JJ as AJ!

Meh. He made a play that most WRs should make. He had seperation on Reed and the throw was in the right spot.

Not impressed...

Sorry for being a debbie downer but the dude needs to string together some good plays/games for me to compliment him. In my opinion, he still blows.

So in short....he is still far from AJ in my book.

Lets just be happy he caught it.

You need to watch the route he ran. And at the end he broke to the back of end zone. That was a very good play.

Ok, ok. Ill give it a closer watch. Im still gonna low brow the video while I watch it and say negative things under my breath no matter what I see though.

Im like an old man when discussing emo kids. Nothing said will convince me of their worth.

Daddy issues? :kitten:

JJ is good on deep routes where he can adjust to a ball in the air. He is not good on timing routes where precision is important

Lots of credit to Jacoby. The defense doesn't respect him so we don't get other benefits that we get when Andre's in there, but he made plays today. He ran routes properly, he made third down catches, and he had the beautiful TD play.

"jacoby jones is a between the 20's playmaker". "you have to get him in a catch and run situation or play action over the top".

the only thing that happened this week is that we used jacoby to his strength on one big play. if not for signing derrick mason, we're lucky to have 3 points this week because those 3rd down tight route plays by mason and walter simply dont happen with jacoby as the primary target. i said the same about slaton and i'm repeating myself here with jacoby. i dont mind the re-signing ... but these are specialty players.

as a major target, jacoby is an absolute waste. as a rusher, slaton is an absolute waste. screens, slants, and play action posts to jacoby are where he can use his natural talents to be a homerun threat. screens, draws, and motions are where slaton can use his natural talents to be a homerun threat.

we saw both jacoby's today ... the athletic post route beating ed reed. and we saw him taking a dive along with several horrible routes.

Umm jacoby played a hell of a game and he made more catches than just over the top or play action stuff or whatever you said. He made all kinds of catches and was the best wr for us today.

When Matt throws catchable balls he can make some plays.

Jacoby isn't all world, but he's not as bad as shammy make him look last week.

It's difficult to see what the WRs are doing when you are watching the game on TV. But there were some plays where you could see JJ was behind the defense... like the one Matt threw to Walter where Walter had to stop Reed from intercepting the ball. That should have gone to JJ..... If Reed was in the middle of the field. If he had the two receivers split, then yeah, either of the two. But if Reed was in the middle of the field it should have gone to JJ. Reed probably would have made a play on that ball anyway, but he wouldn't have been in a perfect position for the INT.

But JJ is not AJ, not even close. If we can get that thought out of our minds, then we'd be more pleased with what we are getting out of the little guy.

He's a 3 maybe 2, when we drafted him, we were hoping he could become a #2 to play opposite Andre, not replace him.

I've watched him for every home game, that's what I do, watch the receivers & DBs & he's been getting open at a very high rate. Just not getting a lot of balls thrown his way.

Matt may not trust him & I don't blame him, but without Andre, he's got to give JJ a shot. If he catches them every now & then, he'll stretch the defense. & that's what we've needed for the last two weeks.

umm ... jacoby had 4 catches. one was the great play action post. one he was 3 yards from schaub on a scramble, one i'm forgetting, and one was an intermediate that he curved too deep on and caught low. another he got lucky on a holding call on a route he was nowhere near his target.

if not for that one route which i've repeatedly said is where jones is strongest, it's a stretch to even call him average today. as the #1 it's still hard to call it an average day. mason and walter were better targets for schaub all day and the sole reason we converted so many 3rd downs against such a great defense. take away one play, a play that i've been advocating is jacoby's ideal because it takes zero route running capablity (instead relies on athleticism), and jones would again be blasted for his incredibly horrid routes and inconsistancies.
