What is your over/under on the sacks we will get against the Titans this Sunday? Keep in mind, They have only allowed 7 through 5 games.

So Far they have played (ranked by sacks, number of sacks, number of games)

Jacksonville (19, 11, 6)
Baltimore (10, 15, 5)
Denver (18, 12, 5)
Cleveland (17, 13, 5)
Pittsburgh (10, 15, 6)

Your Houston Texans are currently ranked 3rd.....
Houston (3, 17, 6)

They ain't seen nothing like our front seven yet.

Hasselbeck screwed the Ravens with his quick release. It may not be so easy for our front seven to get to him with the ball in his hands. And if not, and they play to stop the run with 8-9 in the box, that middle will again be wide open like it has been in the past few games.

I dont agree, besides ray roces one big run he was struggling pretty badly against us. Whatd he have like a 3.7 YPC

Their offense just doesnt give up a whole lot of sacks .... and thats partly because of its design and partly because Hasselbeck is pretty good at getting rid of the ball .

I think they can make him feel the heat .... get rid of it before he wants to , maybe make a couple bad throws or waste a play here and there but I dont expect big sack numbers.

If the over / under were three , I'd probably take the under (Or a push).

Hasselbeck is good in the pocket, but I think we get at least one. Perhaps 2 or 3 if the defense plays on all cylinders. Either way, I've got a bad feeling about Sunday.

I voted more with my heart than my head. I saw the words, "Hasselbeck doesn't get out alive" and thought, YEEEAAAHHH!!

The Titans have one of the best o-lines it won't be easy, 3 at the most?

Besides I don't think this necessarily correlates to leaving Tennessee with a win Sunday. The turnover battle and our redzone offense are way more important than getting sacks.

Hassellbeck will have a rough day. But that doesn't automaticly equate to a Texans victory as we all have learned so well.

when the tits played the ravens K Britt was still active so balt game not a true comparison. I hope HasselNOT does throw quick passes with Watt he will knock down passes and our defenses DBs (KJ) are beatable deep so quick & short will play into our hands well. I am scared of C Johnson in the flat.

Hasselbecks been good under pressure all year, and even though we get a lot of pressure on opposing QB's and getting a fair amount of sacks all year for some reason it doesn't really feel like we are doing it on enough downs, fast enough, or forcefully enough to make the other teams QB get uncomfortable in the pocket. It works well against immobile QB's who need time to let go of a ball and need to have a foot planted well to really be accurate but there just aren't many QB's like that anymore. Fast and mobile are in, Big and Sluggish is out.

(Voted 3 btw)

You are all correct. Hasselbeck has been playing very well. I don't know why anyone would have expected otherwise. I don't think Matt has ever been known as a bad QB.

The knock on Hasselbeck has always been that glass jaw.. injury prone... can't play a full season thing. In fact, I'll have to look it up, but I believe a key to that Super Bowl run was that it was one of the few seasons he played 16 full games.

It's not that I want anyone to get hurt, but it's going to be a blood bath, you know how we do (@Tennessee). I'm hoping these guys kick it up a notch. We're averaging close to 3 sacks per game, & we're getting a lot of pressures & hits on the QB. I'm hoping for 5+ sacks, & an appearance by Jake Locker.

Like I said, Hasselbeck has been one of the least sacked QBs so far this season, I hope to change that come Sunday.

I'm not sure if Hasselbeck played all 16 games but even if he did that was 6 years ago. That was the 2005 season when Shawn Alexander had over 1800 rushing yards and set the single season record for TD's at 28 with 27 of those coming from rushing which tied the record (at the time, was broken by LT) for most rushing TD's with Priest Holmes.

(voted 4) I really believe Antonio Smith and the interior of our line will confuse their line to open up sacks for Cushing, Barwin and Reed.

Maybe because for the past three years he has sucked. Maybe because he is having the best year of his career so far. I don't know why anyone would have expected that to be the case.

KJ is beatable deep. And Shallow. And intermediate. By good talent. And bad talent. And by random receivers people don't know. KJ is just...beatable. See also Allen.

We better hope we get pressure on the QB. Otherwise, our secondary will get torched again. Heck, Flacco even torched us with pressure... who knows..

I think the Texans front seven is more than capable of getting to Hback quite a bit, but if i had to bet i'd say one or two sacks and some pressures, maybe one or two more hits, but nothing crazy like i think they're capable of.. damn good line up in Nashville, maybe some Cush/Ryans pressure since their center is the weak link...

I'm more interested to see if Wade dials up a couple of blitzes from Quinn/Manning... Could be big... Could, would, should...

3 at the most.

Brooks Reed still has not shown that he can beat blocks once O-linemen get their hands on him...Antonio Smith has come back down to earth since Mario has been out. The NT's are invisible against the pass...JJ Watt has not been getting pressure consistently...

Barwin has starting stepping up though...

I'd like to see Braman get some opprotunities...I'd also like to see Cushing used more as a blitzer

I believe (could be mistaken) I saw a stat the other day showing Cushing to be the league's top LB in terms of QB pressure ..... Dont recall where I saw it but it I think the link is here on TT somewhere.

If the Texans get to frisky , I can see a bunch of screens to CJ . This isn't exactly a good thing .

This might sound strange... odd even. But I'd go with a nickel package & have Glover spy CJ.... Let Nolan play safety & see what he's got.

I mean other than that.

I see 3 or 4. I voted for three.

I'll go with Smith, Barwin, and Quin all notching a sack. Cush or Watt could add one too.

I think we win this one going away. 28-12 kind of game.

The only way I see lots of sacks is if Hass is softened up with some solid hits as he releases the ball.......hits that leave him counting the stars circling his head.

Scamp_Stars.jpg

But unlike the above, why force Hass to pay ten cents when he can see stars for free?:)

I'd like to see 4+, but I voted 3. I think Munchak will have them ready for this game. Verdict is out on Kubiak.

It depends on how well we play the run. I can see the tacks going run heavy and trying to control the clock.

Well, we did see Locker.

Not the blood-bath I was expecting, Innegan was quite the genitalman....

ah well, there's always next time.

I think they only sacked Hasselbeck once .... But they got a lot of pressure on him and made him get rid of the ball early , hell two plays in a row he threw it in the dirt and the pressure forced some poor throws .... Cant ask for much more.

Didn't really want to start another thread... but the front 5, the DL & the OLBs had a hell of a game today. Brooks Reed....... he's coming on. Everybody got involved today..... even Bullman.
