No issue with Cush's play today, but as much as I like Reed, he's no Mario. Want to guess how many sacks we "just missed" because Mario was out?

your right our preasure level droped off without Mario. Reed is going to have to step up big time.

Yep. He is playing like he's back on the roids. If he is I just hope he don't get caught and keeps it in beast mode. Lol

Well, it sounds like Reed's gonna get plenty of time to work on his game now. Hope he's a quick study.

Roidios or not I think the biggest difference with this year is health and being on the practice field. He's really flourishing as a 3/4 MLB and the lead backer on the team. Demeco is looking good on his feet and even though his tackling is off he's still making a few plays a game. And someone finally got wind of his coverage, he plays the run downs/multiple TE&back sets....which is exactly how he should be played injury or not.

Barwin needs to step up his game. Reed too, Idk if standing up is still too new for him but he needs to have more impact as a rusher than he did today.

Demeco looked awesome, and the Cush is scary.
I'm a little bummed that Demeco leaves the field on nickel coverage since he seems to be such a critical component to this defense and I really think he'd probably improve pass defense.

Nope, that's why he comes off. Just not back to full speed yet and he wasn't the best cover LB anyway. Doing better every week, but he is much more the run support guy at this point in his career. That left arm deal isn't helping him wrap up on tackles though.

Cush is playing very close to his ROY status. Making plays all over the field.

Go Roids....

Agree, Cushing seems to be back to DROY status. He was all over the field and made a ton of plays. Demeco picked it up in the second half with some big TFL.

didn't cushing have some sort of knee/leg surgery earlier in the year and said for the first time from college he's playing/practicing normally and not injured?

He did have a good game but after one of the two big TD plays (have to look back to confirm which one) DeMeco was giving it to him and he was visibly upset with himself. Then he walked over and get an earful from the LB coach.

When Cushing plays the way he did yesterday he's one of the most entertaining Texans of all time, IMO. Talented defenders who play the game with some malevolence are a lot of fun to watch.
