Was it this bad???

THEFUTURE

Rookie
some "fans" and i say that term loosely, are acting like the texans have lost 20 games in a row. we are 0-2, we are not the only team, and we have played two pretty solid teams with two elite defenses. i was not on this board last year, was it this bad after we lost to the Chargers and the Lions, who definetly were not as close talent wise to Bills/Steelers... everyone should take a deep breath. no panic buttons are needed just yet. getting rid of palmer was necessary, only because Carr was uncomfortable, and your franchise quarterback, whether you like him or not, needs to be comfortable. please stop writing like we are following our team into hell. changes will be made more than likely if the texans don't pull it around. but the "fire everybody and hope it turns out for the best" tactic is not the best way of going about business.

put it this way.

If the Texans had shown up on sunday in week 1 and week 2 and all they did was step onto the field and forfeit.. not playing a single down.. would you still feel as though we are "just 0-2".. and that "fans" are unjustified in their reaction?

Because that is basicly how most people feel. They were pathetic showings with no heart.. we showed no drive and no skill and basicly gave the games away without putting up a fight.

If you cant understand where people are coming from... fine.. whatever floats your boat.. but dont point fingers at other people because they see more problems than just our wins and losses.

We were 0-2 last year and I was still positive about our chances.. but if you compare the way we played in the first two games last season to the way we played in the first two games this season.. its like night and day.

Some people on here really aren't fans, they are pessimists, sceptics, and defeatists.

personally I think the Texans could use more :fans: "Fans" :fans:
Keep your "fan cheat sheets" on you at all times. Cheat sheet tip #1 Texans' fans should cheer for the Texans.

Alas to many a "Fan" is just something that blows air.

True the first few games were more than losses, they weren't pretty. But we'll make up for it this weekend ( **fingers crossed** )

Last year we attributed the losses to some unfortunate turnovers but saw the offense do a lot of good things as well. This year, the offense has just been bad. Hardly anything good has become of it except Carr didn't throw any ints against Pitt which was kind of nice. Of course he did have to fumble on like the 20 so that kind of set us back.

"I personally must be the execption. I blindly support the coaches and the team and assume all the moves they make are the right ones until proven wrong. I will defend our guys to the end when debating who is better even if i know i am wrong. To me that is what being a die hard fan is all about." LBC JUSTIN

...'until proven wrong' or 'even if I know I am wrong.'

Well, I guess that about says it all if you want to call your self a die hard fan.

Its not about losing, it how they lost. Its the we dont care if we lose funk that has most of us "fans" upset. We can handle a lose, just not an effortless game.

I have to agree with most of the other postings. It isn't the fact that we lost the games, it is how we lost them and how the team isn't playing with any heart at all. THIS IS MY TEAM and I am a fan of the TEXANS FOR LIFE but I want my team to show heart and a will to win. The first two games have been the worst games in our short history. I was at the Steeler stomping of our TEXANS and it was hard to watch. It looked like we only had a few players trying to win out there and the team just didn't seem like a team. During Timeouts they didn't huddle up together they were all in their own little space...not together in it as a team should be. They are not there to help their fellow players up and they just didn't seem to have that heart that our team has had over the first three season. They always played hard and gave it their best shot in the past but that isn't the case so far. They are just not playing good football. Win or lose is one thing but it is how you do it that makes a big difference on fans.

yeah but the point is, San Diego and Detroit don't have anywhere near the talent on defense that Buff and Pitt have. not by a long shot. and overrall, our defense has given up somewhat close numbers to opposing teams this year as they did last year. but back to our offense, if 10 games down the road, Pitt is taking out every team they play and holding them to low point totals (besides the Pats, well because they are still the Pats) then some fans will look back and say "hey, maybe it was just because they had a really good defense"... well no ******* sherlock. i can tell you that right now. those defenses are elite, and we won't be the only team being made to look like poor offenses when they play em...its natural for players to get frustrated when they are not able to get anything going. any athlete knows that. believe me, if the Texans had only scored 7, and only gave up 3 to Pitt and Buffalo... 75% of the fans knocking the team right now, would not be saying anything. it ultimatly is all about wins and losses

Finally, another optimistic! Yes, the Texans are 0-2 when I was hoping alot higher, but it is what it is. Can we change the past? No. Can we better ourselves for the future? YES. I hated seeing houston lose just like everyone on this board but I haven't lost faith and nobody needs to. We need to take this game by game and see what happens. Bashing our own team and saying how horrible they are is not the answer and never will be. Instead, lets see how Pendry does and see what the football gods have in store for us this week. Who's with me on this one?

I think alot of my frustration is coming straight from the overall team effort. I could care less about wins or losses at this point. It's as if the team has just gotten used to losing. In our first and second year, even our third, this team could be down 30 - 0 in the fourth quarter and would still play with intensity and alot of heart as if their chances to win the game were high. Now it's as if they just give up before the first quarter is even over.

...another 'my opinion is the only opinion that counts and should be posted,'
any chance you'll follow your own advice?

"Or better yet Just go to a site where your boo hoo's will be better accepted"

Is there some requirement that a different person, each day, must post a thread calling out their fellow fans?

Seriously, this is getting OLD.

EVERY DAY I have come here and I have seen the standard "I'm a real fan and you're not a real fan" thread. Stop the insanity and figure out that we are ALL fans and you are not handed the responsibility of being the one who defines who is a "real fan," and who is not.

I agree with the other people in this thread who say it's not the losses so much as it is the lack of desire and the lack of passion by this team. I was upset about last year's two losses, but we at least were moving the ball very well in those games and it resembled a team of adults. Now, it's like watching a bunch of junior high kids who are pee-o'd at their mom and dad, or at the coach, and they're going to sulk and take it out on the win-and-loss column.

Oh, shut up. I'm the only real fan in this thread and should, therefore, be the only one posting, unless (of course) somebody agrees with every stupid comment I make. :)
