our guys are learning they CAN play without Andre Johnson.

It was a game where I think Foster stopped being scared of getting his hammie hurt out there, He ran with authority and confidence. The offensive line got mean and nasty and stayed that way. Tate was fully healthy.

Kareem Jackson was benched after getting burned three times in a row, according to Thunderkyss in another thread. Jason Allen comes in and plays better, obviously. Not Pro-Bowl caliber, but still....better.

I'm just curious how Gary Kubiak ends up screwing the pooch as we go along. I know he has it in him. it's just "how" he ends up doing it that has me guessing.

I understand that, but had we lost, this could have been the kind of game the Titans needed to get started. If CJIgotPaid got off today, it could have been the start of his season.

At the same time, this is the same kind of play that takes the air out of a team that's been playing above their ability. Just like when the Cowboys came to Houston a couple of years ago..That game gave them hope.

We just knocked the Titan's hope into next season.

Don't you think Kubiak deserves even the slightest ****ing bit of credit for getting the boys ready and executing without Andre after it was a problem for two games?

I think he does. He also pulled Kareem Jackson off the field after his first mistake and I don't think he saw him again.

He also called Foster in the pass game much more often.

Kubiak called a great goddamn game today. And it's so....SO okay to give just a shred of credit to everyone involved without being a ****ing debbie downer.

You expect the team to screw up somewhere down the line, good. Great. Just ***** about it when it happens. Not after a ****ing great game where pretty much everything worked unbelievably great save for Danieal Manning getting hurt.

Just STUFF THE CRAP for once. That goes for everyone who spouts this garbage every freaking minute of every freaking day. It's a wonder how you people enjoy ANYTHING.

Settle down. Nobody is moving goal posts. We're actually operating within the normal playing rules here.

For six years, and I don't where you've been during those years if you're so yanked about this course of the thread's direction, I've watched a Texans team play Jekyll and Hyde every year like this.

We simply find ways to turtle up and tap out. We do. It's why we get called "soft," because we damn sure have the players to be better than we have been. We now have a defense that does likewise.

But you still are left wondering how we screw this up. Just as there are two halves in a game, there are two halves in a season. How do we react if we jump out to a 2 or 3 game lead in the division? Do we turtle up and lose it in the final week or two? It's possible. This team is a but cracker if there ever was one, friend.

It's just normal to think this way. We're conditioned to do so. Don't shoot the messengers here, OK?

Man, you have a raging hard-on for being angry today. Congrats.

I'm not being a Debbie Downer. I'm talking in hyperbole, but with a bit of history to back my off-the-cuff remarks up with.

Chill out. Go take some meds with your soft serve ice cream, Eric Winston.

Aw, what'samatter GP? Game didn't go the way you wanted it to?;)

Oh yeah, I stick around here just for the fun of it Marcus. Yeah, I really wanted us to lose today, You got me.

Anything serious to add, or just trolling like always? :gobacktoyourbridge:

Leave it to some people to piss people off so much after a win. I'm not surprised.

Should probably just get off the board for good. Stick around strictly for gameday discussion or if there are any news bits to discuss.

I can't believe this win is being ruined.

This is speaking as if there is like 2 games left in the season or something.

This is what's funny to me: Us being grumpy when we lose back to back games and then sunshine pumping when we beat down an obviously mediocre Titans team.

Yeah, we kicked a lady's ass today. I feel like a man.

Always good to win, I want a BUNCH MORE OF THEM THOUGH. Let's table the celebration dance until we reach the finish line and end up first.

Munchak was giggling on the sideline, which I thought was AWESOME. Always feels good to see the other team's head coach know he got destroyed in the game. But I'm a hater according to Marcus, and Matrix, because I won't crown us yet. Part Pooper = GP, I suppose. LOL......

loss to jax then what?

You're not a hater. I dont use that dumb**** term and anyone who does use that term should never, ever, ever be taken seriously for any reason.

Props to Schaub AND I really don't understand all his myopic detracters, but he has had better games.

Don't really know how to seriously respond to all the **** you manage to pull out of your ass . . but hey . . if anyone else wants to give that a whirl, it's a free country. :)

With the words you are using in most of your posts, I'd say you are instigating the behavior you are condemning. You were "pissed off" when you started posting.

If this is your farewell post the board will probably be a little less angry, just like you want.

Can't really fault fans for not buying into certain things. After what the fanbase has gone through the last few years, you've got to take that "Can't get too high, can't get too low" approach.

Besides, we're only 4-3.

On that note, it's great to see us take care of business in such a crucial game.

Schaub had a good game and wasn't pressured into putting the game on his shoulders due to the success of the running game...when this happens we are very tough to beat...I think the game ball goes to the OL

Laid out clearly what pissed me off. Came out guns blazing in response to the attitude being displayed intentionally ruining moods and whatnot after such a great performance. Doesn't put me in the wrong.

Whatever, I'll drop it. The pessimistic, crystal ball, Nick-Cage-in-Next horse-beaters shall continue to have their fun no matter what I or anyone else say.

Schaub's test was the games Foster was being stuffed .

Nobody is against Schaub it's just that he's limited and if your ultimate goal is a SB then it's a problem .

It's never how bad you beat a bad team that is your highwater mark . I think the Titans are the team that's been destroyed the last two games . They're really bad so that leaves who to challenge the Texans ?

So while beating the Titans like rented mule is fun it's one tiny step toward a playoff party . Also if they do go to the playoffs , I expect more next year .

Heck no, this only exemplifies what he is capable of doing. What happened to this in the 4th Qtr vs Baltimore, that game was ours.

