"It seems Carr does have what it takes. It seems Houston doesn't have what it takes. Carr throws the short ball very well. He is accurate and has a zip. He just needs head coach Dom Capers to take the leash off the playbook and spread the field. The longest pass play so far this season covered 28 yards."

cant open the playbook if carr doesnt have the time, or patience, to wait on routes to develope.

"Dom Capers to take the leash off the playbook and spread the field. The longest pass play so far this season covered 28 yards. "

Capers open up the playbook? This guys kidding, right? To begin with, there would have to be plays in the playbook to open up and we sure have not seen them in 3+ years!

"The team might have fired offensive coordinator Chris Palmer after two games, but Week 4's offensive game plan looked very similar to the ones from the previous two contests, and from the previous two seasons for that matter. "

OK, folks, who do you think is calling the shots? Hint, not the OC. Pendry is on the same short leash as Palmer and is limited to trying to improve execution (Capers favorite word)-improving effort/attitude--no way is Capers going to open up this offense!! It's still '4th qtr or bust,' and we all know the answer to this Caper's 'battle cry.' :brickwall

How many ways do you have to say it? Capers has to go and so does the whole coaching staff. Casserly is just as much a victum of this coaching staff as is the OWNER, the FANS, and more importantly the PLAYERS. We have talent, but no coaches. We are a small ship in the middle of a hurricane with the captain on leave. Capers is so in over his head it isn't even funny. Does he understand a lot of the mechanics of being a head coach? Yes, but he's not a manager. Can he take notes on what is going wrong? Yes, but he can't fix it. Can he adjust his game plan based on what the other team is doing? No, because according to his plan they are not suppose to be doing something he hasn't planned for. He's an iceberg on the field slowly melting from the heat of action. By the end of the game nothing is left. Oh, yes, he does have the comment for the day. "If only we would have executed".

"But what if Carr was Detroit's starting quarterback? Now that would be interesting"

Or anybody elses quarterback, that would also be interesting. And if Carr and the Texans don't have a meeting of the minds about his big payment due and payable March, '06, were gonna get our curiosity satisfyed.

That is very true. Look for Carr and the Texans to come to an equitable reasoning. I just want to san nun that the Lions, Bears, Jets, Ravens(especially), and Bucs would kill to have a QB with Carr's talent.
