I thought he retired a couple of years ago...........

It doesn't surprise me. His last year was like Favre's last season. Not a worthy way to end HoF careers.

He could have performed better. Like he said, "he plays when he wants to play." He meant that. Moss was reportedly talking to a lot of teams. My guess is that he was flabburgasted at how little anyone was willing to pay him after seeing him dog it on 3 different teams last year even after getting kicked off the Pats. He probably couldn't fathom getting paid so little when he's used to being a top 5 WR and getting a lot of money. Kind of delusional for him to think that teams were going to offer him much after what he pulled last season though.

He finished his career with 954 receptions, 14,858 yards, and 153 touchdowns – good for eighth, fifth, and second on the NFL all-time list.

All while playing with a poor attitude and lack of effort for a significant amount of the time. Amazing to say the least. Most talented WR ever, but not the best.

And as much as the voters deny it that is going to affect their voting. He'll probably get in the Hall eventually but I bet it isn't in the first year. Won't be surprised at all to hear some arguments that he did nothing unless he had a QB playing at an elite level.

That's would be funny considering he made Culpeppers career.

Same could have been said about Jerry Rice, but he got in first-ballot.

That insane record breaking season for Tom Brady could also be
directly attributed to Moss. When he wanted to play, nobody was
better. He got out of the game with his health. I wish him luck, and
am damn sure he'll be elected first-ballot.

There is a difference between predicting an argument will be made and endorsing it.

Culpepper in his prime was an excellent QB. The year Culpepper set the NFL record for yards Moss was a virtual non-factor. Plus with any QB/WR combo there is a chicken and egg conundrum.

My money is on Moss making it but not the first year.

Now, that is just ridiculous. Brady was practically a HOF, before Moss ever even got there. He just wasn't a statistic wizard because they didn't air it out as much and played with more of a ball control offense.

What Brady did last season with Welker, Woodhead, and a ton of other young WR's and TE's while kicking Moss to the curm completely proved that Moss was never what made Brady successful.

You could say that with Culpepper, but with Brady?? Not even close.

No question he should be a first ballot HOF guy. He's easily top 5 of all time as a WR.

Should be. But WRs have had a difficult time, recently. Really, it depends on who will be eligible for the HOF in that year. We know Favre will be. I can't think of anyone else on their level that's retiring this season. I didn't see all of the great WRs of the past. But Moss would have to be in my top 3 (Rice, Harrison, Moss).

Yeah because all of the voters, which includes current HOF'ers, love his dogging it in games and his desire to play when he felt like it.

Guy dishonored the greats of this game with his piss poor attitude and attention whoring. Should NEVER get in.

What you posted was false.

Excuse me for pointing it out.

And after that he pulled a Randy and retired while still collecting a paycheck from multiple teams. How is that false?

You want facts?

You ever watch this guy play? Great receiver, no heart. He has dogged it on every team he's been on. Yeah he got his stats, but the plays he takes off hurt his team because you can read what the offense is doing.

No thanks. Give me a player with heart everytime over someone like Randy Moss.

You said a "several years ago." That was false. He had great seasons up until last year where I agree that he basically packed it in. Say what you want about him, but he was a top 5 WR every season of his career other than last season and the two seasons in Oakland. Hate the guy all you want, but be objective.

I actually said "a couple of years ago" as in after his last good season.

It was a joke, amigo.

That's fine, but I was pointing out where it was inaccurate. I don't play guessing games with your posts. I agree that he did "quit" last season and he also did in one of those seasons with the Raiders and in random games here and there throughout his entire career. He was still a beast even playing half ass at times though and a very valuable player that could take over games.

Alright, hey I think powerfuldragon is giving a clinic on sense of humor, interested?

I don't play guessing games with your posts. Sorry, I took what you wrote as what you meant. That is sort of how it goes around here. Maybe you should just stop crying about the correction and look up stats before posting something that wasn't accurate next time. Or tell a better joke.

Now, that's funny!
