Power Ranking: 8

Free Agents: CB Johnathan Joseph, S Danieal Manning, G Kasey Studdard, DT Damione Lewis, T Rashad Butler, WR Jacoby Jones, DT Tim Bulman, QB Matt Leinart

Rookies: DE J.J. Watt, LB Brooks Reed, CB Brandon Harris, CB Rashad Carmichael, S Shiloh Keo, QB T.J. Yates, T Derek Newton, LB Cheta Ozougwu

Released: QB Dan Orlovksy, DT Amobi Okoye, WR David Anderson

Predicted Order of Finish (Division): First

Notes: The Houston Texans are ready to take control of the AFC South.

In 2010, the Texans split with the division champion Colts, winning one and losing one during the regular season. Had Houston's defense been better, it's easy to see how they could have won the division last year.

In 2011, the defense will be better. Much better. Coupled with the hiring of coordinator Wade Phillips are the signings of top players Joseph and Manning in the secondary, as well as a draft class loaded with players for the 3-4 scheme Phillips will be installing in Houston.

sorry about that, just never seen the Houston Texans with such a positive outlook on national scope heading into a season :fans:

You know I've got the Kool-aide on an IV drip, but 8????

Oddly I looked at all the teams ranked behind the Texans & I don't have a big problem with most of them.

But..... the Tacks at 31?

If Hasselback is healthy, he's going to play, & he's going to win. He's due for a healthy season.

I just don't see them at 31.

The Browns at 29?? not buying that either.

Giants at 17?? They definitely belong ahead of the Texans.

Lions at 14? Seriously? The Lions are in the top half of the league? Hasselbeck has a better chance of making a full season than Stafford.

Colts at 11? Then the Jets is a better team at 10?

I've got minor issues with 1-7...

I am willing to look at all info then decide whether I want to agree, bleacher report included.

Every year for the last couple years someone somewhere has said the Texans will win the division. Then they don't. It would be nice if one of these years the Texans actually live up to their pre-season hype.

Also, ranked 8th in the league before even the 1st pre-season game is just to high. But whatever. Maybe this is the year. I mean, one year it's gotta be the year, and it might as well be 2011. God knows we've waited long enough for it.
