Saints will be wearing the throwbacks from 69

At least that's whats being reported on Saints Forum according to local radio in New Orleans.

I have seen some stores that still have paper, but it is definitely not what it used to be. The good news for Saints fans who want to rock the throwback look is those in the picture are wearing the paper lawn bags, which are still sold at most places with a lawn center.

Don't be jealous. Just cuz your team isn't old enough to have throw backs, doesn't mean you should hate on ours! :nolisten:

Why would be jealous of your throwbacks? That represents a time when your franchise was more futile than even my Texans!

Even Vince remembers: :vincepalm:

No throwbacks but we DOMINATE you in Jersey/Pant color schemes. Take that!

Gold Jersey uniform = Greatest in the league evaaarrrrrrrrrr!!! :splits:

(ignore the guy wearing it....these are not the droids you're looking for)

I dunno... I grew up a Braves fan AND Saints fan in the 80s. Not much winning, but there's a certain nostalgia remembering those days before the bandwagons got full.

And seeing these throwback uniforms:

was pretty sweet, even if it was a nod to the bygone days of Braves suckage.

Indeed it does, although that's part of what makes being a Saints fan so much sweeter these days: remembering where the franchise has come from and seeing where it finally has gotten. I was a child of the eighties so I never really got to experience the really bad years, but I was there when we played a "home" game against the bears in Tiger Stadium... I'm sure Vince remembers that too :vincepalm: ... Point being, we are proud of our history, even if the history isn't proud. Bandwagoners cheered when Hartley's kick went through in OT, the Old schoolers cried.

Is anyone else tired of these throwback jerseys? I know I am. It's just a marketing ploy to try and sell some more NFL swag. I wish they would just stick with the normal uniforms all year.

I was referring to gold being as bad of a color for a jersey as teal, like the Jags, its a Texans fan thing, lol.

At least its not as bad as the new Marlins logo though.

Man...the 1990s Spurs fiesta paint splash logo thinks that the Marlins are jacked up.

Do people even use paper sacks anymore??

I do. Its easier to transport my groceries in paper bags than plastic. Plus, it doubles as a garbage bag, so 1) I don't have to buy extra garbage bags and 2) its better for the environment to throw away 1 bag than 2!

Saving money and being good for the environment!

As you are aware, I am a very politically correct person and therefore opt for these:

Aaaand here they are

...also, lest you think you'll finally catch that glimpse of Drew Brees' undoubtedly enormous junk, they will indeed be wearing pants:

This is just guess, but I would imagine you are the type of guy that only has sex in the missionary position?

And now we know what the 'old timers' are watching when their team takes the field? The old timers will probably cry about that too! Hi-yo!

Haha! Nah, I just wanted to make sure you boys didn't get your hopes up, What's that they say comes from Texas, Steers and ...? :fingergun:

Do you ever buy any of them?

If not, don't worry about it. Some people love the stuff & can't get enough.

I don't buy them, but I enjoy seeing them every now & then. To me, it's paying homage to all those guys who played when it wasn't about the money.

East Texas - Louisiana = Same difference! :turtle:

That's about right, especially down here in South East Texas. I mean those guys East of the Sabine talk funny.... & some of them smell funny..... but there is a lot of traffic back & forth along I-10.

I'd say close to half the guys I work with actually live in Louisiana. Several of my buds work in Louisiana. When I worked construction one day I'd work in Texas, the next day... Louisiana.

We fish the same lakes... most of them shop over here... it's only half an hours drive to get to a casino boat... it's all good down here.

I particularly enjoy the twisted idea that the league has figured out how to make a bunch more money off paying homage to guys who played when it wasn't about the money.

It's just so..... :spit:

I swear, the NFL owners collectively have forgotten more about making money than most of us will ever know.

Whoaaa, how was I not aware of this?

Damn. I mean who looks at the OKC Thunder's logo and think that's a good idea?

I lol'ed my way thru all three pages. There's some funny stuff here. I wish we could've kept the Oilers name and records like Cleveland did with the Browns.
