Interesting that #2 pick Reggie Bush and #3 pick Vince Young get released from their respective teams. Texans are so dumb for not picking them.

Hey VY, this is Rick Smith from Houston. I know you've had it in for us a while but I'm calling you to give you an offer that I think is fair. Now just give me a listen first and let's see what you think. Have you noticed how noone has been calling for your services? Noone thinks you are worth a trade? How everytime NFL network says your name, there's always an analyst that says "but what about the off field issues?" Well what if you could prove all those people wrong Vince? And what if you could do that by staying home and getting paid an NFL contract? Right now we got a QB that's on the verge of being a very dangerous one in the league but we only got Leinhart as the backup. This would only be one more thing you've beat him out of again. Now listen man, what you need is to not have the negativity surrounding your name. You need to show you are a team player. You can come here, clear your name and hey if Matt isn't the same Matt again you could most definetly be right there ready to take the opportunity that you passed up your Sr. year in college for and MAAAYBBEEE even a chance to get back at Bud Adams. Worse case scenario is you show everyone you've matured by sitting for a year on our bench with your mouth shut and then we send you over to a team that shows interest in you next year. All while collecting an NFL contract now.

You really can't be serious that you would want that. That would be the WORST thing to do from a franchise stand point is to bring him in here to back up Schaub. WORST MOVE IN THE HISTORY OF WORST MOVES!

Props, Lombardi.

Somebody do a scouting report of that Longhorn site and report back here. I'd love to read the whine and cheese in defense of their chosen one.

The Shag has a thread on it that was started long ago:

They are not too pleased with the Titans. Doubtful that anyone who became a Titans fan for Vince will remain one after this debacle of a PR move.

One poster:
Lombardi just blasted Vince Young on the NFL Network while slobbing on Jeff Fisher's knob. .....What a slobbering fatass WAP piece of ****!

I am not a big fan of Jamie Dukes, but he had VY's back when the damn grease ball would actually let him speak. Damn....Lombardi has an agenda.

I don't think they are Titan fans any longer.

You Texan fans in Austin won't have to watch the Titans on TV anymore.
I hope VY ends up with either the Giants, Redskins, or Eagles. The dichotomy of bandwagon fans being confused about their allegiance(s) contains a bit of schadenfreude for my entertainment benefit, of course.

VY friends were tweeting him "congrats" yesterday abt signing w/ Eagles & then messages mysteriously disappeared. #donedeal
I think he's proven how emotionally soft he is. If he couldn't handle the scrutiny in TN what does he think eagle fans will do to him if he plays as poorly or acts wussy as he did for the teets? He better pray that vick never gets hurt. I want to see how he would fare in that kind of environment

Is it me or is Orlovsky our backup and Matt went else where, and I am not sure Orlovsky is better than Vista.

Vince Young to join Eagles. I'm sure nothing bad can come from mixing a mentally fragile athlete with Philadelphia fans.

If Young comes in and acts like a man and plays football to the best of his ability, he will be fine.
If not, he gets what he asks for.

Eagles agreed to terms with QB Vince Young on a one-year contract.

It didn't take V.Y. long to realize there was no market for him as a starting QB after failing to bring an NFL commitment-level to the table in Tennessee. A one-year stint as Michael Vick's backup is a smart move, allowing him to stay under the radar and enter the market again next year at age 29. While Young may struggle to pick up the West Coast offense in camp, he won't be asked to take the reigns anytime soon. Regardless, he's now the best insurance policy in the league, capable of keeping the team in contention even if the starter goes down.

Let me start by saying I am not a VY homie. But I do think the eagles are the best spot for him because he is more similar to Vick than any othere QB out there. Not saying he is close to Vick but similar that they are both runners. That type of play will get the QB hurt on a regular basis and if your back up is similar you dont have to change the offense to suite a pocket passer. You just keep going like you were and stick with same offense. I think that makes it easier on the rest of the players on the team. No doubt he will get playing time. should be interesting year.

Andy Reid will let him play the kind of plays he designed for Vick when Vick was backing up Mcnabb!

I sure hope Jerrod Johnson doesn't pick up any bad habits from Vick and VY.

BTW, it just occurred to me that Philly now has 3 run/pass black quarterbacks on it's roster.

This is what most writters and radio guys in Philly think will happen. Keep in mind Young only received a one year deal. The Eagles are very high on Mike Kafka, their 4th round pick last year. Kafka is a Kolb type QB and his development was one of the reasons for the trading of Kolb.
So it would not shock me to see Kafka get a start over Young if Vick went down.

Kafka had 887 rush yards in college. I would say he is a bit of a runner also but I am only looking at stats, I don't remember seeing him play. with Jerrod Johnson pick up and VY, Kafka might also be on trading block.

Mornhinweg said last year that Kafka picked up the offense faster than any player he has ever coached. Needs playing time to develop.
The signing of the A&M QB was unexpected to me, as all the talk was about finding a vet backup.
The Eagles could be looking for someone post Vick and what kind of offense they will run. With Macklin and Jackson, they are more down the field then the short stuff of the WCO.
