What with all the hate for D.A.? I've always liked the guy. Granted he's small, but the dude is tough as hell and makes some clutch receptions over the middle when needed. He may not get a lot of playing time, but how much of that is his fault? He's a gamer and has heart. That goes a long ways with me.

I thought NFL players were overpaid and should be able to do just fine during a lockout. I mean, that Aerobed was pretty sweet, but he still had a crappy couch. I mean, couldn't he at least afford a fold-out couch or something? Maybe he wasted on his money on hookers and blow .....
someone tell him to invest in an actual camera.

Yep. It's not as if we're counting on him to be our 2nd or 3rd wide receiver. He's a special teams guy and occasionally gets on the field on offense. He's good at the role he plays.
DIs guy has future in Houston Sports radio
Sadly no future in da NFL : I
Agreed.
With the game on the line, I trust him to make the catch far more than I do JJ.
umm... Most, if not all, of your posts make me want to
It's not just that I disagree, but also the writing style if you can call it that. I
have a feeling you may be the source of "Where do babby come from?" and
regularly speak out in the real world like a walking "I can has cheezburger"
post.
U mad ????
Anderson has no value on special teams. Doesn't make big plays. And he's not that funny. How does he remain on the team?Yep. It's not as if we're counting on him to be our 2nd or 3rd wide receiver. Couldn't agree more. Even when Studdard was still on the team, perhaps the most blatant example of Kubiak cronyism ?Anderson has no value on special teams. Doesn't make big plays. And he's not that funny. How does he remain on the team?
I see all of the hate Jacoby gets, and he's made 10X the plays Anderson has. I don't get it.

5 career returns for 26 total yards and one muff. That's "reliable"? I'm thinking "incompetent" is a more apt adjective.Anderson has returned punts. He doesn't pick up big yardage often but he has sure hands and is pretty reliable. Special teams wise and receiving wise.
The Texans had an opportunity to in effect move DA a couple years ago and recover their initial investment, however Kubiak decided against it ?

In 61 career games, Anderson has 3 TDs. Again, no value on special teams as returner or on coverage teams. Why is Anderson on this team? Or in the league, for that matter?
Show up to practice and know the plays? That's Anderson's strong points? That makes him worth of a NFL roster? Also, he is reliable in the sense that he shows up to practice, doesn't cause trouble, knows the plays, makes some good catches when called upon.
Anderson gets all kinds of love. Look at how many threads he has. Your mentioning Keglar is the first this year. Keglar is probably hanging on to a roster spot by his fingernails. Anderson is probably locked in (for the 6th season) because he's a Kubiak guy.But besides that your comparing his level of scrutiny to jacoby is absurd. According to kubiak jacoby is 2b. For the most part da has been a fifth receiver for us. While you're at it why not try to protect the Brian Cushing bashing and explain how Stanford Keglar is who folks should complain about.
A receiver on the back end of the roster should help on special teams. As a returner, or gunner, or something. Anderson does none of those things. He's a legacy on this team, and his legacy is the team jokester.DA is not irreplaceable and he's not a catch and run guy, but he has made some good catches for us when called upon. Not sure what more you want out of the fifth receiver.

See what I mean?David Anderson is a great 3rd down reciever and is glue hands when Schaub throws to him, Jacoby has muffed so many punts I amazed he is still on the team

Huh? So because Jacoby has had a more important role, he deserves more scrutiny and negativity? Despite the fact that Anderson made twice the amount ($1.5 mil to $750K) as Jones? It's comical that Anderson gets props and Jones gets jeers. All I'm saying is that he hasn't been as critical to our success as 2nd round pick jacoby jones.

Jones was selected in the 3rd round of the 2007 draft. Anderson was selected in the 7th round of the 2006 draft. Jones may very well make more $$$ in 2011 than Anderson. Anderson may be making his cash on the minor league comedy circuit. What's a fact is that Anderson made more money than Jones in 2010. And over his career.Sigh.
Jacoby was a second round pick.
You are smarter than that.
A sign your offense is pretty good:
Fans bicker over backup swing tackles and 4th/5th WRs. Sure nice not having to debate starting tackles and QBs.
It did at that time. This surprises you??

Jacoby Jones hasn't had near the bad drops or goof-up moments that he's made out to have had. He's gotten a bad rap around here.
I've shown stats on here in the past, from NFL.com's player stats pages, that shows Jacoby Jones ran circles around David Anderson in almost every category. And in one maybe two categories, they're almost even.
When it comes to big play capabilities, Jacoby is a better option than Anderson. When Anderson catches the ball, he has something like .5 YAC (exaggerating for effect). He just gets nailed pretty quick after having caught the ball. Jacoby, when he catches the ball, is seemingly always in a dead sprint and isn't stopping--He's catching the ball in stride and continuing moving downfield.
I won't be hacked off if Jacoby Jones is gone. We're bigger than Jacoby Jones, in terms of being able to replace him with someone like Dorin Dickerson. But if we stack up Jacoby and David side-by-side and you have to choose which guy to throw to, to make a play or possibly a TD, I'm choosing Jacoby Jones. He can be electric.
When you put them side by side and want a big play, yes. When you want that precise route run to the sticks and sure hands for the first down, you take DA. JJ's the guy that makes the spectacular happen and muffs the routine. DA's the guy that masters the routine to the point of boredom and can't do anything spectacular.

Sigh.
Anderson is a role player who runs the underneath route. Comparing him to Jacoby is a bit apples-to-oranges.
I remember Zierlein writing an article last year about how Anderson's route helped to open up Andre. I searched for it today, but couldn't find it.
I have noticed though that Anderson is not utilized as much by Dennison as he was by Kyle Shanahan. That could be Dennison's preference, or the fact that we actually have a running game now.
Defenders are staying shallow, to watch out for Arian Foster, and that means there's not that little 5-yard route for DA anymore. IIRC, he got pounded a couple of times last season.
I think he's easily an odd man out, but people love his attitude and his grit. I do, too, but sometimes teams just outgrow guys. My .02....
