Death to Google Ads! Texans Talk Tip Jar! 🍺😎👍
Thanks for your support!

Matt schaub lol

I don't normally talk out my @ss like that... 2 plays later, me thinks I should more often..?

If you need 40 he will get you 33.
I you need 17 he will get you 10.

He just doesn't have it.

Love it when the haters speak too soon. "17" ha ha haha ha hah ha ha ha! :runaway:

And yet...at the quarter mark of the season Schaub has guided the Texans to a 3-1 record.

He really hasn't done stupid things to kill the team so far...he's put the ball in the air nicely when he's had to, he's only ONE OF THE LEADERS IN ACCURACY...HELLO. He's executed most of the plays well...

"Need 40...get 33?"

And the "40" points are supposed to be a Schaub issue?

Anyone notice how when he actually ran to pick up a first so that the team can stay on the field, we actually scored a TD in the RedZone?

Matt Schaub is a bargain of a QB. The numbers he puts up for the money he earns is great. He's a good QB, but not great, so he really needs a great running game to compliment him in the passing game. He's good enough for now.

Schaub and Roethlisberger are the same exact size but play nothing alike. I'm not calling Schaub fragile, but he certainly is not as tough as other QB's in the league. I see Ben scrambling and making plays where Schaub automatically falls into the fetal position. I wonder if he's under orders not to do much of that stuff because he sucks at it and our backup QB is Leinart.

We need to start planning for a post Schaub/Andre era. We do NOT want to be like Indy.

For some reason every time he throws for under 300, it seems like we win. When we have a solid running game and play with a lead, I think Schaub does his job as good as anybody. And he's not the worst at playing from behind when he has his playmakers on the field.

He didn't goof up one time today so i have no fault with the way he played.

This! ^^^^

Once we all agree Schaub is a good QB, not great, then we'll be much happier. We can't rely on him to single-handedly win games for us (like a Manning, Brady, Brees, or Rogers). What we can rely on him to do, though, is move the ball down the field, put the ball in our play makers hands, and not make too many stupid mistakes.

those are pretty good stats IMO.

Stats are for losers .....

Schaub makes a lot of bad throws that his recievers make up for .... Case in point was the one OD had to pick off the turf today. He has a couple of those a week .... and the .... TD that Walter had last week.

He has a lot of weapons at his disposal , an awesome running game , a great OL and a very solid scheme .... there is a very small difference between good and great in the NFL .... Schaubs good , not great .... no matter what the numbers say.

really who? And state when you think Texans will be drafting.

Late first round should be when we draft, but we may have to move up to grab a one of the top 3 on this short list:

Justin Blackmon OKST
Alshon Jeffrey SCarolina
Michael Floyd NotreDame
Jeff Fuller A&M
Ryan Broyles Oklahoma
Kendall Wright Baylor

I'd rather have an arsenal of good to great players that can form a cohesive unit, than one big gun who's team self destructs without him.

Im not complaining about Schaub at all .... You can win with a QB like him. Just look at the list of QB's who have won superbowls with good talent around them.

He's just not going to put the team on his shoulders and win a game for you.

Oh no...I was agreeing with you! Maybe it didn't come out right. (It's been a long day!) I too think that Shaub will never be considered one of the greats. And I complain about his accuracy and lack of arm all the time (The TEs and WRs always seem to have to backtrack to catch his longer throws).

I guess what I should have said was that we're lucky Schaub - good as he may be - has such an arsenal of players at his disposal.

haha i do remeber when so many of these same posters that hate on schaub were wanting Sage over Schaub.

Well.... I don't remember if I was one of those guys or not. I definitely wanted Sage over that other guy.

I didn't want to trade two 2nds for Schaub when we had Sage, I'd just as soon got us a QB through the draft let Sage start until the kid was ready to play.

I was looking at Brady Quin in that draft.... we took Okoye. I think Kubiak could have done more with Quin than Smith & Bush did with Okoye... so it's a wash I guess.

But I'd have loved to have seen what Quin could have been sitting out for the year with Kubiak on the sideline.

But hey, we've got Lienart... six in one hand......

Yeah, Matt's not even in the Top 5 passer rating this year .....

He's 6th.

1st & 4th in passing yards in 2009, 2010.

Dude is just no good. :dontknowa

I'm the same height, only weigh about 10lbs less and I go to the turf faster than Schaub.

Signed,

Payton Manning. :kitten:

I see Ben playing hurt every season. Sure, playing hurt shows how tough you are, but playing hurt also has a tendency to reduce your effectiveness.

Ben played us tough, fought for those extra yards... he still lost the game and wound up in a walking boot with an injury that could bother him all season.
I appreciate what Ben does, but not every QB is built as solidly as he is, and most QBs would miss some games each year if they played with his playing style.

Matt Schaub should continue to limit his exposure to injure when it's in his control to do so.