What happened in the 4th Qtr vs Oakland.. we should have easily handled the Raiders at home.

What happened @ New Orleans, again, if he could have got our boys to play like this in the Big Easy, we'd be 5-2 right now, we should be 6-1 at least, but to go 0-3 in those games, inexcusable.

I think he does. He also pulled Kareem Jackson off the field after his first mistake and I don't think he saw him again.

Kareem came out & played more, but I'd bet that was Wade's call.

He also called Foster in the pass game much more often.
He called Foster in the passing game last week as well... Foster just failed to capitalize.
Kubiak called a great goddamn game today. And it's so....SO okay to give just a shred of credit to everyone involved without being a ****ing debbie downer.
I won't argue here, but he also did something to get them boys from Kirby to play like Champions..... we need him to do that every week, not only every now & then, not only when his job is on the line, but every week.

That's what seperates the good coaches from the Kubiaks.

Just STUFF THE CRAP for once. That goes for everyone who spouts this garbage every freaking minute of every freaking day. It's a wonder how you people enjoy ANYTHING.

I don't think I'd be spouting garbage, you know that ain't my way. But to say this proves anything about Kubiak.... you're asking for it.

Week in week out, just like the players, we need Kubiak to inspire this kind of performance every week. That talent doesn't just go away some weeks, that ability doesn't come & go. It's there & it's his job to get it out every week regardless how tough the other team is.

If you let a mb ruin your mood then that's your problem .

Never said it "proves" anything about Kubiak. Kubiak proved he wasn't a great coach a long time ago.

But my thing all along is to analyze game by game. Not just him, the entire team. Analyze properly and give accurate assessments. If that means the players deserve blame one gaame, Kubiak blows it one game, Kubiak gets credit for prepping but players execute poorly, the entire team sucks, the loss falls on Schaub, the win comes from DL play... then so be it.

Yeah, we kicked a lady's ass today. I feel like a man.

If you are one of those guys who said the Titans weren't crap... if you thought to check the junk before this game, I'll give you that.

But, I've got a feeling you are one of those who thought we didn't have a chance today... If you thought we didn't have a chance & the Texans stomped the equivalent of a mud-hole in hillbilly holler.... this is a big, big turnaround & for you to act like it isn't is disingenuous at best.

:koolaid:

If you let a mb ruin your mood then that's your problem .

Considering its a message board for the team I root for that has multiple agenda posters running amock even after a virtually flawless performance, one that we've been clamoring for, then yeah I'd say it's not shocking for the mood to be ruined. But that's definitely what you guys want. It's impossible for you guys to just enjoy a win without thinking about how we're inevitably gonna fail.

It's a wonder how you people are even sports fans. I would have killed myself a long time ago if I could never enjoy the wins.

i hear you bro, i still say schaub sucks and i get a beat down. he was great today with two rb's running for over a hundred yards. i became critical of schaub last year. he start 0-4 and my wife says here we go again with our suckass qb. she convinced me he didn't have it last year. people will think we are gonna make the playoffs after to day but i'm wondering if the schaub sucks next week when jax always seems to be more physical than us at the point of the attack. they have nothing to lose and are just here to ruin a homecoming.

My wife isn't a big Schaub fan either. She likes Brady & Sanchez.. I think it's the receding hairline more than the W-Ls

Did you take some estrogen by mistake .

One win isn't the goal anymore . I sill want them to go 11-5 because I think they can but not how they played the three previous games . So yes i enjoy the win but the better the Texans get the more the losses kill me .

she knows a punk when she's one? my wife thinks schaub is a pu***. she doesn't think he's a leader. she loves rackers intensity though. she also loves cush. hard for me to argue with her

Bottom line we just stomped a mudhole in our rival, are 2-0 in the division and get the sorry jags next week.

Let the good times keep rollin!

The play against the grain to Foster showed Schaub is a cerebral, cut above the rest QB. Foster, also solidified as an offensive gun, a deadly weapon.

In all the dust and blood of battle Schaub and Foster ran a perfect play.

I liked Schaub's game today, did good... liked that one pass to Daniels, put it in a decent spot in what was good coverage...

Kubiak did good today.

Now go find some of this stuff.... stat!

A dangerous running game is what makes this offense tick. Take away the running game and you take away the play action and boot leg passes. We ran the ball and protected well to boot, and in those circumstances Schaub plays like a pro-bowler.

Leave it to some people to piss people off so much after a win. I'm not surprised.

This is a football BBS. Overreacting to everything, both good and bad, is what we do. It's what most fans do. Everyone who posts here is guilty of it because it's normal behavior for sports fans. :)

Great game for the coaches and great one for the players. Schaub started pretty rough, but as Foster turned it on it relieved the pressure from Schaub and he turned it on, Im telling you that when he has pressure he folds, but if you keep him mostly clean he can be flawless. The run game is the most important thing to this offense and it seems like we figured out how to make it go without AJ. Will only get better once he returns....

The play against the grain to Foster showed Schaub is a cerebral, cut above the rest QB.
They ran the same play against the Raiders. It works when the defense overreacts to the play action boot. Which is setup by the run. Everything was clicking.

After the 0-4 start to Schaub's day. Wild would be an understatement regarding Matt's early inaccuracy. Then he went 18-19. Lights out. Efficient. Mistake free.

Was the run game on, today? Yes. Did the o-line block their arse off? Yes. Is that the only explanation to Schaub's performance today and the previous few weeks? I don't know. But, he played great today.
