Trindon Holliday Cut from PS

................According McClain this morning on 610, the Texans worked out mostly DB FAs yesterday, suspecting injuries dictating this. Evidently no WRs.

Change thread title to 'P.O.S. Holliday cut from Texans'

yet another wasted pick.

Best wishes on Holliday! Not a wasted 6th if his hands & confidence weren't damaged goods. Elite speed would've been a nice weapon :shoot:

P.O.S.? Seriously?

A bit overboard calling him a P.O.S. in my opinion. Wow.

Say that to his face. He was CHOSEN in the draft, your gripe should be with the ones picking players. Don't ya' think?

I'm wondering what took this so long to happen. He was/is always injured and when he did play didn't show much

Cut from the practice squad, after an injury to a WR?

There's a story as to why, and why now, but we'll never hear about it.

It certainly says something that in this time of need at WR......they cut him.

A 6th for a gamble on that kinda speed ain't bad. It's not good but maybe handle it better next time it happens, which with an ever improving roster should be pretty often.

Could be to make room on the roster by moving someone else to the PS for a coming FA move for a WR ?

hmmmmm.....
Well the "Why" could be as simple as Manning and Jacoby quite nicely fill the job he was drafted to perform - kick/punt returner - PLUS they play other positions too...? So why continue to have him taking up a roster spot?

I must admit that I don't have an answer for the "why now" part. And that IS an interesting question.

That's it. I'm writing Sheila Jackson Lee about this, she'll know why, why now, (why this wide receiver). :D

Kidding aside. It could be 'why now' was AJ's injury, plus lingering questions about the secondary's depth could have been the final straw. Like some have said before me though, we might not ever really know.

Maybe Ogbonnaya is headed back to the practice squad because Ward is coming back to back up Foster and the Texans want his roster spot for another player?

Could be WR or somebody else. WR seems logical though.

Obonnaya has to stay on the active roster for three weeks minimum.

I'm gonna attempt to predict the future...

Raiders sign FA Trindon Holliday from waivers.

He was on the Practice squad - the Raiders could have signed him at any time in the last 5 weeks for nothing but the minimum contract for a 2nd year player.

But they would have had to put him on the 53 man roster for a few weeks. Now that we've released him, they can just sign him to their practice squad and pump him for all the info about us that he can remember.

Knowing that this would happen, Smithiak fed him a fake gameplan before cutting him to throw the Raiders off.

Me thinks you are mistaking Gary Kubiak for a guy who would go to that length of trouble to fake out the Raiders.

Good idea, I agree, but Gary would not think of it...let alone do it.
